"Standard diner, nothing particularly notable about the anesthetics or decor run of the mill in that regard. The staff and owners are what stand out at this establishment. Went there with my two kids and they enjoyed the staff's especially our waitress's hospitality and attention. The family feel of whole experience prompted me to order a vanilla egg cream which I had not had in about 30 years. The one area I would ask management to address is the spartan condition of the restrooms. Pretty minor considering the other factors that make this a great go to place in Bay Ridge."

"I visited The Pitstop for dinner one evening, and I'm so glad I chose this restaurant. The food was outstanding. I enjoyed the New England Clam Chowder and shared the Ribs and Chicken with my father. The ribs were cooked to perfection, with the meat effortlessly sliding off the bone. They were generously coated in BBQ sauce, which added to their delicious flavor. The chicken was also cooked just right—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I tried a bite of my wife's Cuban Sandwich and absolutely loved it. I will definitely be returning to this place and highly recommend it to everyone! Enjoy!"

"Originally trying to eat at IHOP, we changed plans due to a long wait for staffing shortage reasons. After trying to find several places that were open as early as we were driving around, we came across Midtown Cafe Dessertery. It was a fairly cool morning, so walking into the smell of coffee and sweets emanating from inside was a nice welcome. The space was also well lit and the staff was all so friendly. We sat at a table in the corner next to a bright window where we could see the fountain at the entrance. I was digging the morning atmosphere. Our waitress gave our toddler a cool coloring pad to draw on and for the first time, we were directed to use a coin to scratch at the picture to color. Very cool! And mess-free from typical crayons. I really liked not having to pick up crayons or keep such a close eye on whether or not she was tempted to draw on anything else she's not supposed to. One less thing to worry about! I ordered the french toast combo which was cinnamon-dusted with a side of caramel-like syrup. It also came with eggs and sausage links. There was a bit more of a dusting than I cared for, but not so where I didn't eat the whole thing.. My hubby, not being a breakfast guy, ordered their popular Pinehurst Chicken Grill sandwich; an eight-ounce chicken breast marinated in their Pinehurst sauce. It is Chargrilled then served on a grilled bun, topped with Pinehurst Sauce, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. He really enjoyed it! Our daughter had caterpillar-styled pancakes which came with chocolate dots for a face and bacon. She really enjoyed it although I wish the chocolate could have been incorporated throughout the pancakes in another way beyond just being 3 dots for a face. Finishing up, we split the most delicious triple chocolate cheesecake, an espresso for Hubs, and a chai coffee for me. To sum it up, I think this is a solid cafe. No-frills food with safe options to choose from if you're going somewhere you just need to fill up. Kind of reminds me of an elevated IHOP, but with a kickass dessertery."

"Great atmosphere, lovely decor, very cozy, spacious, GREAT service.For appetizers I had boneless wings with guac. Both were very tasteful and delicious. Enough for 2 people to share.I recommend the lemonade, it’s homemade not powered sugar the iced cappuccino.For my meal I had a chicken wrap with fries. Did not like it at all. I was expecting it to be grilled white meat, but instead it seemed like shredded thigh. Would not eat, or recommend. We also had a fries crispy chicken sandwich which was good. Both meals comes with fries. Overall tasteful place with great service. Would visit again for sure."

"Giving this restaurant a three instead of a five really pains me as, growing up, it was my favorite place to eat. Unfortunately, our last trip there wasn 't up to where their usual standards used to be. This review is from Spring of '21. My main issue was with the staff and some confusing communication. I called to order takeout and explained that I had the promotional offer listed on their website. The women who took my order noted that and said to just bring the coupon on went I went to pick it up and they would take it off the bill. When I went in to pick up the food and pay, I was told by the server and her supervisor that I could not use it on takeout. I showed her the coupon, which did not have any language whatsoever about only being for dine-in/days of the week/any type of restrictions, and I also mentioned that the person on the phone said it would be fine. They compromised and offered a lower percentage off, which I appreciate, but I was still left frustrated with the lack of communication. I understand the issues with staffing and prices due to Covid, but perhaps remove any offers if you 're just going to say you are unable to honor them. Speaking about the food, I ordered the steak, and it was still as good as I remember. Juicy and fully of flavor and the baked potato was delicious. My mom ordered the broiled seafood melody and said the lobster sauce should have come in a bucket because it was so good but that the seafood was just okay. I do think that that 's a meal that is most likely not as good for takeout as it would be if we ordered dine-in. This was before the salad bar had come back and we realized that the salad bar has really been carrying the experience for us over the past 20+ years. I 'd go back with the salad bar to give them another chance just since I have had so many great meals here, but I 'm not totally optimistic that it will be as good as it once was."

"Rays pizza is amazing. I am a fan! The only issue is that they use their own delivery drivers. It would be better if they allowed DoorDash drivers to pick up orders to ensure that the pizzas arrive hot. Even though I am only 2 miles away, I always seem to encounter issues with their delivery drivers."

"Cute little place on a charming corner (literally a bus stop) that?s been around forever. I used to go here years ago and just came back for the first time in perhaps 15 years or more. I decided to try their free delivery service during my work break and I was blown away by the excellent customer service from the representative on the phone. Their breakfast recommendations were spot on. They kept me informed about the delivery time, and the wait was minimal. The Egg Benedict with avocado was a delightful treat. "My son placed the order, and it was my first time trying the food. It was delicious, but they forgot the special sauce for my sweet potato fries and didn't provide any condiments for my son's burger. I called the restaurant, and they promised a $10 refund to my credit card. However, more than 10 days have passed, and I still haven't received it. I called again to explain the situation, but no one has returned my call. After a recent surgery that didn't go well, I was really looking forward to enjoying that special sauce with my sweet potatoes. I'm very disappointed."

"It was refreshing to find a veggie friendly place to eat in Miami Beach (even though it's a bit removed from all the action). But, for the price you pay for the food, I'd expect the place to be cleaner and have greater ambiance. By clean, I mean there was a huge spider web hanging from one of the beams to the ceiling. I'm sure the employees can't spot it because who'd want to look up at the fluorescent lights when cleaning. And, the bathroom could've used some TLC. Yes, the place is half a small market, but things can be done to make the eating experience more pleasant (or is the point to leave as quickly as possible for the beach? I'm not sure considering there were 5 other people eating there at the time). Again, fine food (the Acai smoothie and veegie burger were tasty), but I think next time I'm in South Beach, I'd rather pay as much for greater ambiance and a cleaner place to eat."

"Spoons an excellent Dairy restaurant. My father took me here a few times the 1st time the food was waaaaay 2 hot so from then on my father ordered ahead of time so the food wouldn't b boiling. They also have a separate room 4 events like Sheva Brachos or other events. Back in the days Danny Bleaich was the manager Danny is a veeeeeeery special friendly person. Out waiter was Elazar who was also veeeeeeery professional. If u love Dairy food want excellent service I'd highly recommend try out spoons. I'd definitely wanna come here again in the future. "After deciding street parking wasn’t the best option we put our names on the list and waited about 20 minutes to be sat. Our server had amazing energy, she let us know she was new but it honestly wouldn’t have crossed my mind the way she answered our questions and was sure about my allergy restrictions! I ended up ordering the steak salad, amazing! It wasn’t plated well and initially that put me off but after first bite I was blown away. The steak was tender and well marinated and the salad greens were all fresh and the dressing wasn’t overdone. I also ordered my signature green tea matcha latte, I did not love this one. The flavor was very earthy but not in the good way. We also tried the cinnamon pancakes! I am generally not a pancake person but these were next level, between the presentation and the actual flavors it caught me off guard. The Italian omelette was very flavorful and better than anticipated. I believe them when they say farm to table ingredients. Even the orange juice we ordered tasted fresh squeezed (read sour with pulp lol). Overall good experience and would recommend anyone in the area to have atleast one meal here!"

"Maki Mahi The grill is exceptional and delicious with three flavors: original, Cayenne Pepper, and Lemon Pepper. The appetizer chips are also very tasty with a very tasteful non-too-spicy salsa. Even if you do not finish your meal(s), there are boxes inside to take your extras home and enjoy at a later time. The next day, for a few minutes, I put our left pommes, rice and fish in the oven/Broiler and it was still delicious."
