"First off, the Escarole and White Beans were overcooked to the point where the escarole lost all its flavor, and the beans were mushy—making it feel like you were scooping ice cream out of a heated container.
Next was the Broccoli Rabe with Orecchiette and Sausage—a classic dish that reminds me of Cittanuova down the street. Unfortunately, this version was smothered (and I mean overwhelmed) with shredded Ricotta Salata cheese, which I usually enjoy, but the rest of the dish was bone dry. There was absolutely no sauce or moisture at all. The broccoli rabe tasted like canned spinach and was just as unappetizing—awful and dry.
I won’t be spending my money here again. Even the sandwich I tried first was just mediocre. I’m also skeptical about the Italian cookies on display, which are usually my favorite, as they seem stale rather than fresh and are likely not checked for quality. Over the past decade or so, this place has gone from standing out to settling for "good enough," and now, "good enough" just isn't good enough anymore."
