"We enjoyed the Sunday lunch buffet for $20, and it was absolutely delicious. The vegetarian options included palak corn, malai paneer, kadhi, and dal makhani, while the non-vegetarian selections featured chicken curry, tandoori chicken, and biryani chicken. There was also raita and chutney available to accompany the tikka and pakora appetizers. For dessert, we tried the lychee halwa (a bit unusual) and kheer (which was just okay). "My experience with Indian food is limited, but I was excited when invited to dine at Beenz Indian Grill And. The friendly staff informed me that the restaurant specializes in traditional Indian cuisine, with some Indo-Chinese dishes as well. We began with chicken lollipops and Manchurian cauliflower fritters—both were outstanding and full of flavor. For the main course, we enjoyed a mixed grill, Tikki chicken masala, and Saag Paneer. To complement the meal, I tried their house special cocktail made with Malibu rum, which paired perfectly with the bold flavors and gave me a tropical, Caribbean island vibe. "stopped by tonight, rainy evening. We originally made a takeout order, when I went to go pick up the food, I was lucky to score a table. The staff was so nice, they unpacked everything and plated all the food. I thought that was an amazing gesture of hospitality. The service is thoughtful, but not pushy. They check in without disrupting the flow of dinner. I had the lamb Rogan Josh, Basil chicken and fried Okra as a side (suggested by the staff member). It was all Full of flavor and delicious. I paired it Garlic and plain naan bread which was fluffy and crispy. Overall, I highly recommend Amma for those that love Indian food and those that are new to it. "Overall, it was good. It is Indian food afterall. That said, it wasn 't our favorite. We always have a hard time deciding what to order so we love sampler platters but they don 't have one. The server didn 't seem to knowledgeable about the menu and wasn 't too keen on asking the cooks details we needed to know. We were there for nearly two hours and most of it was spent waiting for our server to come to our table. At first we thought it was because they were busy but about an hour into our visit it died down considerably and we still never saw our server. We had to find extra silverware on our own and eventually had to flag down a host or busboy (not sure) to advise that our daughter 's meal, which was supposed to be mild, was in fact spicy and she couldn 't eat it. He eventually got our server but rather than explain, he just told her we had a problem with our food. When we did explain, she said looked at the order on her device and confirmed it said mild. We were not doubting that she entered the ordered correctly, we 're doubting that it was prepared correctly. Big difference. Next time I think we 'll just drive out to Baymeadows instead and go to Maa Kitchen."

"I have to say that I was impressed with the food. Specifically because Lafayette is a small city and not a melting pot like Houston, LA or NYC where you can find so many choices. I mentioned that the chef had to be from India, and my guess was right. When I tasted the food, I knew the ingredients were balanced in a way that whoever is cooking, he is someone experienced and had to be born in the Indian region where he can tell the exact taste and balance the spices that makes it delicious. Our waitress Allie was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. She is a great listener and willing to learn. Lamb Biryani: The lamb was cooked to perfection. Very tender, great portion with respect to rice. Many places put 3 pieces and fill the whole plate with rice to save on cost and take away from the quality of the dish. My only comment is the riata should not be in a plastic cup. It took away from the presentation of the metal bowl. Butter Chicken: Sauce was equally balanced in respect to flavor. The creamy sauce was not too much buttery to the point where you can taste the butter and not too watery where you don't taste the main ingredients of the sauce. Chicken was soft and also cooked right. Some places you will eat the chicken and it has that little hard bite as if you're biting an undercooked steak fries. Samosas : Absolutely amazing, with the Tamarindo. Nan Garlic Bread: Delicious, dipping it with the butter chicken sauce was amazing. I would add the crispy bread Pappdum as soon as guests sit on the table. Ambience: I would invest a little bit lighting bulbs, decor here and there, some Indian music in the background to give that full experience. Entrance: Can be decorated better with Indian sari, vase, and accents. Overall, loved the place, keep up the quality of the food. Invest little more in the place and start working on some marketing strategies. This place has lots of potential. Highly recommended"

"Service is 6/5. I recommend so much (this is the PERFECT date night spot). SABI OUR SERVICER WAS LITERALLY SO AMAZING!! She was kind, attentive, and she handled my thousands of questions with professionalism. She gave me such clarity on the menu. I ordered the blueberry martini, my boyfriend ordered the Bombay cocktail as well. Both drinks are a 1 and done. Great drink for $15. We ordered the shrimp for appetizer and it was so FRESH and FLAVORFUL please get it. I ordered the Yellow Crab Curry for my entree, but subbed the crab for shrimp. My boyfriend got the lamb shank and we shared the garlic naan. —— as an Indian food lover, the naan was the best I ever had and my boyfriend truly regretted not getting the Yellow Crab curry because it was delicious. His shank was flavorful as well. I asked for my curry to be spicy and they made it with just the amount of spice. My boyfriend and I live in Temple Hills which is 45 50 mins away but we took a chance and tried this place and I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. That’s how good it is. This is my boyfriend’s favorite place now that we went. I love Joyti in Adams Morgan but it’s hard for me to pick a restaurant over the other because Joyti has the Kadai Chicken which I absolutely love but due to parking, Commonwealth Indian is absolutely way more easier to get to with a car. "I have tried 3 different Sakoon restaurants and never got a disappointment in terms of flavor n taste. This time it was Fremont one. My family first ordered two appetizers (Chaat Papdi n Saufia Paneer) and they loved both in taste. Only thing is that papdi was less in Chaat Papdi (lol). We found the main course very tasty as well. We asked for green chili on side to add more spice but they offered another dish (some salad) which I didn?t understand. Side sitting is compact and not comfortable but middle ones are better since you can adjust the chairs. My reviews are mostly because of taste. I would like to return whenever want to eat tasty food."

"Ordered the lunch special on a snowy Monday. Ordered through their website, and was called right away with a pick up time. Got the Chicken Tikka Masala special, which came with the chicken, a veggie (some sort of eggplant/lentil? I did not choose it, but it was delicious! , rice, naan, chutneys, and a soda. The pickup was very smooth; the restaurant was adhering to all social distancing protocol, and the meal was extremely hot and fresh. The chicken tikka masala is the perfect balance of creamy/sweet and spicy, and the vegetable side was a delicious and unexpected plus. For $10, it's an unbeatable deal for the amount of food you get. I moved in right around the corner about 6 months ago, and can't believe I'm only now trying Sapphire. A Dekalb gem can't wait to go back."

"before you had eaten at a coveted event. it was delicious and fresh. tonight I decided to order my husband birthday as a nice family meal by a doorschur. Eat came fast and warm, but it didn't taste fresh and we both are sick now. the hunch 65 had a fired stalk taste. husband asked twice if it was chicken65. the Tandoori chicken I find it hard to do with legs. the roasted okra had no crunch on it and broken over. also the rice tasted. only those who were decent were the cauliflower and naan . very disappointed when he had eaten this food for his birthday and it was a huge farewell. we will probably not return."

"Absolutely poor service. Party of 4. Was seated without menus. Brought water after 5 minutes and then 2 menus after another 5 minutes. Waiters tie dipped in my water glass and he didn't even notice. Normally not a big deal, as I would just ask for another. But in this case he was reaching across the table when he could have easily walked around to the other side. We weren't in a booth. Once food arrived, it sat in the aisle between two occupied tables on a tray. The waiter then arrives about 5 minutes later and puts it on our table. The entire time the two tables are wondering if that was their meal or belonged to the opposite table. Waiter never came back to check in to see how the meal was. Never asked if we wanted anything else. Brought check but no pen to sign receipt. After waiting for 10 minutes, I walked to the front, helped myself to a pen on the counter signed the receipt and left! This place appears to be over-priced for what it is. Basically another run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. Nothing special. Dont let the decor fool you into thinking it is of higher quality."

"We hadn't had Indian cuisine in a while so we decided to return to Sakoon. We'd been coming to this restaurant once in a blue moon since it opened and they had a vegetarian prix fixe menu. While I had seen less than glowing reviews recently, we decided to give it a try again. The vegetarian food is amazing. We had Avo Jhalmuri and Chaa panadi for our first course paired with a bottle of delightful Reisling. It was a great start. For main courses we shared Mirch Bangan and Sham Savera Kofta along with a double helping of Lachha Parantha to mop up the amazing sauces. As a side note, the presentations are beautiful and the plates that they provided for the main course were stunningly stylish--the nicest design I've seen at a restaurant. We had great service and never lacked for getting additional water or a fork. And we enjoyed the dessert that we split given how much we'd eaten as the main meal. Overall it was a joy, and we'll return sooner!"

"The chicken is dry, sauces flavorful. However, the last time I went there, the waiter disappeared. (I was now the ONLY person in the restaurant. . I waited for 20 minutes after finishing my meal, then slowly and quietly asked for my check. I progressively got louder until I was screaming; I asked for the check, pleaded, threatened to walk out.... After screaming at the top of my lungs, now, he finally came upstairs, saying 'they ' were busy with deliveries downstairs and he thought I was enjoying my book...BTW, NO deliveries went out during this period. No apologies, no discount for having to scream for 20 minutes. I will never be back..."

"My husband and I have been to Tamarind three times now and the food has been excellent everytime. In addition, the servers are very nice and also very helpful. If you don't know what something is, they'll take the time to provide pictures and explanations. We also like the noise level in the place. There is plenty of conversation going on throughout the place, however it is always at a respectable level so that carrying on conversations within your own party are easy. The only reason I gave this place 4 instead of 5 stars is that the decor is just a bit on the cheesy or lower-end side. I'm not referring to the Indian decor, just more of the tables having a sort of plastic coating on them (not tablecloths) and things like that. You don't want to take a date expecting high-end atmosphere and then be disappointed. That said, the lighting is subdued and they do put candles and flowers on the tables to try to counter that, making the ambience just a bit odd. It does help keep prices down though and my husband and I will continue to go for the great food and people."

"At the buffet, we enjoyed various items, including chickpea salad, fresh cut vegetables, green salad, and pakoras (which were running out quickly, so I snagged some from my husband's plate!). There was also baby corn, some stir-fried vegetables (which I didn't really enjoy), chili chicken, Greek chicken, chicken tikka masala, paneer palak, rice, Peshawari dal, rice kheer, masala chai, and gulab jamun. I found the gulab jamun to be quite sweet—I could only manage a quarter of one. I actually preferred the kheer over it. Unfortunately, the tandoori chicken I ordered felt rushed and wasn't as satisfying. They might want to consider reducing the size of the gulab jamun, as many people only ate half. Overall, it was a great experience, and I look forward to returning!"

"I stopped in here eager to try a new local Indian restaurant and get my usual, but was surprised when there was a big message on the board saying to ask about their vegan options! This included believe it or not vegan Indian pizzas made with Daiya cheese, not to mention curries and dosas and all the more usual fare. Apparently the wife of one of the owners of this restaurant is vegan and so they 're very knowledgeable and keep Daiya on hand. They also said they may add more vegan options in the future (such as vegan meat options). The bad news is that it 's not currently clearly identified on the menu, so you have to speak to a person and ask. They also warned me that they typically use ghee (butter) in most dishes if you don 't specify vegan, so make sure you speak to someone! Service was a little slow, but I put that down to growing pains of a new restaurant. The ambiance is very casual, and you can order at the counter or be seated. But who cares? The food was incredible!! I 'm going to keep coming back for those insanely delicious vegan Indian pizzas..."
