"Farewell to the famous pizzeria, this was the last day for them after serving Brooklyn and beyond with love and pies. Today the line was around the block, and according to a neighbor, it's been like this for the last few days after they announced they were closing for good. Many devotees were taking live video, doing tiktocs, and posting selfies on Facebook of them leaving with their last slice. It was a strange bittersweet moment of reminiscence and a marker of time passing: People in line playing the song from the opening scene, reminiscing about old Brooklyn, looking at the vintage electric sign and photos of Travolta and Stallone, all this contrasting with passersby riding past on electric skateboards and a drone flying overhead taking footage of the line. Cars, trucks, and busses were honking and yelling out the window as they passed. It was a good turnout of old school New Yorkers and the typical Brooklyn love: everyone conversating like old friends, united in paying respects to an institution and a unique part of classic New York."
