"Our first time here since the restaurant moved from Setauket. We ate at the outside deck which was so nice. Music was piped in and was soft and easy to have a conversation with. The food was still amazing! It was my husband's birthday and I informed the waiter. He brought some ice cream and a huge sparkler! We had a great meal and they honored my Groupon! Definitely will go back again and again!"

"my wife and I had an early dinner here when a Saturday event ended early. we had missed it at lunch, so we started with her beech. crispy thick potato chips with beer cheese meat and gravy that are definitely worth a try. she had an Irish mule and I went for the rob burns, both were excellent. she enjoyed her enough that she had a second with her fishing and chips. the fish/chips were good and the accompanying claw was excellent. I had my first brain cake. in principle a meat cake with potatoes as top crust. good taste and very filling. as we missed the lunch we splashed and shared a brotpudding that was one of their favorite desserts. it was more like a combed french toast than a conventional brotpudding and it was the perfect finish. krispy and sweet on the outside with a very nice taste and texture inside. we stopped here a few times before the pub farewell and we were never disappointed. we will be back and I can recommend this place without reservation for casual fun and good eating."

"I'm a return customer for a reason. I've had chance to try many of the meals and all of the desserts. Everything is prepared perfectly and is a top tier dining experience. We tend to sit in the dining room, so cannot address the amenities of the sports bar side of the house. The menu selection is always eclectic, from the elegant simplicity of a perfectly executed burger to the exquisitely prepared braised lamb shank. The cocktail and spirit selection provides a variety to suit any palate. Any one of the desserts would bolster your mood and energy and allow you to go on a mighty quest to save Middle-Earth (or your local community). The service is always well executed, allowing ample time to finish multiple courses. The staff is pleasant, prompt, knowledgeable and engaging. I highly recommend the experience."

"It’s not your typical high touristy restaurant that slacks on service, value, and more importantly taste. We experienced great service, delicious food, and the natural entertainment from the playful seals. Make a reservation on open table and request to sit by a window, we sat upstairs. I ordered grotto seafood sampler and the calamari was the best I’ve ever had, lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The grilled scallops and clam chowder were favorites from our table. The desert options all looked amazing the hostess said the cannolis and bread pudding are most popular but mom wanted key lime pie so we went with that. We were not disappointed reminded us of the Florida Keys."

"I didn’t get the clear idea of Valentine’s Day celebration. Since I was able to make a table for reservations for I was assuming I was going to be a part of Valentines celebration not realizing the celebration was from only Allen was very apologetic and sat us at another section of the room. The food was delicious but it was a very small portion. We had to ask for the. Bread We were really hungry. We were very disappointed but party my fault. I had tried to clarify when I made the on line reservations but was unable to get anyone on the phone. I tried quite a few times. Allen was very gracious and gave us complimentary tickets to the movie. Ashley was absolutely wonderful. She just had a lot to handle from being bartender and waitress at the same time. Allen was also handling the people coming in plus helping organize the event. It seems they were basically the only actually working. They deserve a lot of credit"

"Had to tell employee's twice that the women's room needed some attention while I saw several staff members just standing around. Several dying plants could have also used some attention. It is such a cool concept to be able to dine and watch a movie, but it just felt very underwhelming."

"Celebrating our anniversary, we were seated right next to the bar. If I wanted to dine in a sport bar, I would have went to one. Our server was also the bartender, so our service suffered when she got a rush. Our wine and water went unfilled for at least minutes. The meal itself was okay. The salad was crispy and fresh. Steaks were seasoned nicely, but somewhat overcooked. If we had been seated near a window, even in the bar area it would have been better. The dining room looked nice. I spoke with the manager and he blamed our seating choice on the online reservation system. This was our second visit to Reds, I can’t say I can recommend them or I will ever return."

"I was in town with friends for the Wineglass marathon and we were searching for a pasta dinner the night before the race. The reviews are mostly good with a a couple bad ones sprinkled in that we were concerned about but since this is the only Italian restaurant within at least 30 minutes, we took the gamble. The food was disappointing to say the least. The homemade pasta was angel hair from a box and the chicken parm was so thick/tough (not pounded out at all) that it was inedible. The prices were also extremely high given the quality of food (we were actually up charged for said homemade pasta even though we were told it came with the entrees). I feel bad writing this but it was such a disappointing meal when we needed something to fuel us for the next day. Take out pizza would have been a better option."

"We had our friends in from out of town. We ordered drinks that took minutes to receive and minutes before we were able to order our meal due to our waitress being MIA. I spoke with the manager and he advised there were two large parties so they were behind. Totally understandable, however, it didn’t seem like our waitress was hosting the other tables and completely ignored us the entire night. Our friend wanted another drink and finally went to the bar as she would not come back to check on us. When she came back to our table, she confronted him about how he went to the bar. There was nothing else to say except she never came back to ask if we needed anything else. We finally received a new waiter and he was much more hospitable and apologetic. I think she told him she wasn’t going to wait on us after that. The meal was comped and the second waiter made up for the waitress we initially had. I just have never had such poor service in my life and our friends were equally just as shocked"

"Appetizers were so tasty and good; artichoke hearts were zesty!! Highly recommend those the brussel sprouts. The cocktails were also very delicious too! The ladies really liked the cucumber martini I liked the blood orange mule. Rock fish tacos were perfect! I was worried about the papaya salsa being sweet and it wasn’t. "The service on the night we dined here was total chaos. I was able to reserve a table on Open Table with no wait, but walk ins were told it would be a 90 min wait. We were seated relatively quickly, was given a glass of water, and then waited for 20 minutes before anyone came back to take our order that just happened to be the host who was checking in guests at the front and was also bussing tables. There were only 4 people actually working the dining area that we could see and there didn’t appear to be any organization to who was doing what. Despite the wait to order, the food came quickly and was good, not great. Average Italian fare, good size portions. Don’t know that I’d go out of my way to dine here again."

"have enjoyed Mel has been for a few decades, and it is never disappointed! Everything on the menu is great, nothing you can go wrong with. Had a stop at a Sat evening at 5:00 and could get a table within a few minutes. Decorated on their onion rings, fried mushrooms, bacon cheeseburger (normal size!... not the Mel or Mega-Mel) and the Monte Christo. The food is always hot, crispy and not greasy. The hostess and wait staff are super friendly and even tho the waiting staff go what seems like a million miles an hour.. You still care about you! The only Ni-Pick on our meal this time, was with the Monte Christo... they needed to melt the cheese in a sandwich before roasting! This sandwich must be warm inside when you bite, not cool."

"We visited Public Kitchen for the first time to celebrate our graduation, arriving well ahead of our 5:15 reservation. To our surprise, the restaurant was quite empty, allowing us to sit at a window table with a lovely view of the park. Our server offered some great menu suggestions, and we started off with a delicious meat and cheese board, which everyone enjoyed. My mom was really getting into her drinks. When our server asked what brought us in, we shared that it was a celebration for my graduation. While nothing special was done to mark the occasion, I didn't expect it and wasn't disappointed. I just thought I’d mention it in case the restaurant wants to consider something similar for future celebrations."

"This place looks so lovely the inside is but the food is below average. We sat outside as the day was lovely and it was so incredibly noisy for being outside. I was going to give it a better rating but my husband had the special which was a short rib mushroom lasagna he thought the mushrooms were large, chewy the dish was undesirable. The service was beyond awful they charge you a 3% charge if you pay with credit card. I will NOT be going back. Weâre foodies so if youâre into average food lousy service you might like it. Recommend you sit inside if you want a nicer atmosphere. Itâs local for us had hoped it would be better."

"the food was delicious, the ambiente was perfect, but the service was terrible! they were extremely slow and brought the wrong drinks orders and then forgot to bring a drink. I had to cancel it because we were finished with our meal when the waitress came back and quiet without drinking. the waitress told us that she would compose the drinks, as it was her fault, then didn't really end like that. we ran late for a show and had no time to tie them back and to transfer the scary."

"My wife and I stopped by for dinner and found the restaurant about half full. After a short wait, our server came over and took our order. We asked for her recommendations, and she confidently shared a few options. My wife chose the stir fry, and I went with the hot beef sandwich. Both dishes were excellent—her suggestions were spot on! We were both very pleased with our meals, and the prices were reasonable. The service was great, and the restaurant was clean. We'll definitely be back!"

"As a Titanium Elite Member, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow and we had to flag down a server after waiting for a long time at our table. Our waiter seemed distracted and not attentive while taking our order. The water service and food runner lacked personality and did not engage with us in a friendly manner. The Oysters Rockefeller had a strong fishy taste and an unpleasant texture. We returned it and it was removed from our bill. The steak I ordered medium rare arrived raw. The side dishes of mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and mushroom appetizers were overly salty and unappetizing. The Brussel sprouts were burnt. The chocolate cake we ordered to-go was not good and ended up being thrown away. None of us would recommend or return to this restaurant. Despite there not being many customers present, the service should have been better given the high prices."

"This was our first time to a Stonewood Grill, and we were very pleased with the experience. My son and I both had their sirloin steak and they were cooked to perfection and very tasty. He added on a skewer of shrimp and scallops blackened which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. We ordered a basket of pretzel bread and that was the first time I had it with butter and it was very good, great job and we will be back again soon !"
