"When I visited recently, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. No one greeted me as I sat down, and I noticed the menu had changed. A guy, who later introduced himself as the GM named Ryan (though I have my doubts about that), stood by waiting for my order without a friendly demeanor. He didn’t provide any silverware, straws, or napkins, so I had to go to the bar to get those myself.
I ordered the brisket tacos, but there was no indication on the menu whether they were beef or pork. I take responsibility for not asking beforehand. After tasting the taco, my stomach began to hurt, so I flagged Ryan down to change my order to go. I also inquired about whether it was beef or pork, but he just asked someone at the bar rather than offering a direct answer—apparently, he runs the place!
When it came time for the bill, I noticed I was still being charged for the food I hadn’t eaten. When I asked him to remove it, he flatly refused, saying he wouldn't give away food and threatening to call the police on me. I told him to go ahead; it's outrageous to charge me for something I neither wanted nor touched! It felt as though he doubted my ability to pay for my meal.
I couldn’t help but wonder if this was a case of racial or gender discrimination. I was the only Black woman in the restaurant at the time, surrounded by white patrons whom he seemed eager to assist. When I asked for the owner’s name, he refused to give it to me, insisting he managed everything. I couldn’t get any information to escalate this issue, which is why I’m sharing my experience here.
This world can be filled with terrible people! Do not go to this restaurant! The staff is not the same as it used to be. I hope the new owners will bring back the friendly atmosphere I once loved. I am truly horrified by my experience today and just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone thinking of visiting. The menu has changed completely, too! If the actual owner sees this, please reach out to me—this is not how your employees should treat customers!"
