"Amazing salsa !! Great service and a fun environment !!! But they need better chefs with more than one cooking style who know how NOT to overcook all the meat they offer. ALL dishes taste very similar! All with burnt burn marks on "whatever" meat, mixed with similar spices and all well done to finish cooking. The burned cremation, like a fajitas, but for every dish? This is the second time that I had to come here with the same results ... I refuse the next time I am invited ... Maybe have a drink because the mood is good and fun ... she just need better cooks ..."

"I had dinner there with my family after receiving rave reviews of the restaurant. Our server was very nice, but marginally incompetent. He didn't know many details about the menu when asked for details. One of the starters was served without any of the 3 ingredients (olives with canned citrus and fried parsley - served without the fried parsley - not the waiter's fault). The waiter presented the special as an appetizer, but it was actually an appetizer. My main course (or should I say "starter") was served about 5 minutes after the rest of my table had already served their main courses. I was able to order another main course when it was clear that I had ordered an appetizer, but by then the rest of the table was done with the main course. The rest of the people at my table enjoyed the food and the beers were delicious, but overall my experience was not great."

"First, if you have issues doing stairs, you may want to reconsider. There is seating on the main floor but it is extremely noisy! Once we were seated it took over 10 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. Meanwhile two of his tables that were seated after us had drinks and knew the specials. This type of lack of service continued through the night. If you are 20-30 something you were attended to. A woman in her 70’s, one in her 50’s and one in her 20’s were not. It is becoming a consistent theme here in Boston."

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"The service was terrible all around. We weren’t the only table. People were complaining all around us. Our food came out at the wrong time (appetizers after entrees and this was happening at other tables. My wife had to send her steak back as she ordered it medium well and it was clearly medium rare. It came back to her from the kitchen pretty much unchanged. Nobody cleared our plates until we were absolutely out of room at the table and we still had to ask. I was offered someone else’s food twice. The waiter kept telling everyone that the kitchen had to serve both restaurants at the hotel and the food runners were bringing food out as soon as it was done. This is patently ridiculous and didn’t change the fact that everyone at the restaurant was unprepared and undertrained. It was Valentines Day and our waiter told us it was his food runner’s first day on the job (this explains why he served the bread for our table by placing it right in front of me instead of the middle of the table but why hadn’t he been trained to take dirty dishes away? This restaurant has a lot of potential as it offers an excellent wine list with even premium wines by the glass. The food was OK but wasn’t overpriced so even that wasn’t bad. They just don’t seem to have their act together and need to be trained from the back of the house to the front of the house in order to become what they seem to want to be. Too many mistakes to warrant another try."

"I've been to Baratta's before. But, today was something a little different. I had a client in from Omaha. I wanted her to experience some local dining with some old school charm. The setting was very nice. One of the owners (Joe) met us at the door and sat us right away at our table. The waitress was around to get our drink order very quickly and happily covered the specialties when I asked. The special of the day was a cheese ravioli in a lemon sauce. This sounded new and interesting to me so that's what I ordered. The atmosphere was great. We were able to discuss a few work items and then moved on to other conversation. There were 4 of us total. Before long our lunch had arrived. Not only was it very visually appealing but I'm being honest in saying that I don't believe I've every had a better pasta dish in my 50 years on the planet. I've had other favorites at Baratta's in the past but have never heard of or tried this dish before. I've got a new favorite and I would recommend anything on the menu but if you see a cheese ravioli in lemon sauce you must try it. Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was excellent, the price was very affordable and we were able to dine at our own pace. With such a short drive from downtown Des Moines it will be a business lunch staple from here on out."

"Attended my first Elite Yelp event at the Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. I attended other events as a plus one but this was better because now I was elite and I already knew some of the players like my friend Bill S who introduced me to this wonderful world of Yelp. What makes these events great to me are the friendly yelpers who attend with their honest fair reviews and most important is the generous hospitality of the restaurant owners. Once we arrived the Mill Creek Tavern Staff had everything prepared waiting for us. We started with their specialty drinks, Dark and Stormy, Pumpkin Ale and Sang-Rose with sorbet. My fav was the dark and stormy, Black Rum, Pumpkin Beer and Lime Juice. Then all the samples of food came out, Filet Mignon Crostini, Seafood Ceviche, Mussels Provençale, Sauerbraten Short Rib Sliders, Jager Schnitzel Sliders, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Mac Cheese, Brat in a Blanket, Pretzel Baked Brie, Burrata Crostini, Shrimp Cocktail and Artichoke Risotto Cakes. There was so much to choose from, It was like cocktail hour at a weeding and the food just kept coming. Then desert, I was already full at this point but of course had to try. Berries Cream, Chocolate Mouse, Mini Purple Cow Floats and Mini Brownie Sundays. All were delicious. The event went fast, everyone was enjoying themselves socializing, eating and experiencing great service. The staff didn't miss a beat, they just kept coming out with food being efficient, friendly and courteous, even the owner Rich came out and not only served food he also mingled with us speaking to everyone and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a great time seemed to be had by all. I know a lot goes into this planning one of theses events. I am grateful for the Rich, the owner for opening up his restaurant to us, the staff for just great services and to Drew for organizing this. Mill Creek Tavern is a great place to eat, not only is the food really good, the décor is very pleasing, they even have a fireplace. One can enjoy this restaurant year round. I will return and would definitely recommend dining here."

"This charming little diner has a nostalgic, old-school vibe and is family-run. The owner, Dino, is also the cook, and his daughters are incredibly kind and welcoming. They are attentive to special dietary needs, including allergies. It does get quite busy, so planning your visit is essential, but the wait is definitely worth it. "Great place great ambiance! We did the happy hour menu which was great. Only thing we didn’t particularly enjoy was the Tiramisu tasted great but not fully captured the nature of tiramisu. Service was amazing. The drinks were all great. And the menu items we had were great also. They also took great care of our little guy so he felt special too. Great find and nicely located!"

"Where do I start?! Greeted at the door! Our table and high chair all ready. Our server was friendly and very nice. Suggested an area to put our birthday cake and supplies until needed. "My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and were seated straight away. As the Burmese restaurant is in the area, we really looked forward to this experience. While we were in no hurry the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they urged to have a meal order at the same time. We wait to order the food until the drinks have been brought to us. We ordered the Burmese beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (fish noodle soup). The sauces on the meat stews were good, but not spectacular! The stew was definitely not tender. If you like tough meat then these dishes are for you. In addition, the Moh Hin Ga lacked taste and in the words of my colleagues: "I would not order it again". Also soft drinks and iced tea and refilled for free. Given the rush and subpar experience, won't be returning. Given their great Yelp reviews, it seems like there are plenty of customers out there who like it. Maybe we only visited them on a bad day or the normal cook wasn't around that day ..."

"They?re ripping people off. This is definitely not 1 pound of wings. I?ve worked in a restaurant so I know it isn?t. I also asked first to make sure they weren?t doing that and the guy say, it?s usually about 12 wings, which makes sense. 10 if they?re big of course. But this? No way. I?m at the Rio a lot and just decided to grab something from here to go for the first time, never again. At least give people what they pay for. $20 is already too much for the wings so they least you can do is give the customer a full pound. Terrible."

Half off wine Wednesday you can?t beat that. Carlos was our server it was his 3rd day on the floor and he is doing a great job, we was in a room with 3 big parties so remember socialize"
