"First time eating here in 20 years, (I think the owners have changed hands since then. Nevertheless lots of food options for vegan. Just be sure to ask them if there is any dairy or animal products (like Naan bread has egg in it . I ordered the BAIGAN BHURTA entrée. Delishous! Note- I asked the waiter if the vegetables were cooked on the same surface as their animal meat. He said no. Seems that some restaurants even though they claim her dishes vegan will still sautéed vegetables on the same grill top that they will also grilled meat on. Be sure to ask that wherever you go! Will definitely come back again and try some other dishes."

The spiciness is just right! It's really excellent, much like many other Indian restaurants in more affordable neighborhoods.

I just picked up some takeout, and it was fantastic! I can't wait to try it again soon. The restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent.

The spice levels are spot on! The food is quite good, similar to what you would find at many Indian restaurants in areas with a small minority population.

I've been a regular at this restaurant for years. I really enjoy the chicken curry, and I've tried it with spice levels ranging from five to ten. Personally, I prefer my curry to... View menu

What I love most about Taj is that the menu clearly identifies what is appropriate for vegans. I don't have to ask a bunch of questions of wait staff. Also, the food is delicious! Love this place.

I did ask the waiter if the vegetables were cooked on the same surface as the meat, and he assured me they were not. I've noticed that some restaurants, even those claiming to serve vegan dishes, may still use the same grill for both vegetarian and meat items. So, it's essential to confirm these details with the staff! I will definitely be returning to try more dishes. View menu

I ordered takeout of Pakoras and Tandoor Vegetables, and both were outstanding. The Level 4 spice was just perfect for my taste. The vegetables were a great variety and cooked to perfection. The rice was fragrant and tasty enough to enjoy on its own, though I wouldn’t want to miss out on the other dishes! The only downside was that there were no vegan bread options, but I still highly recommend this place!

I've been visiting Taj Mahal for years, and I absolutely love the variety of vegan options they offer! The service is consistently excellent, and they have a lunch buffet on weekdays and Sunday evenings. However, I did hear from another vegan that the rice might have contained ghee or milk at some point, which led him to stop dining there. I spoke to the owner and the waitstaff, and they assured me that they no longer use those ingredients, but I received mixed responses. So if you're vegan, be sure to ask or let them know about your dietary needs.

"The only reason this restaurant, if that’s what they call themselves, gets a star is because they have a decent wine list at a reasonable price. Otherwise, our experience tonight was absolutely miserable. A group of healthcare professionals booked a table to celebrate a milestone achievement for one of the programs at the nearby hospital. We ordered two bottles of quite expensive wine worth about $500. Never mind that they didn’t have our first choice; it happens. Then, after quite a long wait, the appetizers came. I have never seen a bruschetta served as pieces of cheap, mushy bread toast separate from the toppings, which came in a salad bowl. It was pretty much a “make your own bruschetta,” and it tasted disgusting. The olives and cheese plate were tasteless. We shrugged it off and ordered the main entrees. Five of us ordered the same main course. After at least 20 more minutes, the waitress returned to inform us that “unfortunately, the dish we had ordered is not available.” By that time, one of us, who had ordered an appetizer as an entree, left without being served because she got tired of waiting. We were quite shocked by the casual, nonchalant attitude, but as we were very hungry, we went with alternative choices, all of which arrived overcooked. Another waiter bringing the dishes had no idea who was ordering what and just threw the plates on the table. Worst of all, there was zero remorse or apology from the staff or the manager, and of course, the check had arrived in full, including the 18% “big party tip.” I won’t even go into minor details, such as the absolutely horrendous French onion soup, forgetting sugar, water, and wine glasses, etc. I don’t know if this establishment has management (no one came to talk to us), but if so, you should be ashamed of how you treated us tonight. Your staff’s attitude was ridiculous, and they obviously take no pride whatsoever in what they do. We paid in full and left. If any of you guys happen to be at the nearby hospital (God forbid), please do come see us. We will teach you what “taking good care of people” is all about, from A to Z. Shame on you for ruining our evening."
