I recently took a vacation at Sunset Beach, and by our third night, we were craving pizza. That's when I discovered Maria's, which was about a 17-minute drive from our condo. I placed an order online and arrived just in time for pickup.
The pizza was ready when I got there, and there was no wait at all. Once I brought it back and took my first bite, I felt like I had been transported to another world where the pizza gods reside! This was truly the PERFECT pizza: the crust was just right, the cheese was gooey but not greasy, the sauce had the perfect tang, and the toppings were just the right amount. I was blown away!
Three days later, we decided to order from Maria's again, but this time we placed an order for two pizzas. When I arrived for pickup, I ended up waiting an additional 48 minutes beyond the estimated time given on my order. Although I was frustrated, I recognized that the website does mention the pickup time is an estimate. The staff were very kind and apologetic, and the restaurant was packed, which explained the delay.
My only concern was the tight congestion at the entrance and the small waiting area. It didn’t seem very organized for people waiting for tables versus those picking up call-in orders.
On a positive note, the house-made ranch dressing is absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be back for more.
