"I really wish I could rate it higher. But when both the food and wait times are lacking, something 's got to give.I was excited to try my first St. Louis barbecue and was just a little hungry--I didn 't want a huge meal with sides and a basket of bread. So their menu looked perfect to me--two different varieties of mini sliders and even individual ribs for $3. I sat on the patio and ordered the brisket sliders and one rib. I was asked if I wanted the spicy or sweet barbecue sauce on the side, and opted for spicy. The food came out rather quickly. It was the first time in my life I had tasted tough brisket. What a disappointment. Brisket should be fatty, salty, soft to chew. This was stringy and dry. I dipped it in the sauce, which was good, but couldn 't save the meat. I did love the garlic-toasted bun. I hoped the rib might be better, since the menu had called it falling off the bone. Unfortunately, GNAWING off the bone was the best I could do. That piece of meat wasn 't worth $3.My server was at first very friendly and attentive, but when they checked on me at the end of my meal, I said I 'd like the check as soon as they were able. Fifteen minutes later the check was brought, and ten minutes after that my card was returned. I actually took the receipt with the tip inside because I hadn 't seen my server in ages and needed to catch a bus (I 'd already missed one).I used their restroom while I was inside. They are very spacious and clean.I wanted to return on a hungrier day and try their pork steak, but I 'm not sure I want to spend $20 if the meat will be the same quality this was. In a city known for its BBQ, they 're going to have to step it up."

"It hurts to say, but this was the most REGRETTABLE food experiences I 've had. My family is against letting food go to waste if no one wants it, at least let our dog or cats have it but we ended up throwing out all the sides to the trash. Sometimes food is okay, could 've been better or just not your cup of tea, but this was downright horrendous and a waste of nearly $85. Just go to Popeye 's instead. I 'm not sure who I 'm more disappointed with: those who prepared the food or everyone that 's been giving this place four and five star reviews. We got fried chicken, shrimp jambalaya, chicken creole, chicken sandwiches, and sides (potato salad, toast, yams, greens, and clam chowder). I enjoy trying new cuisines here in the Valley, but I will not ever come back here even if the food was on the house and here 's why. First of all, we waited inside nearly 40 minutes for our food. While you look around at the Mardi Gras beads on the chairs and decorations on the shelves, t 's hard to not notice the stained floors. The linoleum has probably been like that for a long time, despite how many times they mop, but it certainly makes you wonder what condition the kitchen is in. So what right I thought. A lot of buildings in the valley haven 't been renovated for decades. Plus, its expensive and restaurants have overhead and staff to pay. At the end of the day we came for the food right? Now, the food itself was horrible. If I could describe it with a meme, it 'd be the middle aged white guy saying You 're not that guy pal. Trust me, you 're not that guy. My mom described the fried chicken as lacking seasoning, smelling funky, and tasting like it was fried in oil that had not been changed in a long time. My sister, who had a fried chicken sandwich, also said it tasted like old oil instead of the spicy Creole seasoning it is described as. My brother and I had the Chicken creole and shrimp jambalaya, respectively. It was reminiscent of middle school forcing myself to eat the cafeteria food cause I forgot my lunch at home. Worst of all were the sides (seen in the pictures above). The potato salad? Tasted like mayonnaise flavored whipped cream. The clam chowder? Gerber with specks of clam. The yams? Mush in a light watery cinnamon and sugar syrup. The greens? Salty, bitter, with the stems still on. Even the toast was bad: it tasted like the crumbs at the bottom of the toaster that haven 't been tossed out in a week. We were gonna get mac n cheese instead of yams, but our server said it was not great today, so if this was the best they had to offer....yikes. For a soul food restaurant, the food here has no soul. At best, its mediocre. At worst, just don 't come here in the first place. The food did not taste fresh and lacked flavor. For as long as we waited, you would expect the line to be out the door but it wasn 't. Seriously, waste of time and money."

"After a lack any response from any Sidelines owner or representative sent on March 8 2024 I am posting the whole experience here. Long story short.. Sidelines (telegraph/alexis) management is terrible and I will never patronize the location again.Below is the majority of the email sent to someone at sidelines claiming to be a rep.I was recently at sidelines 3 (telegraph/alexis) Saturday March 2nd for a dinner with 4 small children and 7 adults. We didn’t make reservations and we understood the wait. As we waited, we were told it may be up to an hour. We noticed several booths open and we offered to separate into smaller parties to sit at a couple different tables. We were told no and the hostess (who was pleasant the whole time) told us the kitchen was backed up and the cooks needed to catch up on tickets; however, during that time no less than 6 other parties ranging from two to four people walked into and were sat immediately. This was after checking with a manager at the location. Why seat more tables when the cooks need to catch up on tickets? We waited patiently still and during that staff several comments were made that made us feel as if staff wanted us to leave the location and find dinner else where. Specifically a comment about how large was “ going to continue drinking for a while”.After about 40 minutes, a waitress who had the large party in her section offered to seat us at two different tables in her section. The large party that was “going to be drinking for while” was mostly middle to older aged patrons consuming mostly water and soda.Once we got sat, service was good and food speedy.I have been a patron of sidelines since 2011 on a regular basis. I have a VIP card and go to sideline on melwood regularly for trivia. We have never felt as if staff from a restaurant wanted us to leave more than that evening.Instead of hammering what is otherwise a good established Toledo area food organization I chose to with hold my comments and just simply rate that specific location. Thanks for reaching out."

"Absolutely the worst possible experience ever!!!!  We have been here before and it was questionable , but tonight takes the cake!!!!!  We arrived at the restaurant at 5:20 on National Margarita night.  It was crowded and we chose to wait in the bar for a table.  There were 7 girls in our Monday night ladies night group.  At 6:20 we asked for the manager as we had taken several trips out to see where we were on the list to discover that they had seated a number  of people below us.  The bartender and bar wait staff were very rude and acted like it was a chore for us to be there.  Finally, ,when we discussed leaving and after talking with the manager we were finally seated.  It took over an hour for our food to come, and again others who came after us were served before we were.  When it finally came, it was cold and disgusting.  One person sent her garbage balls back as they were drowning in sauce and completely unappetizing.  The rest of us had either cold fries or onion rings.  All of us had chick of some sort and it was barely warm.  We instructed the waitress and manager that it had better be free as we waited over 2 hours for cold food.  In the end, they charged all of us half for our cold food, and our drinks.  We all would be happy to pay for the cocktails but the food was disgusting.. Not only was the barmaids rude, the manager also had a rude manner about her and in the end, the waitress was rude and stated that she didn't care if we did not agree with how things went down.  We all were going to tip the waitress as the cold food wasn't her fault, however, when the attitude kicked in to match everyone else, we all took our tip back.  Worst meal and experience we have had in a long time and this particular group eat out together every week someplace. I can assure that the 7 of us will spread the word that this is not the place to go for a good time OR a good meal!  I haven't been treated like this in a very long time and I am a very tolerant person.  Won't be back"
