"The chicken and waffles are a must eat and this is my first time ever having chicken and waffles in my life. I didn't even eat it with the syrup brought out that's how good it was. My daughter loved the strawberry cupcakes with homemade icing .The chicken tenders 3/10 fry's 6/10 Cakes 10/10! Drinks included mozzarella sticks also 10/10 very filling. P.S. check the artwork on my post from the Ladies' bathroom and from the stage upfront. Check this little spot out. The new chef is a real working lil lady and spot on chef ??. Kudos to her hard work. Her customer service was way fly!!!"

Each person ordered a different kind of enchiladas and tacos and then we traded around so that everyone could try several kinds. We were severed quickly which would be good for people who have an evening engagement. Our only complaint was that it was quick noisy which made it difficult to hear each other at our table."

"I'm torn about doing this review, because I really wanted to be able to say I finally found a black owned spot I can actually count on, but I ended up having to throw $30 of food out because I just couldn't eat it and they didn't give me all I asked for. The customer service was great which gave me high hopes, but the food? TUH... Ordered a coconut shrimp w/ black rice, green plantains, and a side of black beans sauce. Not what I originally came for but they didn't have what I ordered (even though it was on the menu). Firstly it says online you can place a reservation to dine in. Ummm... WHERE? Is it behind the kitchen, Because I walked in and found no dining tables just counter space against the walls with a few chairs. The place IS NOT big enough to come dine in, but I digress... When they didn't have what I originally ordered I settled on the coconut shrimp, which was way too sweet and sitting on top of lettuce in the same container they put the HOT rice. Fair to say the lettuce was not eaten because it was soggy and hot. No dressing provided anyways. The person taking my order said they had black rice so I opted for that and when asked was told it came with sauce. I got neither. They gave me brown rice and beans and there was no sauce. Who eats rice dry??? I tried... The rice, though HOT, tasted like it was on the brink of spoiling and it was clear they scraped it from the bottom of the pot, because why is gratin in my $30 plate. I didn't ask for that. The green plantains I asked for was ignored and I was given barely done sweet plantains dripping in HOT grease. And the black beans sauce I asked for on the side was crazy salty. I get sometimes a thing or two being off. There's grace for that, but this was worse than that for me. And this day I was HUNGRY and craving. Ruined my night. As expensive as dining out is, I won't second chance this spot, because I have no confidence that I won't have to throw out my plate again."

"I would give the food 5 stars as it was delicious, but my overall experience at the restaurant was not the best. I dined solo and my waitress took a long time to come to my table. Another table that arrived after me was served quickly by a different waitress who seemed more attentive. The hostess noticed that I had not received my water or drink and stepped in to help. My food arrived before my waitress returned with my drinks. I ordered the jerk chicken and shrimp Mac and Cheese, which was tasty and a generous portion. It was disappointing that my waitress seemed careless with her tables. Another table near me ended up leaving because she never checked on them or updated them on their food. I understand that there may be staffing shortages at restaurants, but next time I might order takeout instead. Despite the service issues, the food was really good."

Both were large portions and well worth the cost! The panini is beautifully layered and the bread has a perfect crunch. The waffles were good and plenty.For Sunday brunch I tried a number of items. The buffet is diverse, offering items including fresh fruit, brisket, pasta salad, cheesy grits, and other pairings like mozzarella, tomato and cucumbers. My absolute favorites were the pasta salad, the brisket (it literally MELTS on contact), the shrimp and grits and the fruit. The strawberry limoncello is tasty and cute!The manager Anthony is a delight! His hospitality will made me come back for sure.If you’re seeing this, it is your sign to try Bistro La Bon. "The fish selection is extensive, with different types of fish, clams, oysters, and shrimp available. They also sell all the essentials like crab picking knives, oyster shucking knives, plastic knives, mallets, hot sauces, and seasonings—pretty much everything you could need. I ordered small male crabs and Raspberry Point oysters. The crabs were seasoned perfectly, packed with sweet meat and plenty of mustard. The oysters were outstanding—very salty, but in a delightful way. They even provided a roll of paper for the table and threw in an extra oyster, which was a nice touch. I can't wait to come back and see what else I can try!"

"This was my first experience coming here for my birthday and it was not the best. I wish I would have went somewhere else. We waited about 15mins after arriving justand to get water and order drinks. I had a creole margarita and could barely taste the liquor. I ordered the salmon bites for an appetizer that I received at the same time as my meal. The salmon bites were mediocre and the sauce tasted store bought. I ordered the Jazz District Steak medium well which was tender and cooked to perfection which is why I gave it two stars. The best thing was the atmosphere and music, however when I go out I’m looking for a full experience. Try it at your own accord but be willing to wait and not compare the service to other big name steak houses in the city."

"My experience at the restaurant was fantastic. The food was delicious. We sampled lamb, nut sprouts, chicken fried rice, calamari, Spanish octopus, and steak with truffle sauce, and every single dish was outstanding. Our server was very attentive and humorous, and it was clear he was engaged with us—he even broke a sweat running back and forth to the table. We had a minor issue with one of the dishes, but he promptly resolved it. The decor inside is charming, and the live DJ added a nice touch. The music was perfectly balanced—not too loud, so we could easily chat, but just the right volume to enjoy singing along occasionally. I will definitely return, not only for the food but to soak in the great atmosphere."

"my man and I came here as daytime. Friday afternoon it was about 1230. they were not busy. we sat fast and shortly after us was a table. our server came and got our drink orders. it took about 10 minutes to get two beers. in the 10 minutes were two other tables. all three tables have been drinking before us. our server brought back our drinks and said something was wrong with the bar, but the other tables had similar. we have placed our orders. she also took the order of the table sat at the same time as (no great thing, efficient). we ordered porcelain sticks, a Hawaiian pizza and a steak quesadilla. all three tables that came after us were served first. two of them finished eating, paying and leaving before we got our food. when we got our food, the pizza was a margarita pizza without sauce. my man pointed this to our server and assured him it was a Hawaiian. he took a piece and found out that there was no soak and was only tomato and basilikum. he hates dead. he pulled another server over and asked if this was her Hawaiian pizza. he assured us it wasn't. So he came back and got us the right pizza. we waited another 20 minutes to get the right pizza. at this time my man had eaten half of my lunch. I don't think this experience should be related to the restaurant. it was a beautiful environment and good eating. but I am annoyed that after all frustration and lunch almost 3 hours (we have around 330) that no mistake was even detected on the server. Maybe we will give it sometime in the future another go and use another server. the rest of them seemed to be on their game."

"I visited the new location for the first time and ordered the catfish, which instantly became my favorite dish. I honestly never thought anything could be better than my Grandma's, but this was. I'm also really obsessed with the string beans—they’re fantastic! In fact, everything on the menu is DELICIOUS. The staff is wonderful and incredibly patient, especially when I can’t decide what to order. Every time I try something new, I’m pleasantly surprised. The owner mentioned that they take pride in offering tasty low-sodium options, which is important to me since I have hypertension. I absolutely LOVE Great Granns!!! I’m definitely a customer for life!"
