"We were hotel guests, and have dined here before. Was good. Very good. It is the Four Seasons after all. This visit the staff were very sympathetic to our quite specific shellfish allergies, however because of the strong seafood theme our menu options were quite limited. No biggie, we are used to that. The Four Seasons! Let's go... So, we saw calamari on the menu. My son's fave! Can we have it deep fried? 'No. Saute only. No deep fry'. Sorry to have asked. OK, we will have 2x racks of lamb. For $45 each we received two mini potatoes, two mini carrots, and two extremely overcooked pieces of broccolini. Oh, and two hockey stick lamb chops. It's official. A rack of lamb is now two chops. Oh! There was bread. My wife had the salmon, but didn't eat it because it was dry and overcooked. Like a phone book.Note: Everything was EXTREMELY salty. Like, kidney stone inducing salty. I gave one of the lamb chops to my daughter because her soup was too salty, and I admitted defeat and gave the other one to my son because we ran out of bread, and the petite broccolini didn't fill him up. I settled for water. And my petite broccolini. I wasn't giving that up for anyoneWe went to Carl's Jr for dessert. Breakfast was oatmeal, a kids buffet, french toast, and multigrain toast (I was actually served wholewheat, with a single teaspoon of butter, no jam, no nothing. I wish I had known, as we make our own berry preserves, and I would have taken a jar. And a sandwich), two coffees, and two juices. $95. What ticked me off was the waiter argued about letting my little girl have the buffet (she is a grazer with a small appetite), and he was (I will say it) rude when my son had trouble verbalizing his order. The first time I dined at a Four Seasons was in Singapore in 1979. That was spectacular. I had Scottish smoked salmon flown in that morning. Donna Summer was the floor show. Live. This place has argumentative wait staff, small servings, and over-seasoned food. I thought I was re-living the "L'Idiot." restaurant scene from LA Story. If you don't know that scene, it isn't good. Not good at all."

"My husband and I dined at Amanda’s in Hoboken for the first time and requested a window seat in advance when we made the reservation. When we arrived, the hostess indicated that the window seats were only for parties of three or four. No problem at all until shortly after we were seated a couple (party of 2) was seated at a window seat. Being the only African-Americans in the restaurant at the time and to see a Caucasian couple enter in and be seated at a table we were told we couldn’t have access to, was very insulting as well as highly unprofessional. We asked the hostess why they were able to be seated at the window seating we were denied access to and she initially lied and said they were a party of three but only two people arrived. There were clearly two pre set menus at the table prior to the couple arriving. When we spoke to the manager, he came clean and said that the two diners were regulars and always sit by the window every week. This whole situation could have been avoided if they were just honest in the first place. As for courtesy and integrity 0/10. As for the food, it was slightly above average 6/10. As for our server, he had poor communication skills, very little eye contact and could use additional training in fine dining customer service 3/10. The most enjoyable part of our dining experience was the live entertainment and the young lady pouring the water. We’ve decided not to return or recommend this establishment. It’s just too many great restaurants in Hoboken to be subjected to awkward and subpar service."

"We arrived to find extremely loud music that was difficult to talk over. Waited for 20 minutes while waiters passed by and never acknowledged us. Needed to ask if there was a waiter that could take a drink order. Phil came by took our order and disappeared. During our dinner he also stopped by to fill my husband’s water whisked away quickly ignoring the rest of us. We needed to ask twice for another table setting since we were 4 and there was just 3. No one came to ask us if we would like appetizers and we had to ask for water and bread. Popovers were served were surprisingly delicious. The restaurant wasn’t fully booked so I’m not sure if they were understaffed because it was the night before New Year’s or what was going on. However, no one came back until we asked again. A waitress named Jude was the answer to our dinner prayers. Sweetest girl with the biggest smile, very professional and was on top of everything that we asked for. The food was good but we had ordered a butternut squash salad and had to look for the butternut squash, which was well hidden. There was a little bit of entertainment, a lit up butterfly costume, and a woman doing a fire act. At the end of the evening when she came by, she asked my husband why he was so afraid of the fire. We weren’t sure what she was talking about. I would suggest she shouldn’t criticize customers. If I ever returned, it would only be because of Jude. The food was good but…"
