"Embarking on a culinary journey at New Orleans' The Peacock Room, I was greeted not just with a feast for the palate but an ensemble of sensory delights. As a chef celebrating my 34th birthday, the importance of honoring the kitchen's craftsmanship resonates deeply with me, and it was heartwarming to see a culinary service charge on my bill—a tribute to the unsung heroes behind each masterpiece served. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was set by enchanting live music, creating a backdrop that was both vibrant and intimately welcoming. The cocktail menu, a tapestry of flavors meticulously woven together, offered The Patron Saint, a drink that speaks to the soul with its divine blend—a sip of heaven, an ode to the spirit. The short ribs, a star of the night, were nothing short of a culinary ballet, each fiber tenderly surrendering to the touch, in a pas de deux with the velvety miso sweet potato—a pairing so seamless, it was as if they were destined to waltz together on the plate. Each bite was a testament to the chef's prowess, where the meat's richness was complemented exquisitely by the sweet potato's subtle earthiness. The Peacock Room is not just a restaurant; it's a sanctuary where the essence of New Orleans' spirit and culinary excellence are celebrated. To dine here is to partake in a tradition of gastronomic reverence, a place where every dish is a tribute to the artistry of cuisine. As I savored each moment, I was not just eating; I was part of a narrative that spoke of passion, dedication, and the pure joy of culinary arts. For those seeking not just a meal but an experience that captures the soul of NOLA, The Peacock Room awaits to enchant and inspire. It is a symphony of flavors, a canvas where each dish is painted with the brushstrokes of a chef's love—a culinary masterpiece in the heart of the city."

"Everything was just 'OK ' but when you factor in the price, it was a slightly displeasing service. We got two bottles of wine (pinot noir malbec) both were about $35/bottle. Unfortunately, the wine was clearly stored at room temperature...and in a room that was likely 75 80 degrees. A wine cooler would have been nice to get it to a more drinkable temperature. C for the wine experience. The appetizers were great (calamari and pimento cheese). No complaints here. Entrees were pretty bad. Everything clearly sat under a heat lamp for a while....even though we waited quite a while between appetizers and entrees so there was no apparent reason to hold them. Every dish had some type of sauce which the top was getting crusty from sitting for a while. 1. Ribeye Mashed potatoes were good, steak was a bit undercooked (very rare/arguably raw in some places). Broccolini very bland. 2. Salmon Extremely salty, bland, and overcooked. Was way overcooked and over salted to the point that the two who got it found it hard to finish. Broccolini was bland. Advertised potatoes coming with it as well...but these were mostly a garnish as it was literally 4 sauteed potato chips served underneath everything. 3. Specialty Taco Entree I tried three different ones (Fried Shrimp, Buffalo Shrimp, and Seared Tuna). Seared Tuna was probably the best, but still not great. Fried Shrimp and Buffalo shrimp were edible but not enjoyable. The Fried Shrimp variety included a soy and ginger but it was really pretty overpowering. The tacos were also very small. 2 3 SMALL shrimp per taco, 1 thin slice of tuna, and very little topping on either of them clocking in at $18...kind of a rip off IMO. We got desserts but I didn 't really try any. The rest of the table found them enjoyable, though. Service was quite good. All in all, I really wanted to love the place. I did absolutely the interior and would love to come back for a couple COLD drinks and appetizers (the only great part, IMO)."

"I had the worst experience of my life on Friday night. We arrived an hour and a half before close, and there were plenty of guests still. Within minutes of sitting down, a guy yells from the balcony to the host to bring him the broom and mop. She proceeds to yell back, right next to our table, and of the staff begin running up and down the stairs, yelling and laughing their happy asses off. We politely asked our server if something was going on, he said no, so we asked if he would ask them to lower their voices so that we could at least have a conversation. Our server went upstairs and we hear the culprit of the noise say well tell them it's a sportsbar So I look up and he's leaning over the balcony looking at us, to which I ask, so because this is a sports bar I shouldn't be able to enjoy my meal without the staff yelling and running all over the place He shrugged and could've cared less. Our waiter was dazed and confused and didn't seem to care either way. We asked for the manager and the guy said yep, that's me you're looking at him It only escalated from there, and not a single person apologized. When did it become ok to tell your customer that because they're the manager that we, as the customers, don't have a right to want to enjoy our time, where we're spending our money? Instead of walking out we paid for our meal like decent citizens and the manager' came down and smirked and wished us a great evening. It's disappointing because I live at the Level and actually have enjoyed my time at UJ every other time I've been in the last years of living there. Sadly I'll have to cross this one off my list.Janil I believe was his name I won't call corporate like I said I would, because eventually in life you will figure it out."

"Do not visit this hotel if you believe that pets are family. We love our dogs and they are ohana to ue nobody gets left behind. The Omni claims to be dog friendly but I promise you, they are not. At one point walking our dogs aross the lobby we were told we needed to pick them up. We have two pups under 14 pounds each. Easy enough for us but obviously not for my pet sitting clients with sweet Pittie mixies and Cane Corsos ranging from 45 to 115 pounds. Let me not bury the lead, however. One of our pups (10 pounds and 2 years old) barks when we leave. He is a very sweet guy and we 've been working on his socialization post pandemic. We took him on two nice long enriching, full of sniffs walks today. We played fetch in room with his favorite toy. We gave him calming treats that have worked to calm him in the past. And then we left the room and went to a show that did not allow phones or other recording devices. We returned to a room empty of puppies with this sign on our indoor closet door not even posted to the outside door. The employees were forced to enforce this policy and put two 10 and 14 pound dogs into a kennel fit for one 10 pound dog. This was not safe for the employees (who would never be expected to intercede in this way at their own risk) and was not safe nor humane treatment for the dogs, both of whom were rescues! Just imagine and pardon the anthropomorphism that you are bred to bark when concerned about your home or you sense intruders. Then you continue to bark as you were bred by humans to do when your humans are gone. Then later, stranger humans come and take you away from your home (room) you 've known for two days and away from all smells of the humans you 've known as home for 4 years. And all in a hotel that calls itself pet friendly, where one dog was barking at 9:30pm on a Thursday, and complaints were lodged in said pet friendly hotel. Save yourself the heartbreak of finding an empty room and look somewhere else for lodging even if you are without your furamily on this visit. Image is not currently uploading on Omni 's not free Wifi (if you 're not a memeber), so here 's the description: Memo To: (room number) guests From: Omni Security Date: (today) Re: Dog Parking Complaint Hello, We just wanted to let you know that your furry friend was feeling a little lonely. His/her barking was causing a disturbance to the guest surrounding your room, so we relocated him/her downstairs, and he is keeping our front desk manager company. Please feel free to come down and retrieve your loved one as soon as possible. Thank you, Omni Security"
