"A 4.8 rating for sure! Very clean cozy rustic dining area. I was surprised to see that there was also a full bar available with some great spirits on hand, not just the run of the mill stick at that! Marvelous fork tender brisket that doesn’t just fall entirely apart (an important point for me, personally) very flavorful jalapeño pork sausage while not being punishing on the spicy side of the palate. The spicy BBQ sauce had a wonderful balance of sweetness to it that was not quite the level of heat I was looking for, but managed to fit the bill the meats very well. The sides are very good though they didn’t stand apart exceptionally make no mistake, they’re Very good, but didn’t reinvent the wheel. The small craft soda selections from Oak Cliff were far superior to the large brand soft drinks typically found. Made with real sugar, they surely added an unexpected touch to my dining experience that I enjoyed more than I would’ve figured. The staff was very knowledgeable about their offerings were able to really make this a place that stands apart. Clean, courteous knowledgeable are all high marks that they earned helped to seal my many future returns. In all, a warm, inviting atmosphere with great food that I’d be happy to share with out of town guests or a gathering place with friends family. A typical Texas “gully washer” of a storm was about to hit as I arrived, so I didn’t get to enjoy the day’s cooler August temperature on their patio, but I hope to on subsequent visits!"

"I was a fan of the old Satterfield 's and was more than a little heartbroken when they closed their doors. When someone told me they were open again I was delighted and took the first opportunity to have lunch there with a friend. To be honest when I walked in I was a little shocked, the interior of the place lacks the charm it once had, and to be a little harsh first impressions were that they were in the process of unpacking from a recent move (which was not the case, just saying). It is not table service like it used to be, you order at the counter when you come in now, and they bring it to you. Everything is served to go so no plates, and no silverware or glasses, etc, and I personally think that 's a little sad. But that 's the end of the story when it comes to what 's not as good as the old Satterfield 's . The reason you come, and the reason a number of other sins can be forgiven is the Barbecue. I selected the Brisket, and it was the best I 've had in Middle Georgia. That title was previously held by Martin 's in Warner Robins, but even if that place hadn 't gone out of business, Satterfield 's Brisket would have knocked them off that pedestal. It had a wonderful bark, and was moist and tender, with a beautiful smoke ring and a rub that was hitting all the right notes on your pallet without overpowering you in any way. The sauce I selected, which was a Carolina style but as with real good Que, was hardly needed. The fries I had with it were hand cut, and nicely seasoned as well. My lunch partner had the pulled pork, and while i did not sample it, he was every bit as enthusiastic about it as I was about the brisket. I will be back, as soon as schedule permits, and as often as my waist line will tolerate. Although the Middle Georgia BBQ scene is sadly lacking in quality retail establishments, Satterfield 's would score well even in a packed competition. Get there, and get some."
