"As an asian, I feel disappointed. This is the most white washed restaurant I’ve been to. The restaurant claims to aim for “authenticity” but it’s the most tryhard, LEAST japanese or asian restaurant. I get it, I’m not the target audience. I’ve been to plenty of asian and japanese authentic restaurants and this restaurant absolutely does not perform up to “authenticity” standards. Decor /restaurant atmosphere: 2/10. It’s pretty clean, but way too small and makes me feel claustrophobic. Also, they’re playing Japanese music in the bathrooms and putting decor, (but the japanese music sucks) and overall it looks like you went to a thrift shop, bought 5 random items and placed them in the restaurant. The restaurant is filled with frames of “japanese foods” that are stock photos from the internet. food negative 100000/10. this is the most disgusting ramen i’ve ever had in my entire life and i’m not even a picky eater. i asked the waitress “is this soup salty”? she told me it was barely salty, so i ordered it (the tantan ramen) because it claimed to have “creamy broth” i ate instant noodles (bowl noodle soup) the day before, and the broth looked the exact same. cheap, disgusting, watery and INCREDIBLY, ASTRONOMICALLY salty broth. the waitress either lied to me or doesn’t know what the definition of salty means. i swear, this ramen tasted exactly like those frozen japanese ramens where you pour boiled water, wait five minutes and eat it. but even that tastes significantly better than what they served me. price: 1/10. are you kidding me, 17.95 USD for this trash? that’s like over 20 canadian dollars. Why would people spend money on this white washed, overpriced food? I swear this restaurant brainwashes people. I’m extremely disappointed.
