"Makanmakan seems to follow this pattern. While the food was edible, it was ultimately forgettable. I ordered a clear noodle dish with jumbo prawns (which were sparse) and smoked pork, but it arrived as a mushy mix rather than a distinct combination of noodles, vegetables, and meat. The steamed rice, which is always a good indicator of a restaurant's quality, was disappointing and mushy—reminiscent of Denny's rather than authentic, high-quality sticky rice that they should be serving. It seems that they are cutting corners, likely to save money, as sticky rice would require a greater investment. While the food was satisfactory, it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Truly excellent meals create memories that make you eager to return, and Makanmakan falls short of this standard. The atmosphere, with its noisy concrete floors, didn’t help either, though I must commend the service, which was attentive and commendable. However, I doubt I will return in the future."

We've been here twice and the second time was as good as the first! The food is so good! We had the same server both times and they were great! If you like Asian style food, you will love this place. The noodles are so good! We loved everything we got!Food: 5/5

This restaurant offers a fantastic mix of East Asian cuisines. The portions are generous, the quality is high, and the food is simply outstanding. Each dish is packed with spices and ingredients, so if you prefer bland dishes, this might not be the right choice for you. I highly recommend it! Food rating: 5/5. View menu

The food was absolutely delicious! The Laksa was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. We also tried the spring rolls and a glass noodle dish with chicken and shrimp (I can’t recall the name). Both were tasty! We were seated promptly since it was a weekday lunchtime. The staff was very efficient. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5!

I dined in here with a group of 5 including a baby. The service was phenomenal! Our server Aubrey was very attentive and got all our order correctly! The food tasted really good. I got red curry w fish it’s breaded and fried to its perfection!! Their Chinese broccoli dish is really good too. We also got our desserts!! Everything was amazing. Luckily we didn’t have to make a reservation : we will definitely go back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We decided to take out after we arrived to this location. It just didn’t seem that inviting a place to stay and dine. They had some decorations as you can see in some of the pictures. The service was good. We ordered the Ayam Bakar gluten free. When we got it home, we figured out that gluten free meant we didn’t get any dark sweet soy sauce mentioned in the description. Without the sauce, some of the chicken tasted a little dry. The single order portion was generous enough to feed the two of us. The menu has a lot to offer. So take my one item order for what it’s worth- just one item. We wish the communication would have been better. View menu

After such a pretty long wait, we're so excited to finally eat Indonesian food at Makanmakan! The food was pretty good; the satay was great with peanut sauce, my American friend liked it a lot, the rendang was fine, but it was a bit salty and their sambal terasi was superb, but the drink (es campur) didn't taste as authentic as I thought it'd be. Not to mention, the staff were very friendly and communicative!! I'd recommend this place for those craving or missing Asian tastes!! 8.5/10 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Beef Rendang, Es Campur, Chicken Skewers

My husband ordered through Grub Hub to use credit on his account. We were at the restaurant, because we don’t like our food delivered. Anyway, I need to eat gluten free and a menu posted on Google reviews had gluten free options. We ordered the Ayam Bakar, which is chicken cooked with a dark sweet soy sauce. We were told at first that it couldn’t be made gluten free, then was told it could. It was tender and well-cooked, but flavor was missing. No soy sauce flavor. Probably because their soy sauce had gluten. I wish I had been told this, I would have ordered something else! Good portion size, I shared with my husband. Beware menus that mention gluten free options.

"Wow! These guys really know how to make a fantastic potsticker. We tried the sweet corn, beef, and pork varieties, and they were all amazing. We also ordered the ham fried rice, kimchi, and the daily special – everything was genuinely great. The service was excellent, and you could tell the ingredients were super fresh! The potstickers were so delicious that I regretted only ordering eight! Haha. The outer pastry was crispy on the bottom and edges, while soft on the sides, striking the perfect balance in thickness – not too thick and not so thin that it becomes flimsy. The fillings were tasty as well. We devoured them so quickly that I forgot to take photos! Haha. I believe there's a flavor for everyone; if you're not a fan of corn, you can easily choose something other than the sweet corn. But if you love corn, it's an excellent option. I particularly enjoyed the beef filling. Both dipping sauces were delicious, with the sweet pale sauce being especially delightful with the corn potstickers. The ham fried rice was incredibly flavorful, with perfectly sticky rice and fresh ingredients like ham, carrots, and green beans in generous portions. The daily special we had was delicious slow-cooked pork in a light sauce served on cabbage, but keep in mind that it changes daily, so we will definitely be back to try more! The kimchi had a nice level of spiciness, and the brown color mixed well with the rice. You've got to try this place out! The owner was really friendly, even venting the box of potstickers before serving them to prevent moisture from making them soggy. Such a thoughtful gesture! I can't wait to return soon."

"I had an exceptional dining experience at Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Murray—possibly the best service I've encountered at a restaurant this year! The customer service was outstanding; it's evident that this establishment is well-managed. We visited on a busy Friday night, and despite the large groups ahead of us, we were seated promptly in about 40 minutes. It was a nice touch that they offered snack crackers for customers while we waited. Our waiter was attentive, taking our orders for meat and broth right away and checking in on us regularly. We left feeling completely satisfied! The buffet was well-stocked and clean, with highlights among the hot foods being the pig trotters, sesame chicken (the sauce was a mystery, but it was delicious), and the kimchi/cucumber salad, along with the stir-fried udon. The drink options were also a hit, particularly the milk tea which our table thoroughly enjoyed. The vegetables and hot pot ingredients were incredibly fresh and well-prepared. Our favorite meats for the hot pot were the pork belly and garlic beef, while the iron steak didn't impress us as much. One personal note: I wished they had used fewer goji berries in the broths; by the end of the meal, they all tasted too much like herbal tonics, which, while healthy, wasn't the best flavor with the meats. The atmosphere was relaxed and modern, perfect for conversation, and we appreciated the complimentary ice cream at the end of the meal. Overall, I would definitely return! "I have always had a good experience here but on Saturday the 18th, it couldn’t be worse. While the restaurant was what would be considered a normal flow of diners, my partner and I were standing at the podium for around 10 minutes just waiting to be seated. Not the biggest deal, it is what it is. Once seated our waiter was prompt with our drinks and after that the service went downhill very quickly. We ordered the all you can eat sushi for the two of us $72 and some change with tax included as the final bill). Once ordering the first roll it took 20 minutes to receive it and following that it took yet again another 20 minutes for the waiter to bring out the second roll. The Ginza roll we had ordered with eel sauce came out and had fruit flies/ gnats on top of it and hovering around the dish. Where we didn’t have any bugs around us prior to this, the sushi roll was the clear reason for the bugs. Our waiter was unfortunately not attentive and we were out of drinks after the first 20 minutes of us sitting down. When our waiter had finally come back to us, he asked if we wanted to order any other rolls and we told him we would need just a minute but we would like him to come back. Instead, he had dropped the bill on the table and never came back. Paying for the all you can eat sushi was not worth it as the wait time for the rolls was ridiculous and the quality was disappointing. The cost of the rolls without us paying for the all you can eat sushi came out to be way less and we had in fact paid more for the “all you can eat” than we would have for the rolls by themselves. It’s disappointing as we had intended to order more to get our money’s worth and just enjoy the sushi in general and we were unable to do so.The service was disappointing and it’s unfortunate because it is usually spot on and the food is always perfect. I’m not sure if it was just that night that things were not as great as they typically are, but either way, the Ginza roll with the fruit flies/gnats flying on and around it is not excusable."
