"My wife and I had dinner at Max's and were seated upstairs. Upon leaving, I slipped and fell on their staircase, where someone had spilled a drink. Two diners helped me up and to a chair, as the manager watched. The manager turned to my wife and said "Have you paid your bill?" My wife said yes and he then said he needed our contact information for insurance. No offer was made to comp our meal, he seemed relieved that we had paid and they wouldn't be out the cost of the meal. I injured my shoulder in the fall and immediately called my doctor. No one from Max's ever contacted me to express any sympathy or see if I were all right. After seeing my doctor, I called Max's to confirm I had injured my shoulder and was scheduled for X-rays and an MRI. Five days later, my call finally was returned. The Director of Operations apologized and offered to send me a gift certificate. The gift certificate arrived and it was made out to the wrong name and for a fraction of what our meal had cost. I returned the gift certificate and told them how poorly they had handled this situation. When their insurance company called me, the interview was like an inquisition. It was evident they were trying to make it seem as if I had been negligent. I called Max's after my MRI to say I would require surgery and they should notify their insurance company of such. I again told them how disappointed I was with how this situation had been handled. The Director of Operations said "I wish there were something I could do to win you back, but I don't think there is." In other words, we are not even going to try. What really galled me was her comment "those stairs have always been an issue." Final insult is that their insurance company has refused any liability and now I am responsible for the medical fees and face a surgery with 4-6 months of rehab. If someone had simply called within 48 hours to say "we are so sorry and wanted to check on you," I would probably feel very different about the outcome. But, I guess that was too much to expect. My family and I had patronized both Max's and Tarrant's for years and now we have a very bad impression of both. Thank you Max's for an evening I will never forget."

"6 of us had dinner last night in le french dnever. we ordered drinks 2 ordered the blueberry lavender margaritas and two of us ordered the ananas old fashion. the waiter convinced us two switches from the old fashion into a traditional manhattan with basil haydon bourbon. I ordered the french wobbles as an appetizer, which was delicious, and the mushes as entree. my mushes were only warm and most mushles were very small and cooked over. all the big mushes (5) did not open when they were cooked so they could not be eaten. the dinner of my wife, the scallops, were also warm. I told the waiter that the big mushes did not open, he said he would talk to the kitchen, but nothing was done. when we got the ****, my friend was and I shocked that they had charged us $21 for everyone. the drink specialities were only $14 that the waiter had convinced us to change from the manhattans. we checked the menu, including the drink card, and there was no price for manhattans. we wanted to talk to the manager he was over, but did nothing else than to say that their drinks are based on the trips in shanahans steak house. we googled shanahans menu and the price for a manhattan was just $14, so the manager was fos. I feel that we were deceived by the waiter to change a bait. we told the manager and the waiter that we would never put foot in this restaurant again. I would have deducted $15 from the waiter tip, the height I feel for the 2 manhattans overloaded, but the congratulation was automatically added to our bill due to the size of the party. is pre-warned. Make sure they know the price of the drink they order, especially if no price is listed on their drink menu."

"We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and needless to say it was great in some areas and others not so much. We were told Happy Anniversary good start and were brought a complimentary glass of bubbly to cheers better start! . I really enjoyed this : For a Saturday night, the place was packed. Like others have mentioned, the bistro tables are so close to one another. The busser had to pull out our table all the way out so that I could sit on the booth side b/c there's no way I could get in from other side. He then pushed the table back in and then my husband sat down in his seat. At this point there was no way for me to get out as I was land locked in. I wanted to wash my hands but the thought of having to do this dance again and have everyone stare, I accepted that I was just gonna have to use hand sanitizer b/c I wasn't going anywhere. It was also really noisy and I could hear the couple's conversation next to us. Food: I ordered the steak frites $54 and upgraded to the truffle fries $9 . The steak was cooked to my liking, med-rare. However it tasted too much like a hamburger patty from In-n-out. Now that's not a bad thing, but it's not what I was expecting. The truffle fries were not worth the upgrade, I would just stick w/the regular fries b/c I could not tell the difference. The star I think were the steamed mussels $19.50 . The broth was so flavorful and the bread they bring was a good accompaniment. Get the mussels!! My husband ordered the Confit de Canard duck confit as an entree and was given the option of 1 or 2 pieces. He picked 2 $54 but only finished 1 and we took the rest to-go. The portion was quite big so beware. He also got a side of Puree de Pommes Au Truffe $19 truffle mashed potatoes . These were very good : Something small but noticeable. The staff would come around to the tables with a little tool to scrape up the crumbs throughout the meal. From my booth-seat-view, I could see the dining area. But not once did anyone come clear the crumbs from our table. It's something small but it was noticed and not what I would expect from a restaurant like this. Our server was kinda MIA throughout dinner. My husband and I were stuffed. We saw him again around dessert. The dessert menu looked good but we decided to pass as we were very full. Our server was kind and said he'd bring us something anyways for our anniversary. We got a cute little 25th anniversary chocolate bar with a candle to blow out. It's something small but went a long way. He also walked us out to the front where the flowers are and took our photo with our phone. He told us too at the beginning of dinner that he would do this. As we exited, we noticed the outdoor seating with heat lamps. Oh my goodness! Even though it was chilly, they had heat lamps set up and I think I would have preferred to sit outside because inside was incredibly noisy and loud. I would be interested in coming back for lunch."

"Couldn't find a brunch spot for me and my sister. Finally at the last minute we decided on Louie Louie and let me tell you, Louie Louie did not disappoint. I started off with the wagyu carpacio which melted in my mouth and it was topped with nothing but delicious flavor with a fresh green side salad. It was amazing! For my entree I ordered the shrimp rumulata.. well, send me the punch of flavor the remoulade did not give all the menu promised but the shrimp was quite succulent and cooked perfectly. I also ordered the oysters on the half shell which were so delicious with the minion yet sauce as well as the cocktail sauce I have to admit I could eat the cocktail sauce by itself it was so delicious. I decided to take the meeting yet sauce and give it a splash over the shrimp and the shrimp ring you live became a whole new dish I squeezed some of the lemon wedge from the oysters and it gave such a pop of flavor and now the shrimp is amazing! It just needed a little punch. My sister ordered the turkey bacon BLC croissant it looked so delicious the croissant look soft to the touch flaky buttery and absolutely delicious she loved it the turkey bacon was nice and thick cut the portions were great and all of our dishes the truffle fries were delicious we could have used a little more truffle flavor. All in all Louie Louie was a wonderful place to eat and I will definitely do a staycation with the hubby for a weekend at the end at Penn and visit Louie Louie once again!"

"I brought a friend to brunch because I told her that our family went to dinner on 23rd and it was fantastic! unfortunately it went down fast. not our waitress debt, she was very friendly and apologetic; she had 2 big tables and they were short busy, and she has already composed our croissant and my drink because our traitors we take so long. but we had to wait for our food for over 45 minutes and it came cold. totally unacceptable. then we had asked several people for a carafe water 3 times. When the bartender came with my 2nd blood mary, I said it was supposed to have a salted rim and would please also bring us the bottle of water. she came back with a small salted edge glass for me to pour in my drink and pour it and the filled water on our table. very rude and unprofessional! we were so withdrawn that I immediately hosted with the two (which I did not know were the manager) about the situation. When our waitress came back, we told her and our food was cold. at this point I am pleased to report that their restaurant has done the right thing. they composed our entire meal and spoke to the rude bartender. but this whole experience my restaurant wanted to show to my friend was a complete catastrophe! our waitress was professional; bartender was not. and her kitchen served cold entrees. totally unacceptable, and we didn't want to wait 40 minutes for hot escapes. when we left, we said the waitress, we wanted to type her and ask for a bill so that we can do that. then the manager apologised on the way out and said that he spoke to everyone involved. normally a manager supports the waiter and comes to the table to apologize and compensate. they did the right thing by composing, but none of it was the caliber of the restaurant I thought. my man and I have an dinner date this Thursday and I am now worried that we do not have the wonderful culinary experience we had on December 23. I would like to recommend them!"
