"Ambiance was decent and wait staff was good. Other than that nothing else I can say positively bout this placeOur meals were luke warm, blend and some of the sides had no taste to them whatsoever. While they have a bar and there own cocktails if you ask for something not on the menu, u probably wont get it. And yes, unfortunately even the cocktail drinks we did order tasted horrible. Bad bar staff..On top of all this, it took them almost an hour for them to bring our food out. Two kids meals, a chicken plate and crab cakes. I was very upset to say the least.Stay away. Go to Perry's Steakhouse next door. Exceptional food, service and bar area."

"This is a really nice place! The table was kind of sticky and not well cleaned. But other than that everything was great. Price, servers and the treatment were amazing. The house was full, another indication that the place is a nice restaurant. All meat is halal another reason to be a loyalist. Plenty of parking outside and we didn't wait a lot despite being Friday night."

"During my first visit, I was quite disappointed, especially given the positive ratings. The menu had some good options and was reasonably priced, but the food was just mediocre, with the exception of the babaganoush. The service left much to be desired, even on a slow night with less than 25% occupancy. The lamb shish was of good quality but extremely dry; I ended up having to drench it in the oil and vinegar that came with the pita. On a positive note, the babaganoush was tasty, mildly smoky, and the chunks of eggplant added a nice texture."

"This was an excellent meal! The menu was very creative and interesting I felt there were many things I could have ordered! And the preparation was excellent! The service was great, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating and they dealt very professionally and carefully with the COVID risks! All in all, a great experience! I'd highly recommend it particularly the cauliflower entree it was so good that we ordered an order for takeout the next night to have at home. Also, I strongly recommend the stuffed eggplant. This is a recipe that is very popular in Turkey, where I've eaten it many times, and this was one of the, if not the best, preparation of it I have ever had!"

"Delicious food wonderful service! I have been here with my friends and family quite a few times now and I always have a great experience. While the food is on the pricier end, the portions are a great size. The service has always been wonderful and everyone is very sweet. They have some of the best hummus w meat I’ve ever tasted. Their chicken kabob plate is delicious as well. I highly recommend stopping by here with your loved ones or ordering takeout! Don’t forget to grab some of their traditional rice pudding, it’s delicious!!"

"As a big fan of the grill next door, I was also happy to see this new little cafe open up. Serving traditional and modern desserts, this little coffee shop specializes in Turkish delicacies. I had a latte and my family got some assorted desserts and tea. Everything was very tasty. The cafe is very cozy with decent sitting and hangout areas. The staff speaks Turkish and they were very accommodating to us. Prices are pretty average. Only downside is parking but that is typical for New Brunswick."

"The food was quite good. I had never tried falafel before, and I found it enjoyable. "The restaurant is not very conducive to dining in, but they did accommodate us when we were too hungry to do takeout. They offer a variety of coffee, lattes, pastries, and sandwiches at great prices. They also have a selection of different exotic teas that are worth trying. Their sauerkraut and pickles are delicious and beneficial for your gut health. The cashiers are very friendly. It's more like a friendly Polish grocery store that also offers deli foods if there is a dining table available. They serve fresh Polish soups, both vegetarian and beef, which are usually served hot. It's recommended to ask the deli staff to heat your food safely if you plan on dining in, as some of the food may not be hot or safe enough. Most of the deli food is likely meant to be taken home and reheated."

"Went here for lunch later in the afternoon and it was a good experience overall. Server was friendly and service was good. The ambiance inside and out were also very laid back with good lighting. It was lightly drizzling so we didn?t get to go outside. We tried the falafel and the mixed plate (sampler for all the grilled meats). The mixed plate was pretty solid, the bread that was also served is excellent! I recommend ordering the mixed plate if sharing with two people, I also think the any of the kebab entrees are a good option for a single meal. I can recommend cafe Istanbul and had a good experience here."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time hoping to enjoy some delicious Turkish cuisine. However, when our food arrived, I tasted the rice and was at a loss for words—I just can't describe how off it tasted. There was something definitely wrong with it. I also noticed that there weren't any Turkish staff in the restaurant. The overall cleanliness of the place was quite lacking. We ordered three different dishes, and unfortunately, all of them were disappointing and unappetizing. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all; I’d suggest heading to the McDonald's next door instead."

"I recently moved from Virginia and decided to try Turkish Lazuri Cafe based on the many recommendations I received. I must say, it was absolutely delicious and as clean as advertised. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The service was impressively quick; we weren’t kept waiting at all, and everything was served fresh and hot. We tried both the Lahmacun and the Adana kebab, which were crispy and flavorful—truly reminiscent of authentic Turkish cuisine. The restaurant itself was spotless, and the menu boasted a wide variety of options that I thoroughly enjoyed. The prices were reasonable given the quality of the food. "Let's start with the spinning fire pit as soon as you walk in, it's hot inside and smells like grilled meat ughhh great sign! We were greeted by the grill chefs and waitress who then seated us. Ordered the chicken doner and the chicken adana and it comes with a small salad and bread. The food was reasonably priced and tasted amazing! My chicken doner was so good that a day later I ended up ordering delivery because I was dreaming about those flavorful, tender, chicken thighs that have been spinning for hours then shaved off while all the juices are still running down that huge chunk of spinning chicken. The bread the give you with your meal is so good, it's like a thick pita like bun. Ripped pieces of bread with meat and some salad. Their sauces are made in house, you can taste the dill in their white sauce. Great food, the chicken adana was really good, order the large so you can have 2 skewers and not one. Their hot sauce is pretty mild but adds another layer of flavor when added. I will most definitely be eating here again whether I order online or physically go there and eat. Check them out!"

"Nazar is hands down one of my favorite Turkish spots in NY! It’s both a restaurant and grocery store in one location, which is super convenient. My go-to is the mix grill—it’s packed with all their delicious meats like lamb chop, Adana kebab, and kofte. And the white rice? I could eat that by itself—it’s that good! They offer complimentary tea, which is perfect for winter days. After dining, you pay at the grocery cashier, which makes the whole experience unique. Their lamacun is the best I’ve had in NY, freshly baked and worth the 7-10 minute wait. I still need to try their popular mix appetizers, but the specials like lentil soup and cheesy creamy chicken are top-notch. The staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. Plenty of seating, amazing food, and great service—definitely recommend!"
