"Highly recommended! I had 12 family members of all ages coming into town and decided to give La Puerta Azul a try as it had been on my list for a while. It was great all around and everyone agreed, including all the picky eaters in the group. The restaurant was able to accommodate us even though I called just a day in advance. All the food was really delicious and there were only empty plates left behind. They also accommodated many special requests. Vegetarians loved their meals. Seafood lovers loved their meals. Meat eaters loved their meals. The churros were also awesome and I saw them be from scratch in the kitchen. So hot and tender and delicious. Melted in your mouth. People who were too full fully stole their own and raved. The decor is also a hoot! Waterfall when you enter a little bridge to cross inside. We sat in a private room at the biggest round table we 've ever seen. Everyone was absolutely entertained. The service was also great. Again, they accommodated every picky eater and made menu recommendations that were great. Food was hot and delicious. Really nice presentations. Go here. You 'll really like it. I plan to return with basically everyone I know. "Was greeted in a timely manner from the hostess. About 5 minutes later the hostess returned to say our server was detained and she took our drink order. Not great, but also not bad. A table behind us was seated about the time we got seated. Drinks for the other table came out before our drink order was taken and they also got their appetizer order too before we got our drinks. Then our waitress arrived just as the hostess was serving our drinks. We ordered Ahi Avocado cakes, Turkey Burger and the fresh fish Tacos. That was the last time we would see the waitress until we complained. The table behind us had another round of drinks, finished dinner and ordered desert before any of our food came out. And once the food came out, it was lukewarm, leading me to believe that it was plated and sitting in the window. This is when we first complained and again the hostess happen to be the only person checking on us. Other wait staff, just walked by seeing our glasses empty and no food on the table. The manager arrived at our table and did offer to have our plates remade, but after 45+ minutes of bad service we chose to eat semi warm food. Then our waitress shows up and explains about how she had other tables in the restaurant that prevented her for waiting on us, and then offered to comp out the appetizers and drinks. The restaurant was not that busy and like I said we did not see her until we complained. The next time our waitress showed up it was to ask if we wanted desert which we declined and she had the bill ready. As for the food, The Ahi Avocado Cake were cold not much flavor and only one of the cakes had avocado in it. The fish tacos where oily and lacked any real flavor too. The turkey burger was dry and the bun was soggy. I'm not sure if this was due to the dishes being plated and sitting or just not good tasting food. I also get that we might have just been that one customer that had the perfect storm of falling thru the cracks, BUT, I'm not trying it!!"
