"WOW! Amazing Italian dining in Boston, walking distance from Harvard Square. Our party of 5 came on a Thursday evening with NO reservations around 7pm and were pleasantly surprised to get a seat on the high top tables adjacent to the bar area and open kitchen. It 's a beautiful restaurant with variety of small tables, booths, and longer tables. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Food: DELICIOUS! AMAZING! Fresh made pasta and wonderfully crafted pasta sauces, and proteins. The pictures speak for themselves, and you really cannot go wrong with any choice. So much so that our group each chose a different dish for ourselves and shared a little with each other so we could try as many different dishes. I can 't really pick one favorite, since they all were delicious. I would say it depends on what you 're looking or hankering for. On this night, I was really drawn to Pappardelle pasta, so that was my choice. But really, if you were looking for a type of pasta like gnocchi or farfalle or rigatoni, or a type of sauce or protein...so many options to meet your needs! A MUST TRY in the Boston area for sure!"

"On a Saturday evening, while strolling by, we decided to try some Italian food. We were seated right away, but the service was a bit slow thereafter. It took 10-15 minutes after ordering our drinks and dinner before we were served bread. However, once the food arrived, it was delicious. The bolognese sauce at Sofi's was particularly impressive. Despite the slow start, we ended up having a pretty good dinner overall."

"Great little Italian restaurant, that we visit frequently. The food is always very good, and consistently so. Good pizza, lasagne, pastas, etc. Never had a bad meal there. Service is always friendly and efficient, as well, and the owner is always around keeping an eye on things and socializing with guests. He hires a lot of local students, and supports the schools and athletics. Great guy. Nice ambience, as well, with painted murals of Italian countrysides. This is the longest lived Italian restaurant in Evergreen, and still going strong, with good reason."

"The music with dinner was fantastic! The decor is very nice, the setting was quite lovely, except the ceiling tiles; a little dingy looking (ceiling tiles need to be replaced immediately , but nicely themed; painted, etc... Our waitress was melancholy, stressed and seemingly overworked with all the tables she had at once. At times, we ran out of ice tea, and waited a while for appetizers and food, but the service was not terrible (I tipped 20% . The appetizers (brussels sprouts wwere very good. However, the rest of dinner was terrible at best. Our party of three tried the bread, cheese pizza, and lasagna and they were all terrible (flavor . The sauce on the lasagna tasted like a mixture of Ragu spaghetti sauce and carryout ketchup! The pizza was soggy, and the bread was hard as a rock, with no flavor at all (the second batch brought out was a little warmer and softer but still tasteless. Not what you expect from a italian restaurant . My wifes work colleague made us lasagna the other day that was far better in every aspect (taste, viscosity, warmth, presentation, spices, preparation, etc... HOWEVER... The live music (The Carl Grubbs Quartet was simply amazing! Germano's Piattini supports live music from different local bands to play while having dinner. Because of this, even though the food was not good at all (except the brussel sprouts (me , and the cheesecake according to my wife I will happily eat their again (music nights only . They must make some dishes that are good, right? I will exhaust them all for good obvionce, and live jazz music, which this place has!"

One of us wanted to order the smoked salmon dish that was not immediately identified as raw fish. The menu was not clear. Most of us decided to order from here. We spent a total of $137. "If I could give 0 stars I would. The whole experience was the worst experience my family and I have had at a restaurant. Our waiter was so short with us, rude, and overall just disrespectful and discourteous to us. We asked for waters all around and our waiter came and one had spilled, that was fine, it was an accident. His attitude about it was unapologetic, and then he overcompensated and brought out three extra waters when we had asked if one of us could get a replacement. It was a condescending tone when he abruptly placed the waters down. They brought out the ‘infamous’ chalkboard specials and expected us to know what everything is on the menu. When we had asked questions, he was having none of it, looked annoyed, and again was short and cut us off. So we had asked for 3 Linguine Alle Vongole which are clam pastas. One we had asked with a tomato sauce, but the clams had never came out with it. Perhaps it was a miscommunication, but we asked for and eventually got a bowl of clams for an up charge of $20. And on top of that they are a cash only establishment who adds gratuity onto the check themselves, you don’t have the option to change it. Unfortunately, reading other people’s 1 star reviews they have had a pattern of having racial profiling towards Asians. We have never felt those disgusting behaviors before. It was clear as day how displeased when they saw our group, as the group next to us told the waiters they are French and they were having good and lighthearted conversations with them. They got their food before us even though they had come in after us, and had the options of grating cheese on their dishes, when we didn’t have that option at all. This is the worst establishment we’ve been to. This is a warning to others before you go decide to have a try at this place."
