"I sat at the bar and asked the bartender for recommendations for a first-time visitor. She suggested three classics: spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. While many restaurants might have servers who either say "they're all good" or try to upsell the most expensive dish, she confidently recommended the chicken parm. Hats off to the staff for their menu knowledge and strong opinions!
I started with a fresh side salad, which was excellent. The chicken parmesan was generous, featuring two substantial pieces accompanied by a side of spaghetti. The chicken was piping hot, as if it had just come off the stovetop, and the cheese melted perfectly over both pieces. I've dined at numerous Italian restaurants over the past year in various cities, and this is the first place that actually cooked the pasta al dente—it's the only way to do it unless you're an infant or forgot your dentures at home!
There were just two minor issues that kept this place from being perfect: the seasoning was a bit salty (though some people might enjoy that), and there was slightly too much sauce on every dish, including the salad dressing. However, when it comes to portions, I’d much rather have a little extra than not enough.
Don’t miss the chance to eat here if you find yourself in South Glens Falls!"
