"Talpa has been our go to Mexican restaurant for 40+ years. There 's a reason it 's survived the LA restaurant scene . Food is great; fresh, hot (heatwise) not just warmed up. Best guacamole just good avocados with no frills. Salsa is roasted and delicious. They 've added a full bar so you can have a margarita if you 'd like. We thought that after the long time owners sold it we 'd be disappointed, but not so. We are still loyal customers, coming back time after time for the great food and our favorite waitresses, Selina and Paula."

Plus, with plenty of free parking, accessing the restaurant is a breeze."

"I ordered 3 meals, including arroz compollo, a meal that frequently comes without rice and beans at other establishments. However, I wanted rice and beans and noticed that, on their menu, the dish was on a list whose heading noted rice and beans were included. Not trusting this, I asked the sever if these sides were indeed included with the meal. She turned the menu so she could read it and told me that they were included, as if I can't read. But when I got home, there were no rice and beans. Go figure. On the positive side, they included chips and salsa. But a handful of the chips were old. Really old. They had an off taste that was disgusting."

"Simple... the best Mexican food in the region. I have literally never ordered any other entrée than the Loco Burrito (pictured top left in their menu, a few pages in . It's so good, all the waiters know what I get, and they're always happy to serve; I love the staff like they're my family. Add a little salt to the chips and salsa, and it's among the best around. The queso fundido is chorizo and melted queso cheese that I could just have them put in a cup for me to drink. It's so, so good. Also, their flank steak reminds me of the flavor of flank steak from a Brazilian steakhouse which, is my favorite. And the Loco Burrito has flank steak, chorizo, and chicken (and it's packed!!! . Oh... my... word... I'm salivating right now (and I just took my dad there today . I can't say enough except that I wish they'd expand up north where I'm moving to (Tipp City and Troy ."

"When you mess up a bagel with cream cheese you can't call yourself the bagel boss. First they took the order of the guy behind me before me so that didn't feel good getting skipped. The line moved slow enough as it is. I asked for an everything bagel with cream cheese. The lady behind the counter comes back to me after a minute and asks if I said butter or cream cheese. When I got to my car I see that they give a minimal amount of cream cheese and found clumps of butter from what I can only assume they were putting on until they realized I may have asked for cream cheese. Just a really bad bagel spot. A good bagel shop would never sell that knowing there's butter on almost half the bagel. Had to rip it into pieces to avoid the butter areas that I didn't ask for. Just throw it out and make it right. Well, now I know.... and so do you!"

"My experience at the restaurant could have been better if my order had been correct. However, they did fix the mistake fairly quickly. I requested a booth, and there were plenty available, yet the older Hispanic hostess insisted I sit at the bar since I was alone. Considering it was almost closing time and the restaurant was mostly empty, it seemed unreasonable not to let me have a booth. I'm not someone who enjoys sitting at the bar or drinking, so that was disappointing. To make matters worse, I was charged for a takeout drink that I never received, so I'll have to return the next time they're open to either get it or request a refund. The waitress was friendly and helpful, except for the issue with the soda. Overall, I found the meal to be pricey, especially given the mistakes they made with my order. As for parking, be aware that there are limited spots for such a large restaurant, and it fills up quickly during peak hours."

"We've passed this place several times but never stopped. This chips and salsa was decent. The salsa was not too spicy and the chips were warm. We ordered the steak fajitas for two and a childs taco with beans and rice. The steak fajita was ok. The meat was cut into small strips and some of them were a little tough and chewy. There were lot of peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. It came with a 2 plates of your average rice and beans. Nothing special. It came with 6 flour tortillas. We ordered the child's taco with beans and rice but ordered it as a soft taco. It was great with a lot of ground meat. Our only grip was that they charged and extra .50 for the flour tortilla without telling us it was going to be extra. I wouldn't have had a problem if they told me but the fact I found out when I got the bill perturbed me. Overall this is an average Mexican restaurant. Food was decent and the service was decent. I did not partake in the alcohol so I can not comment on that but a decent place."

"The restaurant, food and atmosphere exceeded what I was hoping for. The flavors were deep and rich while balancing the spice level. A special touch was the live music that capped the evening perfectly. I highly recommend for a real authentic experience."

"A group of four stopped for dinner before attending a school play nearby. We are from out of state and LasFuentes was recommended by a local customer. We were so satisfied with the suggestion and will most definitely return for another meal when we are in the neighborhood again. The menu was extensive and some of the entrees were unique and definitely made us curious to try on a subsequent visit. Great salsa and chips while we waited for our meal and enjoyed some beverages. We enjoyed Cecina Asada, Shrimp Chimichanga, and a Steak Taco combo meal. We ordered a couple margaritas and a Michelada...very tasty. Excellent service, friendly staff, and a very busy place on a Saturday evening."

"First time in the place… I would never return to this place, if they are going to clean an hour before they close, then they better close the restaurant. They almost swept our feet and the worst thing is that they even removed my unfinished drink from the table. The fajitas I ordered had more vegetables than shrimp and the steak was burnt. My daughter's tacos were all soaked, the cashier with a bad manner and put the money on the counter, leaving me with my hand outstretched... I will never go back 0"

"I so want to give this restaurant a five star review. Their food is delicious. The service is great. The vibe at the restaurant is terrific and they do delivery food with nice extra touches as well. So why can’t I give this place the five star rating it deserves? It’s the salsa. For me, the deal breaker at any Mexican restaurant I frequent, and for me good Mexican food is an obsession since I was a sentient being. I love spicy. In no way could I be characterized as a wimp when it comes to heat in any of the foodie genres I love, whether it be Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese or Indian. However, when I want to go out with friends to have a great time and a fantastic meal, the last thing I want is to have my clothes drenched in sweat and my tastebuds fried beyond function before I even get to the appetizers and my first margarita. Who knows what pepper they put in this stuff—Serrano, Habanero, ghost peppers, who cares? The flavor of the sauce is lovely, the color is perfect, the consistency is sumptuous—for about five seconds. After that I couldn’t tell you what anything tastes like because my mouth is on fire, I’m going through boxes of Kleenex, my shirt is soaked and I’m seriously miserable. Who knows why talented people put their hopes and dreams into an fine eatery like this one, devote so much loving care and effort to their recipes and dishes and offer such a warm welcome, only to punish their customers before they ever get to appreciate the results? Dozens of other reviewers have offered similar complaints, but their owner/manager seems to be either MIA on the issue or perhaps just sadistically enjoying the suffering for who knows what reason. It’s really a shame, because I’m forever in search of a kitchen away from home to replace my former favorites Cafe Cancun and Mario and Alberto’s that have provided me with so much comfort and joy ever since I was in high school in Dallas in the early eighties. This place comes so close—in just about every other way it’s sublime—but until their chef actually tastes the poison being served to customers and recognizes that this is an American restaurant and not Guantanamo Bay, I’m going to have to look elsewhere. Sucks."

"Restaurant is in a strip mall so parking in front is at a premium. Most likely you'll end up parking about a hundred feet away in the large parking lot. Restaurant inside is clean, seating is quick, and the staff is nice. It took about 10 minutes to get our order. The food was nothing extraordinary but it did taste okay. The flan for dessert was five star! The restroom was a whole different story. Upon entering the first thing you notice on the left is the urinal with the pee stain drizzles running down the wall. To your right is the sit-down porcelain unit with the same pee stain drizzles running down the wall. You look at the sink it looks as though Penguins used it as a splash pool and had lots of stains on the wall. Tiling the walls would have made this a whole lot more palatable to the eyes. This would cause me to give the restaurant two stars. The flan did make up for it."

"Easter Sunday, I was very disappointed about the take out food order.I ordered cheese enchilada dinner with 1 Xtra enchilada. The rice and beans were very bland. Two of the enchiladas didn't even have any visible cheese. They looked like and tasted like a tortilla dipped in some tomato sauce and rolled up. The 3rd enchilada, I could see a little trace of cheese. I can say, I didn't get what I paid for unlike several other times I ordered take out there. Previously I've gotten good quality food there.Considering the cost of the cheese enchilada dinner 3 enchiladas and rice and beans with a small side of guacamole, I would have been better off going to Taco Cabana.I don't recommend this place to anyone. They didn't even acknowledge my review. They don't care about customers."
