"The restaurant has charming little dinosaur figurines as decor, which Noelle explained were a quirky touch from the owners to remind them of their roots. While she articulated it more eloquently, that was the essence of her message!
Now, onto the pizza itself. It’s Detroit-style, which I hadn’t really tried before this visit, so I can’t compare it to other places. The pizza comes in a rectangular shape, cut into six slices, resembling a pan pizza with a wonderfully buttery, crispy crust. Interestingly, it has the same marinara dipping sauce that we enjoyed earlier, and I found that to be a nice touch. The dough is thick, similar to pan or deep-dish style, yet it felt light and airy—not nearly as heavy as deep-dish usually is. I personally would have liked a bit more cheese, but that’s just my preference.
Although the pizza appeared small, my husband and I each had two slices, and we even brought home two leftovers. Keep in mind, this was after indulging in the mozzarella sticks and garlic cheese sticks as our appetizers. Had we skipped those, we probably would have polished off the whole pizza!
The restaurant had an enjoyable 90's and 2000's R&B playlist playing, which added to the nice vibe. It’s located in a charming neighborhood with other dining options and apartments nearby. While street parking is free right in front, space is limited, so you might need to find a spot down the street or in one of the surrounding residential areas.
Overall, I will definitely be returning!"
