"Four generations!. I had dinner with my parents at the Lotus Garden. I have taken my own kids there all of their lives. Now, I take my grandkids! The Lotus has been there all this time for a reason, the food is great! Egg rolls and barbecued pork are house made and delicious! Best sweet and sour pork and chicken you 've ever had. Not to mention, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice, moo goo gai pan, and Szechwan. Some things they have done the same way forever, the cracker and bun basket anyone? Many items on their American menu are not to be missed either. Best Manhattan 's ever! Best cocktail? I say Rum Cow, but fabulous tropical drinks reign supreme here! Don 't forget to say hey to Jimmy! He was the star of the show there in the 70s (still is ha! , when I was a little high school kid working in the 'coffee shop ', which is now the buffet next door. Hopefully the Lotus Garden will be serving great food for 50 more years! And, to the gentleman who has issues with the decor, the Chinese kitsch is part of it man!!!"

"We had dinner here tonight, and everything was exceptional. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough for two big appetites. Each dish was delicious, and the service excelled. There's something truly special about a restaurant run by its owners, and I wish I lived closer to Mee Mah so I could dine here more often. Chicago has a fantastic food scene overall, and from my experience, the Chinese cuisine here rivals that of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle—almost the best you can find outside of China. Mee Mah is indeed a hidden gem. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Chicago so I can plan another meal at this wonderful family-owned Chinese restaurant."

"Absolutely awful. Placed order online, called to confirm before pickup, had to place new order on the phone. Get there and have to wait an hour for cold food. The chicken looked like it had been recooked so many times they had to drench it in sauce to make it edibile My food was supposed to have broccoli in it, and there was so much super thick, super sweet sauce, that when I did find the broccoli it was unrecognizable. The fried wonton didn't have any meat in it. The duck sauce was not duck sauce. Egg rolls... foul. This place is simply trash."

"I visited this restaurant based on online reviews and brought along three colleagues. Initially, I was disappointed; the exterior and entrance were quite rundown. However, once inside, it was clear that this establishment has been around for decades. The menu prices were reasonable, and the lunch specials were especially good. My perception changed for the better when the food arrived. I ordered the Basil Thai Chicken, and the flavors were exceptional. I was a bit hesitant to choose a Thai dish from a Chinese restaurant, but it did not disappoint. My colleagues also enjoyed their meals. I would definitely return; don’t let the cosmetic issues deter you. The place may be old, but it is clean and spacious."

"What a wonderful little place! First time here and will NOT be my last! We’ve driven by it so often and finally stopped for a late breakfast on a Friday….the quality and freshness of the food blew me away. We had a skillet and an omelet and both were so good, fresh hash browns were incredible, portions fantastic and price point excellent. Added a piece of cake afterwards and wow. Just wow. Something about homemade cake, topped with homemade whipped cream, I don’t know how to describe how good that is to me. It’s like being at Grandmas house. Anyway we’ll be back for the made fresh daily corned beef Reuben and I also want to try some homemade chicken salad. And yes, I will try whatever homemade dessert these angels have dreamed up! The service was quick and so friendly and we got a tip about busiest times (Saturday/Sunday 10a-1p) so I also loved that tidbit. All in all a really great place that Brainerd should be proud of and everyone should check out asap!"

"I always say that it is hard to find a good Chinese restaurant that is consistent. Lotus pond was recently recommended to me. The first time I ordered I did a delivery. I was surprised at how much food I received. I ordered the chicken and broccoli dish. Their chicken and broccoli uses a brown/oyster sauce instead of the white sauce I am used to. While, I really enjoy the other sauce on this dish, I still thought their's was pretty good. I got this same dish when I dined in and the meal was consistent with my last order. The interior is just like any other dine in Chinese restaurant that hasn't changed their look in years. My boyfriend enjoyed this as it reminded him of his favorite Chinese restaurant by where he grew up. I tried to egg drop soup this time and I thought it was great. We also got the wanton soup. It was SLIGHTLY under salted, but we would rather it be this way than too salty tasting. The egg rolls were pretty good and I really enjoyed the plum sauce. They also gave us the warm sweet bread, which I have not had in years. It was great and super carby. The other entree we ordered was the orange chicken. Very good dish overall. We thought the fried rice needed a tad more soy sauce, but still was really good. We noticed this place was really busy with carry-outs while we were there, so it obviously is doing something right."

"For the cost of a single person to come in, the portions themselves are good, but the food is oily, crispy things aren't crispy and the food is soggy/over salty. Teriyaki Chicken the last time I came in wasn't cooked all the way, and when I asked them to remake my meal so that I wouldn't get food poisoning (the conversation escalated, obviously) they started yelling back and forth, and ended up taking over an hour to remake my food INCORRECTLY. They ended up making me an entirely different dish than the TC I ordered, after about 75 minutes of waiting. Just entirely disrespectful of their customers."

"Very accommodating waitresses and staff..Even on Mother's day during their off peak times outside of morning and evening full of reservations. They were swamped with customers, but they managed to keep everything under control and checked back in at our table of 8 multiple times making sure everything was alright and no one needed refills or anything. If I could give them more than 5 stars I definitely would. And to top it off their food was great too. Huge portions and very reasonable prices also."

"I have been living next to Chinatown for 8 years and never tried Lee Wing Wah until a friend recommended it. Now, I consider it the best spot for Chinese-American classics. Every dish is executed perfectly, from the walnut shrimp to the salt and pepper pork, peabody leaves, Fok-kin style fried rice, and fried noodles with beef and beansprouts. Each dish is excellent in its own right."

"Good Chinese-American food. I like that it's a family run business in a repurposed old I-Hop. I like that she has her kid there at work rolling through the restaurant in roller skates. I like that they serve pressed duck, and that they have the big greasy egg rolls I sometimes have a taste for. Good egg foo yung. I've always liked what I get here. I do like that they aren't fluent in American English. Portions are generous, prices are good. And whether you're here or another Chinese-American restaurant, never eat at the buffet, that's neither smart nor safe."

"This place is a historic mainstay on Lyndale for a reason. It’s looking a little rough around edges these days, but is worth a stop if you’re looking for hearty Chinese food and cocktails served in a cozy, charming, tucked away environment. Service was helpful and friendly when we went on a Tuesday evening, although a bit slow and inattentive as we finished up. There’s room for improvement here. The food hit the spot. I highly recommend the chicken wings which are crunchy, meaty, and served hot. The sizzling platter left something to be desired, as it wasn’t really sizzling and was a bit too soupy and salty. Nevertheless, it was a good dining experience overall. It’s a bit gritty to be sure, and yes, the tables are a bit sticky, but the bathrooms are clean, the food and drinks are good, and there is a glowing red heart to the place. We didn’t sit at the bar which seems like it’d be fun on a Friday night. The cocktails and shots have eye-catching names that you’ll have to see for yourself. There’s better value elsewhere to be fair but Red Dragon is certainly treasured here at the corner of 22nd and Lyndale."
