"I must say, I was genuinely surprised by this place. I would label it as a Hidden Gem; its location and the unassuming appearance of the strip mall can easily mislead you. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, and although the interior shows some signs of age, it was very well-maintained and clean from what I could see. The prices are quite reasonable, and I was impressed by the generous portion sizes. My meal was ready in just 10 minutes, and it was delicious, even without any added spices. I ordered the house special rice, which comes with shrimp, beef, and chicken. I have a healthy appetite, so I could have easily finished it on my own, but in reality, the portion is enough for two people. It cost just a little over $10."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent—friendly and prompt—and the prices were very reasonable. Our meals were made to order and arrived at our table quickly. I visited with a group, and we enjoyed sharing a variety of appetizers. My egg drop soup had a slight orange hue (I'm used to seeing it more yellow), but it was delicious. The crab rangoon and potstickers were also wonderful, and my Hunan beef was great as well. I’m definitely planning to return. I've heard mixed opinions about the place since the owner and manager changed, but my experience in mid-July 2019 was superb overall."

"This is the best Chinese takeout in the area! Those who rated it 1-3 stars must be mistaken; this place is excellent. The staff are friendly, and the food tastes better than any other Chinese takeout around. There’s no excessive salt or grease—clearly, the chef knows what they’re doing. "First hours back in the states and we got settled in our NYC hotel, we or I needed a drink. After walking around a bit we stumbled into a Hotel Bar the Perrine. It's beautiful inside, the barkeep greeted us with a smile and a menu. I ordered a Kettle One martini up with a twist. My love ordered an Oh my gatto, aka kitty. Hendrix Gin with lime and cucumber. It was delicious. One of my favorite things is sitting at a quite bar, having a drink with you my love. We got to spend an amazing time together on our trip and what's more...we're going to make it a forever thing. I can't wait to say I do...to you and to our love. "We had the private event room booked for my grandfathers 90th birthday about a month in advance. On the day of, we entered the restaurant and we're told there was another party that was booked for our same time and we were essentially forced to leave because the people in our party are elderly and cannot be in a shared space as it is loud and crowded. Hence why we booked the private room in the first place. Just be aware of you are trying to plan a party here..."

"I believe China Star deserves a three-star rating because their food is really good! I've read that many people find the food at the lunch buffet to be cold, but in my experience, it's always been tasty. I would recommend ordering take-out since the interior of the restaurant isn't very appealing and that somewhat affected my appetite. However, the food is fantastic, and I hear they are planning to renovate the interior, which means that food lovers won't just have to rely on take-out in the future. You can tell the dishes are prepared well and are not frozen. It's definitely worth ordering from there; just remember to get take-out!"

"I ordered spicy tangy chicken, but that was also a letdown. As for the service, my order wasn't completed as I had requested in the app. When I pointed this out, the server checked again, confirmed that I had entered it correctly, but explained that the system had run it together somehow. In my opinion, the food was just not good—bland and greasy. To make matters worse, they refused to refund my money. They did offer to add the missing vegetables to my stir-fry and to exchange the tangy spicy chicken for a different kind, but only for that same night, and they were closing at 10:30 PM. I explained that I wouldn’t be able to return by then, but I could have someone come by tomorrow to pick up the order since I was just passing through Houston and leaving in the morning. They still refused, insisting it had to be done that night. Because of this experience, I rate the service as poor as well."

"To start, this restaurant introduced me to what I believe is called sesame beef. I ordered egg foo young, rice, and sesame beef, intending it to be a meal for two. However, what I received was just one piece of egg foo young, some rice, and a portion of sesame beef that was completely dry, without any sauce — essentially just dry beef chunks. They mentioned that a refund for this order is in process, but it really spoiled our meal for the entire evening. Simply offering to refund the item we actually wanted and sending a nearly vegetarian meal for one is not acceptable. They should have prioritized sending the complete order. I won’t be coming back."

"I was disheartened to see that Grace Garden is now available on DoorDash. My wife and I have been loyal customers for 11 years, and they had never participated in a delivery service before. My concerns were confirmed when I got home and examined the food. It looked and tasted incredibly bland. It seems they are using fewer fresh ingredients and resorting to bulk, store-bought items. This was my go-to Chinese restaurant with fantastic food for the past 12 years! It appears that the new management is trying to transform this once-great establishment into a mini Panda Express. I am truly disappointed by this change."
