"I may have gone on an 'off' day; but it was the lunch DineLA and the space was quaint, which was nice, but I could see that at the table I was sat, the table linens were not clean, I was moved without any issues, however I over heard customers complaining about the wait time to place orders, one couple just up and left. I did wait some time for my check, I had to get up and ask the staff to close me out and there was only one person working the whole floor. The two men in the kitchen, I could hear lecturing the one floor staff member on why the staff member didn't call for back up that day? I was put off by that, an employee is not responsible for that. The food was fine, but the experience was a bit negative"

"The food was very good. This was the first time at this restaurant and overall we were happy with the experience. The service was very good and we were not rushed out. Our server was very nice and offered many suggestions for substitutions but he appeared to be overworked working on many tables. The pricing is a tad expensive and they don't share the prices for the specials or beef selections so be careful. You might be surprised when the check arrives."

"Despite a few minor drawbacks, my dining experience at was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The wine selection was impressive, and every sip complemented our meal beautifully. Our server, Jaime, truly enhanced our visit. Exceptionally nice and attentive, Jaime ensured that we had everything we needed, making our meal all the more pleasant. The restaurant's ambiance, however, could use some improvement. Depending on where you sit, the sun can shine directly in your face due to insufficient shading, which can be somewhat uncomfortable. Additionally, the air conditioning wasn't quite up to par, leaving parts of the restaurant a bit warm. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was positive, and I would gladly dine there again. The quality of the food and the excellent service more than make up for the slight inconveniences."

"I did some work for the two brothers who run this restaurant, and I must say, they are truly wonderful people. It's rare to find genuinely good people these days. They truly care about their customers as well as their business, which are significant factors in my book. They absolutely deserve a five-star rating! The food is fantastic; I've never tasted anything that good before. My wife and I are definitely planning to return for dinner."

"The quality of the food and service has not changed since I first visited this temple of Tuscan delights years ago. The artwork on the walls, including Miro lithographs and one original Miro oil, and the formally dressed waiters contribute to the cultured ambience. This past week my wife and I had filet of sole and lamb with Barolo sauce, respectively, and found them prepared perfectly. I will continue to recommend the North Beach Restaurant to my family and friends who visit San Francisco"

"DO NOT GO HERE. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Valentines Day, when we got there the manager gave us paper menus for “Valentine’s Day special” our waiter said we were only allowed to order from that menu. We had seen the special menu on the website before hand but was not informed it was the only menu we could order from. It was $120 per couple for only a few options of dinner not including the drinks. Everything on the menu had seafood which I cannot have, we told our waiter this and he said he would ask the kitchen if they can do something else. After debating spending $120 on food we do not want to eat my boyfriend and I decided to send the appetizers back and pay for the drinks (mind you, the drinks took 20 minutes to come out) We were extremely polite and kept our volume down not to interrupt other diners. This apparently pissed off the manager who then came over and said “what’s the problem” in a stuck up nasty tone. We then explained our situation and how we will pay for the drinks. He then said “what are you gonna do, go somewhere else?” Acting like that was the most obscene thing on the planet. He then walked off and grabbed a normal menu and said “Do you want to order from this or go somewhere else, cause you’re not gonna find anywhere else to go tonight” which he didn’t know I had already called somewhere else to make sure there’s somewhere for us to enjoy our Valentine’s Day instead of being pressured to pay $120 for food we will not eat. I would have been fine with the offer of the regular menu, except his rude and uncalled for comment about us not being able to find somewhere else to eat like his establishment was the last place on earth for dinner on Valentine’s Day. The kicker of all of this was when we got the bill for the drinks they charged us $7 for a “custom item” my boyfriend and I got one drink each which was already listen on the bill. Being hungry and extremely irritated with the managers bad attitude, we paid the bill and the “custom item” and decided to leave without looking back. I have never had such horrid experience at a “fine dining” establishment. I have worked for fine dining restaurants in the past and I will say this doesn’t meet the mark of fine dining at all. Outdated decor and clearly a manager that should retire or find a new career path, he has no communication skills to be working in this industry. Shame on the management and people who put up with this poor excuse of a human being."

"This was our second time dining at LaScala and we were, once again, underwhelmed. The restaurant is gorgeous! Every room is beautifully decorated with antiques. The bar area is quaint and lovely. That being said, our food was not good. We had appetizers, salads, entrees, and dessert. The apps were the best. The salad was drowning in dressing. The fish was way over cooked. The sauce on the Osso Bucco was too thick. The tiramisu was mushy. The bread made it to our table after the entrees. In addition, it seemed odd that the wait staff was dressed in Halloween costumes. This is a fine dining restaurant. Wait staff walking around in masks might have been fun for them but took away from the ambiance. Our host(manager), Gina, was the highlight of our experience. She's warm, knowledgeable on the history of the restaurant, and a truly wonderful front person. I'm sorry to say we won't be back as we are locals, and there are too many other good restaurants in Savannah."

"gluten free paradies! Monday was the perfect night for our jubilee dinner. we had very attentive staff, it can be difficult to get an excellent service in a not so busy night. I have celiacs and the gluten-free menu had amazing options. the personal had the luck, what it means to have a gluten allergy and to have taken my allergy seriously, even to ask if I could eat blue cheese. (a potential source of cross-contamination) eating was delicious the soufflé was excellent. my man saw no need to order from the not GF menu. Five stars! I wish we could eat more often there! great ambiente!"

"I made a reservation for 7:30. It was my son's birthday. We also stayed at the River Crab Hotel. We sat at 7:45 am. At 8:05 a.m. nobody had come to our table. Had to ask for water and 8:15 a boy brought us water and said he would send a waitress. 8:30 no waitress got up and told the hostess to send a waitress please. 8:40 no one yet. Each waitress distributed the table like we weren't even there. I was so upset we got up and left the restaurant and went somewhere else. There were four of us and my son's birthday was totally ruined !!!!! I have never treated this badly in a restaurant in my life. I will be sure to tell my friends about the terrible service we received. NO apologies for this kind of service !!!!!!!!!"

"I have always enjoyed my dinner experiences at this restaurant, so I decided to try their brunch. I made a reservation for a party of 5 at a high top table. However, when we arrived, the host/owner seemed surprised and tried to seat us at a regular table. Unfortunately, the brunch menu had no vegan options and we were not allowed to order off the main menu. My non-vegan friends ordered steak and eggs, but the steaks were inconsistent in size and texture. The birthday person in our group received a noticeably smaller and dried up steak. The pancakes were also dry and disappointing. On a positive note, the mimosa pitchers were affordable and delicious. Overall, we regretted choosing this restaurant for brunch instead of going to Fumo."

"We've been exploring the east bay more and were in the mood for some Italian, and we came across Locanda Amalfi. They have a couple of east bay locations and also one in Campbell. Outdoor dining is available. You can make a reservation request online, but we ended up just calling and were able to get a same day reservation on a Saturday night. They have a nice covered outdoor setup with patio seating and some parklet seating. On a summer evening, the breeze was really nice outdoors. By 6ish, they were pretty much completely full both inside and outside. We decided to go heavy on the carbs.. Lobster and shrimp ravioli: with tomatoes and a red cream sauce Pesto paccheri: add prawns for only $5 the pasta texture was great (al dente), but the creamy pesto made it a bit heavy. The sun dried tomatoes help cut the creaminess, and I asked for some red pepper flakes and was happily surprised to also get some Calabrian chili paste! Capricciosa pizza: a nice thin crust with lots of toppings and a nicely risen back crust We were fortunate to come on the first weekend of the month, so the streets were closed to traffic, and there was lots of live music going on. It's a nice option for Italian food in the area, and it's kid friendly."

"The highlight of our dining experience was our server, who was exceptional. However, aside from that, the rest of our meal left much to be desired. We came for a Mother's Day prix fixe 4-course meal and had one of the first reservations. Although we were seated fairly quickly at a table for 3, there were significant delays in receiving our courses. After waiting for our second course for an extended period of time, we were told that it would not be served until the restaurant had finished collecting plates from the first course. When our second course finally arrived, it was cold. The entrée followed about 45-50 minutes later, also cold. Despite being seated for almost 2 hours, we were only halfway through the meal. When I requested a box to take the remaining food home, I was informed that it was against the restaurant's policy. When I questioned this, I received a dismissive response indicating that leftover food is given to the staff and then potentially to the homeless. This response was unsatisfactory and unsettling. The quality of the food was below average and overall our experience was disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant to others."
