"The buffet lunch is gone, the waiters/service is terrible. The food taste good, but you have to order off the menu and the portions are small compared to the value you used to get at the buffet. The waiters never smiled the whole time, they refused to take the dirty plates off the table and he never came back after the food was served other than to give me the check. This place has gone way downhill fast. I’ve gone here for years, but after today I will never go there again.Response to the ownerI understand that we are in a pandemic and your restaurant is struggling like many across the country which is why I chose to support your restaurant. I also brought a friend to help support you. I truly understand your establishment needing to shut down the buffet, but there is simply no excuse for the poor service your waiters provided while we were in your establishment. In most cases this is caused by a lack of training, but your waiter flat out refused to clear the table of dirty dishes when I asked him to, so we could continue to enjoy our time in your restaurant. There is simply no excuse for that other than your staff being rude. The correct response from you should have been an apology and a willingness to correct the problem, not using the pandemic as an excuse for why the waiter refused to provide friendly prompt service. I will be sure to tell my friends and co-workers about my experience in your restaurant as well as your response."

"Dharani gave us the most beautiful Valentine's Day dinner we could imagine. The restaurant was decorated in a festive and tasteful manner with pastel-coloured balloons, rose petals on the tables and napkins, which are arranged on the tables such as elongated roses. It was a very elegant scene! They made the meal even more romantic by offering a complementary glass of wine for each guest and presenting each lady with an elongated red rose at the end of the meal. Valentine's decorations aside, the dining room is a very elegant ambience on its own: marble top table, plush upholstered chairs, crystal chandelier. Service is very friendly and attentive. Dharanis menu is very extensive, with a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and entrees. The cocktail menu is far better than most other restaurants, every ethnic and they have a wide range of liqueurs. The food was deliciously seasoned, although the level of spiciness in Dharani tends to be hotter than I grew in other Indian restaurants. The chili distributor was very sharp, even at a “mild” level of spicing. Gobi Kothimera Appetizer (Cauliflower in a dry Cilantro Dressing) was from this world. We all enjoyed our entrees and the Onion Kulcha bread. We were only through Herndon for the weekend, but I would like to return with every future visit to this beautiful restaurant! Thanks for an unforgettable evening!"

"The menu features some child-friendly options, but they aren't specifically categorized for kids. The dil kush on display looked delicious, and while it may not compare to what you might find elsewhere, it was still very good and definitely worth trying. They also offer a variety of freshly prepared sweets and pickles for sale. We ordered some madata kaaja and will update on that later. The mango lassi was fairly standard, available in many places, and the Irani chai was disappointing. While waiting for our order, we tried the last two mysore bondas and some punugulu, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The mysore bonda was hard and dense, while the punugulu were overly greasy; one bite felt excessively heavy. We took home puri, idli, and paneer biryani. The puri with potato curry was good—soft and not too oily, complementing the curry well. The idli was decent, but the chutney was terrible, and they forgot to include chutney for two servings of idli. The highlight of the night was definitely the biryani! It was absolutely delightful, especially when paired with the salan, which added a wonderful kick that enhanced the flavors. Don’t miss out on trying the biryani; it’s probably one of the best we’ve had in recent months. I’m giving this place three stars mainly for the biryani and the dil kush, as everything else was barely edible. I would definitely return to sample more biryani and dil kush in the future."
