"Good Indonesian. I must admit, that was my first advance in Indonesia. It will definitely not be the last! The restaurant itself is quite small with about 8 tables or something. It has some decorations on the walls, including a few pictures of the President and Vice(? President of Indonesia. It has somehow felt this hole in the wall, but it is in a newer style shopping center. The staff is very friendly and it seems like a family house. As for food, it was really good. My fiancée and I started with the Martabak Telor appetizer (deeply fried crepes filled w/earth beef, egg, scalion onion. She described them first as spanikopita quiche that gives them is not 100% accurate, but I think it is quite close. It definitely has a flocky crust on it and the filling is nice and tasty and not unlike a meat quiche. She then had the Bakmi Ayam Nyah Niek (egg noodle w/chicken, mushrooms, roasted Wintons, and served with meatball soup. It came with a side of some pretty sharp red pepper sauce that added some nice heat to the dish. The meatball soup was rather unlustered; two small meatballs in a bland broth. But the main part of the plate was really good. I had the Bihun Goreng (stir fried rice noodles w/chicken, meatballs, egg and vegetables that came with these fried rice crackers things. It reminded me of a Chinese dish, but with more taste. Both dishes also came with these small fried mushroom pieces, which added a beautiful small crumb factor at meals. I see myself coming here quite often, especially because they are open until midnight and during lunch you can choose 3 dishes for $5. The portions are huge, especially for how cheap it is. The menu has descriptions in English, but the Specials Board is strict in Indonesia. Next time I have to ask for some basic descriptions of the cash register, or maybe you just trust her to get something for me!"
