"Had not visited in a while…thanks pandemic. Things have changed. The hostesses were both excellent and greeted us warmly and made us feel happy to be there. Moby was our server and we were not impressed. He needs more training. For example, we ordered wine. He brought the bottle, opened it, did not give us the cork, immediately poured the wine for all party members without letting us taste it, and left the area. Glad we enjoyed the wine because his service for serving it was poor. Regarding the food, we ordered an appetizer of calamari. We were not sure what they mixed the calamari with, but it was some kind of white fish…and the white fish tasted very fishy. What restaurant adds white fish to calamari? It ruined the entire appetizer. Training for the entire wait staff is needed as the individual serving the steaks (not Moby) had no idea who had ordered what dish and also could not figure out which steak was cooked in what manner i.e. medium rare, medium, etc. When you are paying $50 for a steak, the server should know who ordered what and not come to you table and guess the degree of doneness. Fortunately, the filets and KC Strip were good and cooked to our specifications. The sides were good, especially the scalloped potatoes. We were not sure a chef was present in the kitchen and it showed. Also, the restaurant has previously participated in restaurant week and this year they did not. A bit concerned as this steakhouse has in the past been excellent (both service and food quality) and left us anxious to return. This particular outing, not so much. We hope Boyd’s finds a way to return the restaurant to its former level of excellence."
