"We were there for brunch the service was excellent and the food was divine. Best **** Mary I have ever had (and I've had them all over NYC and New England) We started with the pastry board which was delicious. The goat cheese omelette melted in my mouth and was paired with grilled asparagus that was perfection. Between all the members of our party we tried all the entrees and all were excellent. And desserts to die for!! A most wonderful and amazing meal!"

"Our experience was beyond amazing, we were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and it first started with excellent welcoming from our server Samantha! She gave us a card for our anniversary,then the real experience began, my wife started with a wonderful tasting cocktail Samantha recommended and I had a glass of wine, we started with the grand board and pastrami poutine, Absolutely amazing and when we couldn't finish it Samantha boxed it up with no problem, then our entrees came and My wife had the lamb and l I I had the chefs special which was a 16oz ribeye and boy both entrees were delicious, all of the food was beyond amazing we even got the chocolate terrain for dessert and it was very rich, because we were celebrating our anniversary we got a complementary glass of champagne, here wheres the customer service was top notch from Samantha, after we were done with our second round of drinks we closed our tab and left a tip but then we wanted more drinks ,we did this twice more and Samantha with no problem or attitude gladly reopened our tab then night was perfect, whoever reads this that's in management GIVE SAMANTHA A RAISE, she deserves it!!!"

"The only good thing I can say about this experience was that the food was good and had a nice presentation. The problem was that it took over an hour to get it! The server was there right when we sat down and we asked for 1 minute to look over the drink menu and we didn't see her back for about 15 minutes. We were heading to a show and I gave ourselves 1.5 hours to eat and we didn't even have enough time to enjoy our meal because by the time we got it we had to leave. I was surprised because it appeared that we were alone in the restaurant when we first walked in. I asked for our check when it was time to go and our check came out before our food. Then the screwed up my order and when they tried to fix it, the side came out burned. Really a terrible experience overall."

"This place is awful. Service is terrible, staff is rude and the man behind the bar has a staring problem. Makes a time out with friends very unpleasant. I had high hopes from the good reviews but was extremely disappointed. Appetizers were good, but their tomato sauce tastes like ketchup. And don’t get the tiramisu because if you’ve ever had tiramisu before, this one is pretty nasty. Spend your money somewhere else! Only tipped because I felt obliged. "Great food, great drinks great service as I’ve become accustomed to at Nicholas Barrel Roost. The only complaint I have is, this is the second time I’ve been there where there have been lots of gnats flying around the tables. I saw other tables swatting at the too so it’s not the food or the sweets but just their presence. I’ve been in the restaurant business in the past and have seen other kitchens that weren’t managed properly from a taking care of the trash and keeping the drains clean in the sinks as examples and I’m starting to get concerned and even grossed out a bit. This needs to be taken care of so people don’t assume it’s a cleanliness issue. Otherwise a great dinning experience overall and highly recommended."

"We had a late reservation and we sat outside with the newer seating area. It was lit perfectly as well as stocked with plenty of heaters. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful, very on the ball. We really enjoyed the fish and the short rib, as well as some great local wine. The little gem salad was great as well as the French onion soup. We were too full for dessert, but the menu also looked delicious! We had to make a reservation on Monday to be sat on Saturday so plan ahead! We will definitely be back when we are in the area."

"The service was exceptional—prompt yet not intrusive. The salmon was incredibly fresh, and the portion size was generous. The arugula and prosciutto pizza could have benefited from the addition of fontina cheese instead of just an abundance of cherry tomatoes that tended to roll off the slices, along with some unexpected cucumber slices. We appreciate the creativity in the menu, but it seems that the chef sometimes prioritizes variety over selecting ingredients that complement each other harmoniously in a dish. Lastly, we were grateful for the quiet table we were given."

"First off let me say the food was as good as it ever has been, staff were friendly and polite. But as my wife said and I agree with her the atmosphere was not the same. She had commented on the lack of tablecloths and the non uniform dress of the staff. Personally I thought smart casual dress was slacks and a collared shirt I noticed one table with several gentlemen in tee 's and the table next to us a young man in sweatpants. In the bar area who cares you have many events at the XL and people stop for a quick drink but when I 'm going out for a nice dinner at your prices I expect better. I can go anywhere to eat but when I go to Max on Main I expect more because that 's what you used to give your clients. Sorry but this trip was a bit of a disappointment."

"The noisiest restaurant we've visited in years! The long dining room features bare tables and hard surfaces everywhere, contributing to the din. The only dish we enjoyed was a beet salad. The soups were too spicy, the French chicken was served cold, and the fish we wanted was sold out. Instead, we received a salmon substitute served on succotash, rather than the original sides listed for the dish we ordered. Additionally, the wine list is filled with excessively priced selections. The owners should take a cue from the Hobbit, the top restaurant in Ocean City, which offers a diverse wine list with many fine and affordable options."

"My experience at this restaurant left me and my family feeling that there was an interesting difference in the service that we didn 't observe with other customers. 1.We arrived around 4:40 (the restaurant was basically empty) and was given the option of a table until 530pm or the chefs bar which is in front of the kitchen. While I can understand there are reservations made, I found this more odd considering a couple got seated at the same time as us. 2. We were then given the late lunch menu, eventhough dinner began at 5pm where an older white couple who arrived at the same time was given the dinner menu. When asking the hostess why we didn 't get offered the same menu, I was told I arrived before 5. When we left the restaurant, the couple we got seated with was enjoying dinner. The restaurant attendants were nice and the food was good but I found our overall treatment by the hostess to be interesting and less than ideal. My family and I will not be returning."

"This review is for the restaurant Trattoria Fondi at the Bedford Village Inn. Trattoria Fondi has been operating in BVI since October 2022.My husband and I went there for our anniversary dinner. It was excellent. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. We were seated at a cozy table by the fireplace and given a card by BVI wishing us a Happy Anniversary.Our waitress was wonderful and attentive.The house made bread was fresh and delicious.We ordered the Gorgonzola Dolce so good! It was served with delicious crackers that they make in house along with nuts, honey and fig jam.I ordered the Verdi Amari (bitter greens) salad arugula, radicchio, fennel and perfectly supremed orange segments. It was very good.For my entree, I ordered the Tagliatelle alla Zafferano (saffron tagliatelle) with count neck clams. It was good but it tasted a tad bit salty for my taste and I wish the taste of the wine sauce was more pronounced. Perhaps because I was assuming it would taste more like a vongole, which it obviously is not.My husband ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara I would definitely recommend this as it was very good. Next time I go there I will definitely order this.The servings were appropriately sized for a multi course meal, so you can enjoy various items from the menu without feeling as though you've eaten too much.We finished with the Tiramisu, which was delicious!Thank you BVI Fondi for giving us a beautiful and memorable anniversary dinner!"

"This wine bar has a cozy beach vibe and offers a full bar selection from Mercedes. The flatbreads are delicious, although we didn't explore the full food menu. The service is excellent, and the bartenders are fantastic. Perhaps most importantly, it's a great spot for locals to gather. During our last visit, every seat at the bar was taken by residents who live within a mile of the place."

"This review is for Vela Italian Tavern. Cru Cellars was experiencing flooding and reached out to let me know they couldn’t serve food and couldn’t host our reservation, but they had made us a reservation at their sister restaurant, Vela. I wrote that it was my best friends birthday, and Cru Cellars assured me they let Vela know as well. I called Vela to confirm we would be coming, and again reiterated it was my best friend’s birthday. Vela is out of our way and somewhere we wouldn’t have normally gone and it was our first time. The server was wonderful and very attentive, but I was extremely disappointed that they didn’t even acknowledge it was my best friends birthday. They did nothing for her birthday whatsoever. We don’t get to go out often because she has a child and we work full time and don’t get to see each other often at all, I was hoping they would do anything to make her feel special on her birthday."

"tim was fantastic. he gave great cocktail recommendations, and his whisky cocktail rek was amazing. we have the salumi formaggio for a starter. the cheese was 2 very thin discs vs a very generous prosciutto and speculation. it seemed strange. my man has the ragu. the pasta was delicious and fresh, but the ragu amount was very minimal. I also expected for $36 more than 4 very small scallops, which seemed to be just a garnish for the brussel sprouts and cauliflower pure. it was tasty, but it just seemed strange that the protein component of both meals was very inconvenient. we ended up on a good note with fantastic desserts and drinks after dinner. overall a good experience, but for a 40th birthday party, I felt as if we were offered a fairly minimal food experience and I did not go with the feeling that I would rush back or prioritize a return visit vs try other local options. positiw: our server and cocktails. house made focaccia! negatiw: 4 very small scallops for $36 is quite shocking and hopefully this was a clear view. more than one spoon of ragu (birth or not) would have increased the pasta much more"

"I was called by Tom George to let me know that they were not going to be serving brunch during the summer months, only dinner. The hostess was very nice and asked me to reschedule for dinner which I did. The hostess also offered my party a round of drinks for the inconvenience. So I arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm on Sunday as I scheduled to celebrate Father's Day with my family and the restaurant was closed. We were very surprised and disappointed. The restaurant did not call the next day and I decided I will not try to eat there again. So on Sunday I went to LA Chapter at the Ace Hotel where we had a lovely dinner which I knew I would because I have been there before.I do not know whose responsibility it is on Open Table to be sure the information about a restaurant is up to date and accurate, but nothing like this has ever happened to me at any restaurant before."

"This was the second time we had dinner here. Love the food and service, and the decor is quite nice. The acoustics are TERRIBLE--if you have the bad luck of having some loud people in the space, you can barely hear your dining companion across the table. This place would be so a jewel f they made a small investment in some ceiling tiles or sound absorbing wall coverings. Until that happens, we can't recommend and won't be coming back."
