"Wow! My husband and I decided to take a trip to Elmwood Park and stroll through the neighborhood. We usually stop at Johnny's for a beef sandwich, but we opted to try this place instead after hearing from the cashier about their long history and how fantastic their pizza supposedly is. We were informed that we would have to wait 15 minutes for a fresh slice of cheese and sausage pizza, so we patiently waited. When my husband finally got the slice, it wasn't even warm! It was cold, old, and tasted like cardboard, with something that barely resembled cheese on top. It was so awful that we couldn't finish even one bite. The owners seem too stingy to replace a bad slice, not realizing that this will eventually catch up with them. The pizza here tastes terrible, and I can't understand how they've managed to stay in business for so long. If they continue down this path, they won't be around much longer. I'm so upset that I wish they would just close their doors. They keep their customers waiting for a fresh slice, only to serve up this old, cold mess. There were no apologies, no offers to replace what we paid for, just complete indifference. If you doubt my review, just look at the other comments and reviews from customers who have had similar experiences. One comment even corroborated my thoughts about the pizza being old. How can they justify serving such low-quality food? So, if you're thinking about dining at this restaurant, my advice is to run as fast as you can, like the last two monkeys trying to board Noah's Ark before the rain starts! It's a hard pass from me! You've been warned—enter at your own risk! I'll be disputing the charge with my bank because I refuse to pay for such terrible food!"

"I visited on a quiet Monday evening for some pre-game watching eating. Found my way to the longer bar (they have two actually — one about eight seats and the other three). Sam was one of the most pleasantly engaging barkeeps I have experienced in quite some time. He provided recommendations as well as a detailed explanation of the pizza oven and food philosophy of the restaurant and instances when owners greet customers.I ordered a hearts of palm salad, octopus with asparagus, and meatball/fries sides to eat there. I also took a superiore pizza and tiramisu dessert to go. The salad had great portions and proportions of ingredients (hearts of palm, artichokes, red peppers, and olives) which tasted crisp and fresh. My first time having octopus was well rewarded with good texture and meatiness feel to the octopus and again an appreciated portion size. Nice acidity from the accompanying lemon caper sauce too. Sam’s recommendation on the meatballs was well placed, as I enjoyed three meatballs that had good meat flavor with little binder, texture not too soft and not too firm, and fresh marinara. Fries were crisp and hot as well as not salty at all. I liked experiencing pizza the Italian way — lightly sauced with nearly perfect topping proportion, a little char on the bottom, and a great tasting crust. Ending with the homemade tiramisu (first time eating this dessert ever) was definitely the right call. Soft but such a light interior, well controlled sweetness from the marscapone cheese, and just the right amount of cocoa powder.Prices seem only slightly higher than what might be typical for the area. I definitely feel one can get satisfying value in any section of the menu. I have to try one of the pastas on my next visit and maybe a special or two and the housemade cannoli. I can totally see why this place has the popularity it does!"

"Our favorite new find. We come to Ft Myers every year in December. Last year my friends discovered this place and insisted we had to go back so I could try it, and I'm so glad we did. This is easily the best place we've found in Ft. Myers so far. It's an unassuming little spot in a tiny group of shops and not easily seen from the road. It's small, intimate, nicely decorated with two dining areas and bar. The colors, lighting and mood are all very comfortable. The service was warm and friendly. We started with calamari which had a nice spicy kick and the bacon wrapped/stuffed plums were as good as everyone says! (We ended up getting two orders). Two of us had the catch of the day Grouper in the salsa verde sauce and every bite was pure pleasure. Two of us had the mahi mahi with shellfish and both loved it. This place has been there for about 8-9 years so they have stood the test of time and we will definitely be back every time we come to Ft. Myers. 12/15; We LOVE Gloria's and have been coming back here every year for the last 3 years when we are in Estero. This year I was on my honeymoon with my wife and about a dozen of our best friends were here also--they threw us the greatest dinner for a honeymoon reception. There were a couple of big groups in the place that night, but Gloria's handled it expertly--the food was all fantastic and the service was excellent. We have nothing but superb memories of our visits here."
