"This is far more like fine dining than Diner would suggest. This weekend we were here 3 times. Dinner Friday, Breakfast and Dinner Sunday. We were hosting out of town guests and brought 3 different groups to Chit Chat...foodies, children, fussy eaters and those with allergies and big appetites ALL VERY SATISFIED. The food is spectacular here. Fresh, delicious, generous portions. Whether you 're coming for breakfast (which I 've done multiple times), a working lunch or a relaxed dinner the Menu and Specials do it all. There 's not only something for everyone, it 's always consistent, delicious, hot and there will be leftovers. Our son loves the fig and gouda burger. I 've recently tried their chicken and waffles and their fried chicken is absolutely delicious (the individual bottle of syrup a sweet touch)... but so is their gyro platter, with THE BEST Greek fries EVER. They often have a roasted chicken that 's exceptional too. Their French onion, Chicken Noodles, Creamy Mushroom and Matzoh Ball soups are DELICIOUS. This weekend was the first time I gave their bar a try. My Mai Tai was perfect (and strong), my cousin 's jalapeño margaritas was sweet, spicy, salty and sour delicious. Saving the best for last. Service. These servers work their tails off. They 're attentive, fast, efficient, and terribly friendly. On Friday, we got there an hour before 2 others from our group. Our server paced accordingly. He never rushed us and he gushed with appreciation when our tip was tripled to accommodate for a table that could have turned over twice in the time that we were there. Bussing tables is an art, one part attentive to snag dishes as they empty without being too pesky. Their reach is always right, careful and comes with a thank you. I 've never had a bad server. I 've never had a mistake with an order. Sunday night we were a big group everyone got what they ordered, same time and fast. The hosts have a tough job since there 's usually a bit of a wait... they 're friendly and fast. And, the owner is hyper vigilant and exacting... making sure everything is right, perfect. And, that 's the recipe for a place where you keep wanting to return. It 's a bit busy, the decor... but eclectic and fun. Think, Alice in Wonderland fell into fine dining. The view. Hopefully you get a window seat on a clear day!! Yes, go try it! Vegetarian options: This is my go to with vegetarian friends. Vegans even. There 's always a couple options on Specials. And, the regular menu has plenty to choose from... you 're not just stuck looking at salad. Dietary restrictions: We had 2 guests one with allergies, one elderly with specific needs. They 're CAREFUL about allergies, checked each time the question was asked. My elderly Aunt raved about how perfectly they prepared to her specifications. Kid friendliness: Kids love this place, the vibrant colors, the activities left at the table, the view. The food options!!"

"The host could use a bit of coaching in terms of approachability and vocal presence, as they seemed quite shy and reserved for someone greeting guests at the restaurant. However, I'm sure it's just a matter of practice, as we were seated without issue. The menu matches what's currently available online and offers a nice selection of pub fare, including salads, sandwiches, burgers, special entrees, and a few unique bites. I found the prices to be reasonable for the location. What truly impressed us was the flavor. I usually bring my own spices because I've been let down by the lack of flavor in the Poconos before. I ordered the Cajun burger with sweet potato fries and was in heaven with its juicy, sweet, and savory taste. The pickles were thickly sliced, the remoulade was perfectly applied, and the chicken was fresh and not overly crispy. The brioche bun held up well, although I ultimately had to finish it with a knife and fork. My partner had the Impossible bacon burger, which was equally juicy and flavorful. The bacon was freshly cooked to perfection. Naturally, we had to return so my partner could try the Cajun burger too. We also ordered the PA appetizer plate, which amusingly came on a Pennsylvania-shaped cutting board. It included sauces in cups and side plates, but I must warn you that it’s a hefty amount of delicious food—perfect for sharing among four people or taking leftovers home! I also sampled the beef stew, which was served in a charming cauldron. It was hearty and came in a generous portion. My only minor complaints are that the service was a bit slow—though it is a resort, so the leisurely atmosphere fits—and the fries lacked salt, which they really needed. Seriously, this place provides a fantastic dining experience!"

"I've been here twice once last year, once just about a month ago. I know businesses have been struggling during the covid 19 situation so we really wanted to support them when indoor dining was available again and I'm so glad we did! The food was not only outstanding even better than I remember from our first visit but the staff was doing a really commendable job of making us feel safe and very welcome for our visit. Reservations are now mandatory, and they seemed to have diners spaced to no more than 1 2 tables per room. That really made the experience feel intimate and special. We called from outside once we arrived, they reminded us on the phone to have our masks on until inside and seated, and paper menus are currently in use. Last time we had ordered the Centerton sampler appetizer and I remembered it being a lot, so this time we stuck to the crab cakes to start. They were very rich and buttery, and loaded with crab meat. Husband got the Centerton salad while I stuck with a garden salad, as I have to be careful with garlic (and thankfully they warned us that the Centerton salad is very garlic forward. I'd seen someone online rave about their weekend special of a Salmon Wellington so I had to try that. Turned out I had the last one still available! Husband got the steak with blue cheese sauce. The salmon was outstanding and simply huge easily enough to have a nice lunch the next day with the leftovers. Well cooked, not overdone, and served with a delicious pepercorn sauce. Husband's steak was perfectly cooked and both entrees went down well with the Italian red wine we ordered. Dessert was an ooey gooey bread pudding that we somehow found room to share and some coffee to stay awake for the drive home. This is really a lovely place to go, perfect for a romantic evening out in a very historic setting. I definitely look forward to going back more in the future."
