"We went with high expectations hoping to find a place as good as Brooklyn’s Llama Inn in Manhattan but came out very disappointed. Maybe they were overwhelmed because of Restaurant Week. We had booked a standard dining table for pm which was not available when we got there. At pm they offered us seats at the high tables. When we pointed out that OpenTable lets you select which type of seating you prefer, first they tried to argue that that was not true and then finally moved us to the dining room.Service in the dining room was mediocre. Our water glasses were not refilled, I finished a cocktail with the appetizer and asked to see the wine list to order wine for the rest of the meal, somebody brought the list and the waiter never came to take the wine order. They never took the list or the empty cocktail glass off the table. The dining room was very full and it looked like there was only one waiter available so he clearly could not keep up.The food was OK not great. We ordered ceviche which was bland and crispy dumplings which were good except that the sauce was salty to the point of being inedible. For entrees we ordered the seafood risotto, which was the best dish of the evening, and the arroz con pato, recommended by the waiter and also quite bland and flavorless. The quinoa brownie desserts were entirely forgettable. So we are back to trekking to Brooklyn for great Peruvian food"

"Went with family for my aunt’s birthday. No one was at the host station to seat us and when someone did come it was one of the waiters. After a few minutes we got the salsa and chips. However, as we are waiting there was constant singing. I don’t mindlive entertainment but it seemed like the band was playing to almost every table. Fifteen to 20 more minutes pass by and thewaiter comes by to get our drinks. When the drinks finally come, only two come because the iced tea is “freshly brewed”.Both drinks are watered down. As the waiter takes our order we feel a sense of being rushed? And forget about asking anyquestions pertaining to the dish you want, it won’t really be answered. We eventually decided to walk out after waiting foranother twenty minutes(the place was NOT packed at all and the other drinks STILL had not come out yet. As we are about to walkaway the waiter states our food is “almost done” “it’s already done” and we ask for it to go. He clearly packs it uphurriedly so we can pay and go. DO NOT PAY WITH CARD! We read that they like to dip in and take tip amounts off your card whenthey feel like it. Anyways, my mother’s food was cold (how when you claimed it was just made? fried calamari shouldn’t becold… the food didn’t smell right from the bag, the beans looked terrible and cold. We won’t be coming here again. Just goto Cast Iron down the way!!"

"I think I just don't have luck at restaurants named Agave. While the place looks cute, its lack of flavor (or just basic seasonings like salt) make this a place not worth visiting. I appreciate that there was Valet because there is limited street parking and their lot was small. My husband said the valet was rude, but I didn't witness it myself. We were a very large table, so while accommodating, service was very slow and we probably should've had two dedicated waiters vs the poor nice waitress who was completely overwhelmed. Drinks were OK, but everything was watered down and there are no prices on the drink menu. I think we finally ordered appetizers about an hour after we arrived( and entrees about 45 minutes after that). While there was a nice presentation the food was terrible. The cheese fondue, has zero flavor (honestly you couldn't even tell there was cheese) it was a soupy thin mess with chewy shrimp inside. I kept trying to figure out the flavor, and I assume they didn't make the flour mixture in it correctly. The chips they brought out with it were stale, and nothing like the chips we had with a snack (although they never refilled them and we had a tiny helping to share between 6 people. We also split tostados, which looked good but still lacked flavor, even the crema was bland. Since I could tell how the food was I opted for a burrito bowl, but was still dissatisfied. Overall while it may be cute for a birthday, you are better off going to chipotle where the food is much better and at least the service is fast. I have photos but they aren't even worth it to post."

"We have been there several times. We usually walk in, this time we made a reservation because it was a special occasion. My mom had pollo a la braza half chicken, salad and french fries) which had a visible butt, tripe and feathers attached. In a calm manner we notified the server, the server notified the short Latino guy who is at the entrance checking in people with reservations. He came over, we showed him, he had the guts to tell me the feathers and the butt were on the bottom not on top. I said excuse me, I believe chicken must be cleaned before being cooked. Before I could finish talking he took the plate saying that was not the place to discuss the issue. He left like a little kid throwing a tantrum, never came back to at least apoligize like any other restaurant would have done. The server brought the check, she said they took off the chicken from our bill. That man needs to learn some customer service skills, needs to learn how to treat people with respect and dignity. We have been there before, he picks and chooses who to be friendly with, this is the second time we have an issue with him. The food is always great, first time we have an issue with the food, unfortunately he didn't handle it properly. Yes we might be back and hopefully next time he greets us and treats us with respect and dignity, we deserve to have a decent meal and our dinner and family time is not ruined."
