"While visiting at The Top of the World with PJ and Mona we had dinner here one evening. Great family owned operation. The food was absolutely delicious. Joel said that his steak was the best he 'd ever had. The service was very good and everyone was friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jean from California"

"I had an excellent fish and chips would turn into service. There is a music being played near the bar which added to the ambiance. My one colleague had scallops and my son had surf and turf. There was a lovely color throughout the restaurant gave a modern touch to the Tudor style interior. This restaurant is a good option if you do not want to go downtown Chicago and is attached to the Carlton hotel where my friend was staying the night. Definitely recommend this for a night out"

"I think it's pretty great! While some people have had negative experiences, that might just have been on a bad day. The quality of the meal can vary depending on who's working that day, so sometimes it might be better than others. Overall, I enjoy the atmosphere and have had positive experiences there."

"The diner has a cozy atmosphere with counter seating that adds to its charm. The food is fantastic, and the staff is exceptional, making for a wonderful dining experience. The portions are generous, with the tender being larger than my head—both tender and delicious! All the homemade dishes are perfectly prepared. Everything on the menu looked so tempting that I had a hard time deciding what to order, but I was thrilled with my choice of the tuna melt! It featured a delicious tuna salad nestled between grilled bread, accompanied by American and Swiss cheese, served with chips and a side of creamy potato soup. The desserts also looked incredible, but I was so full from my half sandwich that I could hardly manage any!"

"Driving around southeast Missouri, I passed through the town of Maple Hill. Where I found Jay’s. What a fantastic find! I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with two sides I got fried okra and mac cheese. And I also ordered their chocolate pie (they had coconut cream, chocolate peanut butter, and some other flavor, all freshly made) It was a football field of fried okra, but it was so crunchy and tasty that I almost ate all of it! The brisket was thinly sliced, very smoky and tender. I got the barbecue sauce on the side, and it was also good. The mac cheese was just mac cheese, but I figured for leftovers it’s going to be mixed with brisket so it’s going to be thoroughly excellent. The chocolate pie was really wonderful. A very large piece, lovely chocolate flavor, the crust was kind of like a puff pastry, and it was just really good. The bathrooms were clean, service was quick on my takeout and it’s easy to get to, so go! Stopped here in November 2023, got the Port steak, which was phenomenal. My brother loved the “real“ mashed potatoes, that had the addition of garlic. I had a half smoked chicken, and it was fall off the bone good. We also got cherry cobbler, which kind of looked like a mess in the to go container, but was full of cherries and crispy oat bits. Excellent stuff!"

"I would give it zero stars. The food quality has declined from very good to awful. The portions at the hot bar have shrunk significantly, going from a decent amount to barely anything. The cook seems to lack basic cooking skills. Prices have increased, and the menu has changed, resulting in the loss of some of our favorite dishes. It’s no longer a good value. I went from being a regular customer to not wanting to go back at all."

"When this place opened it was fantastic. The staff made you feel like it was your home away from home. It’s got progressively worse and in disrepair. There are plenty of better places within a mile for beers and burgers. The mens bathroom doesn’t have a lock and hasn’t for over a year. The bar top outside is sticky because it needs to be refurbished but don’t worry it won’t be open because when temp outside is over 90 it won’t be ope. The new manager treats the staff awful, it was the ONE thing that made this place special was the people Also there is a 4 credit card tax. Trust me go to village, hoppdoddy the new LSA or wahlburger. You’ll thank me later."

"I'm from Tennessee and staying in Oklahoma temporarily for my job. I was hungry and decided to stop by and dine in at the Steer Inn Restaurant in Cushing, Oklahoma. I have to say that the restuarant was very clean and the staff as well as my waitress was very friendly, professional, and attentive to any questions that I had about the menu. I ordered the 1lb Jalapeno Fried Chicken Dinner with my sides being tater tots and onion rings and when my order came out everything was very fresh and enough for two people. I can't believe the amount and size of the onions for one of my sides because normally you only get 3 to four small onion rings and wondering did I get shorted but not here. I couldn't eat everything that I ordered and had to ask for a to go plate. The food was great and customer service was outstanding. Thank you Steer Inn for a memorable experience at your restaurant."

"We have breakfast there a few times a month and have always been pleased with our experience. This time, we decided to try dinner, and it was fantastic. Our waitress was incredibly kind and treated everyone like family. In fact, she even covered a guest's dinner, telling him he could pay her back the next time he came in. The portions are generous and reasonably priced, and the food is delicious. We'll definitely be returning every week. If we lived closer, we'd probably visit even more often!"

"Due to not listing a current and working phone number to call and report, I am leaving a review here. After 45 minutes of waiting for our dine out order (they also only had an handful of people in there with us included) and spending $40+ on food, whenever we arrived home over HALF of our order was missing. We were missing 2 sausages, 4 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 biscuits and gravy, AND 1 hash brown. We live out of town, so coming up on a Sunday and ordering a breakfast for our family is something we do seldomly. To have terrible service (we weren’t waited on once) and to have spent a good amount of money to have absolutely nothing in our bag is absolutely pathetic. We will not be coming back (which won’t bother management or staff) but we will also be recommending everyone we can to go somewhere else. Even McDonalds gives us our whole order. This is sad."

"I had my first visit to this restaurant today with a friend. I ordered a caramel latte with extra caramel flavor, and after taking a sip, I quickly realized it was not good at all. I asked my friend to try it as well, and she agreed it was unpleasant. After only taking two sips, I asked the waitress if I could have the drink removed from the bill since I couldn't drink it. She said she would need to check with the manager. Based on the manager's attitude during their conversation, I suspected I'd be stuck paying almost $9 for the drink, and unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. There was no apology or offer to make me a new drink or substitute it for something else on the menu. I was simply told I had to pay for it. I'm not one to complain, but I believe this situation was poorly handled, and it certainly won't encourage me to return."

"My daughter and I had been out for a day of pampering and it was quite late about 8:20 in the evening and we wanted to eat good food this is not the place if I could add a picture, I would tried on my brussels' sprouts twice they didn't cut the ends off. They were hard as rocks and cold was disgusting. My so-called Reuben with pastrami was like shoe leather. The bread was like stone and that dressing. I don't know what that was, but it was gross the pretzel and cheese the cheese sauce was gritty and nasty. Granite there was another person with me who had salad and chili and was OK but you really can't fuck that up the bill came to $61 and something hell I could've went to a really high-end restaurant with the both of us and ate better than that for that , so disappointed will never be back ."

"We didn’t stay at the Inn, so I can’t comment on the rooms. We only stopped by for breakfast while passing through Nenana. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The portions were generous. We ordered pancakes, waffles, reindeer sausage, and everything was delicious. If you visit during warm weather, the outdoor table under the tree is lovely. The breakfast feels like something you would get at a friend's or family member's house. The place has a charming rustic vibe, and the bathroom is absolutely adorable—a must-see!"

"I agree with other reviewers, eating is good and the staff was friendly. my grilled tenderoin was very nice made, man burger was something over chilled, but good, and the dogs seemed to enjoy their simple burger. even my perpetrators were well done. my chocolateshake was great, but it was so thick that it was too tight in diameter!"

"Food was great. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. They don’t densely pack the meat so they are very tender. I ordered a double and the waitress only put in a single but after the appetizers of onion straws I was thankful for this oversight. Fried pickles weren’t the style I enjoy, but I see in the reviews others do enjoy them so not going to dock for that. Grabbed a peach fried pie to go for later and it was excellent as well. Waitress was VERY busy and seemed kind of flustered but she was doing a great job. Handling about half the restaurant by herself. One tip, check the specials board for the burger special. I could have saved a couple bucks with this. I didn’t see it but that was my fault and I will know to look next time."

"We ate at Jack's for Mother's Day. The restaurant had a full crowd most of the time we were there. As tables left, another would come in. Our waiter was always available and very friendly, suggesting recommendations. My parents had the lobster tail which they both liked, although my mom thought it could use a bit more pepper. For the appetizers, we had fried shrimp and calamari and my mom said you could tell the calamari was definitely fresh!!! I had the pan seared scallops which were perfectly cooked and delicious! My daughter had a CT Lobster roll which she very much enjoyed. The food was great. Pies for dessert were also very tasty. My daughter loved the key lime pie and she's hard to please. Would definitely recommend and would visit again."

"We started out with the charcuterie appetizer and it would have been spectacular except for the fact that the grapes were way past ripe. The meats, cheezes and such were lovely and a nice option. The main courses were adequate, but nothing exciting; pork chop and salmon. I'm thinking the steak is probably a better choice here. The atmosphere was the best part of the meal cozy, quiet and clubby."
