"Our server, Chris, elevated our experience at Madisons beyond my visit to other locations of this chain. He was friendly, extremely attentive and accommodating, and good at his job. You never know what you're going to get when you pick a spot in such a...prime location just across from the Bell Centre, where we had just bought tickets. My friends had this crazy idea that they wanted to re create the 6 drinks that 93 year old Queen Elizabeth II enjoys every day. So we were on a mission to find a place serving gin Dubonnet, the Queen's daily before lunch drink of choice. We started with the beautiful terrasse at Madisons. We arrived at the tail end of the lunch rush; so our server Chris was extra attentive and accommodating to our drink request. Maybe he even made the drinks himself, but he took extra care to find an acceptable substitute for Dubonnet (St Raphael) and otherwise follow the detailed recipe to the letter. Our search was over! We ordered a little food to accompany this unique cocktail: an order of nachos and a table d'hote order of a vegetarian pizza. Both portions were quite generous, especially with the cheese tasty and not greasy. It would have been nice to have add the option to add guacomole to the nachos. I also enjoyed the homemade cream of broccoli soup and brownie dessert that completed the table d'hote. Overall, I'd go back to this location before a game or a show at the Bell Centre, and I'd definitely seek out Chris. He made the experience memorable for me and my two friends visiting. Thanks, Chris!"

"Max's on Broad is a French restaurant located in Richmond's Art District. After checking in with the hostess, we were seated. I liked how we had the option sitting at a larger table. We enjoyed the French accordion music playing from the speakers. The dimmed lighting made it an intimate and romantic dining experience. Our server Bryan came by to tell us that Thursday's is half priced wine and the special for the night was a Roasted Chicken. For drinks, we had the Pomegranate Cooler and The Sicilian. The Pomegranate Cooler consisted of vodka, Pama, lemon soda shaken, served over the rocks, and garnished with lemon. It was light, fruity, bubbly, and refreshing. The Sicilian consisted of Jim Bean rye, amaretto, sweet vermouth bitters, and orange zest. The French Onion Soup consisted of a salty beef stock topped melted aged gruyere crostini. It was too salty to my liking so I exchanged it for warm breadsticks served with garlic-herb EVOO. My boyfriend enjoyed his Grilled Duroc Pork Chops, which consisted of bone in pork chop served over potato puree topped with golden apple and raisin chutney and crispy brussels sprouts. I enjoyed the Maple Leaf Farms Duck Breast, which consisted of pan seared and sliced skin-on duck breast served over potato puree with haricot verts in a berry bourbon sauce. We finished our meal with Poached Pear Lemon Cake, which consisted lemon cake dusted with powdered sugar, topped with berry jam, served with poached fresh pear and whipped cream. The lemon cake resembled a cakey doughnut hole with a madeleine cookie exterior."

"Be forewarned… We dined there last evening. We were a party of 6. We were celebrating our anniversary and had that noted prior to our arrival. We were out in Napa after flying in from Florida. We had reserved this date to dine a here more than TWO months ahead of time. The experience was completely disappointing. The waiter was practically non existent and the food was mostly forgettable while my husband’s and my entree were really terrible. The lack of service and concern for our table was stunning considering it is a Michelin 1star rated. It truly was a shocking performance. (Empty wine bottles were left on the table. Bread crumbs remained on the table until we asked them to be removed. Water was not refilled. Waiter never returned to inquire how our entrees were/tasted. We were asked to place our order in its entirety and told they would stage it appropriately, they did not and we were totally rushed. Rolled up bill was delivered in a table glass by the waiter who dropped it and left. Avoid the Poulet Roti as it is tough, dry and sauce is overly salted. The Bibb lettuce salad was not cold or even cool. The garden herbs it is adorned with were mostly sliced green onions. My husband’s Steak Frites was no better than a chain restaurant and cooked rare, when ordered medium. He left half on his plate…The frites, however, were a hit with all who ordered them. We would have informed the waiter had he ever returned to inquire about our meals. But, as I stated earlier, he did not. Don’t know what happened to make it “all go to hell in a hand basket”, but it did. So much for celebrating our anniversary as nothing was ever mentioned by the waiter again (He did initially inquire about it as he said it was in his notes for the table. . Overall, very disappointing experience. We will not return to this restaurant and probably won’t be looking for other Thomas Keller locations either."

"I recently dined for the first time at Bistro Le Relais for a work dinner. First of all, I had no idea this lovely little place existed, and in such an unexpected location on Bowman Field. The front of house staff, from the host to the server to the busser, was efficient, pleasant, and thoughtful. Being a plant based eater, I was concerned there wouldn't be many options for me, and although the menu is entirely devoid of vegan choices, our server and the chef were happy to accommodate some modifications. I very much enjoyed the Fall Squash salad without feta) the fresh chopped sage and basil added a nice depth of flavor. None of the entrées are vegan, however I was able to craft my own by ordering several sides prepared with olive oil instead of butter. The ratatouille is fantastic eggplant, peppers, onions, and squash stewed in a delicate sauce ultimate comfort food. The sautéed Brussels sprouts stole my heart perfectly seasoned, excellent texture. I could eat an entire bucket of them for dinner quite happily. I ordered decaf coffee during dessert, however our server made sure I was aware of the mango sorbet which is vegan. The coffee was legit which is not typical for decaf. Overall I enjoyed the experience more than I expected. If it were just about the food I would give 4 stars, however the fact that they don't have any vegan options on the menu detracts a bit, and the pricing is slightly higher than I would prefer to pay for a salad $13) and some veggies $16) even though they were delicious. If, however, you enjoy more carnivorous options and are looking for a unique view and some very tasty bistro food, definitely check it out."

"I stopped by for a beer on Sunday afternoon. They promptly brought me an unsolicited jug of water you know, unbranded with a hinged stopper. I ordered my drink and the check. To my surprise, the bill came back with a charge for Vero water. After paying my bill I requested to speak to the manager, Ari, to whom I told they should warn customers they are charging for unsolicited items. Her answers increased in absurdity in par with my escalating levels of anger well, they should have told you transferring the fault; it's on the menu, which I never saw nor requested because I just ordered a beer; next time if you have a problem come speak to manager BEFORE paying the bill now it's my fault; most of the other customers don't COMPLAIN suckers!!!. In the end, I was probably as red as a beet and, mind you, demanding my dollar back. I know, it's awful and it might read as petty but I was set off by this horrible conversation streak!! I started writing down and filming this exchange that continued with: you are making a scene; I'll call security to escort you out talk about customer service. They sent a waiter out to my table and in front of the public, he opened his personal wallet and give me back in cash. I left those as an extra tip for my waitress which was awesome and kind, but what was supposed to be a nice experience: having a drink on a nice Sunday afternoon, resulted in a horrible situation over ONE dollar. There are other restaurants in the mall. You can very well avoid this fauxFrench establishment"

"I brought a friend to brunch because I told her that our family went to dinner on 23rd and it was fantastic! unfortunately it went down fast. not our waitress debt, she was very friendly and apologetic; she had 2 big tables and they were short busy, and she has already composed our croissant and my drink because our traitors we take so long. but we had to wait for our food for over 45 minutes and it came cold. totally unacceptable. then we had asked several people for a carafe water 3 times. When the bartender came with my 2nd blood mary, I said it was supposed to have a salted rim and would please also bring us the bottle of water. she came back with a small salted edge glass for me to pour in my drink and pour it and the filled water on our table. very rude and unprofessional! we were so withdrawn that I immediately hosted with the two (which I did not know were the manager) about the situation. When our waitress came back, we told her and our food was cold. at this point I am pleased to report that their restaurant has done the right thing. they composed our entire meal and spoke to the rude bartender. but this whole experience my restaurant wanted to show to my friend was a complete catastrophe! our waitress was professional; bartender was not. and her kitchen served cold entrees. totally unacceptable, and we didn't want to wait 40 minutes for hot escapes. when we left, we said the waitress, we wanted to type her and ask for a bill so that we can do that. then the manager apologised on the way out and said that he spoke to everyone involved. normally a manager supports the waiter and comes to the table to apologize and compensate. they did the right thing by composing, but none of it was the caliber of the restaurant I thought. my man and I have an dinner date this Thursday and I am now worried that we do not have the wonderful culinary experience we had on December 23. I would like to recommend them!"
