"Standard diner, nothing particularly notable about the anesthetics or decor run of the mill in that regard. The staff and owners are what stand out at this establishment. Went there with my two kids and they enjoyed the staff's especially our waitress's hospitality and attention. The family feel of whole experience prompted me to order a vanilla egg cream which I had not had in about 30 years. The one area I would ask management to address is the spartan condition of the restrooms. Pretty minor considering the other factors that make this a great go to place in Bay Ridge."

Such stellar customer service! The ladies who work here are such sweethearts. Always a smile and a kind word. The order is correct. The food is great and comes out promptly. The atmosphere is light and airy. They deliver 24/7 and that’s a bonus. The people who run this place make a point to make you feel welcome and the fare is well priced. View menu

Best pineapple pancakes I've had yet. Breakfast options here are amazing and very filling. Everything from oatmeal to bacon is available. Fresh orange juice is there almost all the time. I like this place in part due to friendly staff as well. Only downside is its not cheap. Costs almost 13 dollars for a breakfast option along with juice glass separately.

Fantastic breakfast and a diverse menu! My boyfriend and I absolutely love the breakfast options at Emphasis, and the staff is consistently friendly. Although there are some diners closer to our home, we always opt for Emphasis because their breakfasts are outstanding. When my parents came to visit, they were eager to return to Emphasis after enjoying it so much.

I visited this traditional Greek diner after a follow-up appointment at the doctor’s office in Bay Ridge. It's just a block away and conveniently located near the R train. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. This family-owned establishment has been serving the community for many years. Mána, the delightful hostess and matriarch of the family, was particularly charming; she even took the time to teach me a few words in Greek! View menu

Today was one of the best diner experiences I've ever had in New York City, and I've had my fair share. The Village Salad is like a Greek salad, but without the lettuce, and honestly, what could be better? This one was large, fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and skilled, and the welcome we received was incredibly warm. Even the coffee stood out as exceptional. Overall, this place really goes the extra mile.

This diner is fantastic and always open! I've never ordered anything here that I didn't enjoy. Sure, it's a diner, so I don't expect a fine dining experience, but it doesn't matter what time I walk in—whether it's 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning—the food is consistently fresh, and the service is always good. My favorite order is challah French toast and bacon at 2 in the morning; it's always delicious. The burgers, fries, eggs, pancakes, and steak and cheese are all great too. I could go on and on; everything here is good!

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
