"While we found the service to be a lot friendlier and the decor a lot more distinctive at their sister restaurant Joy the night before, the creative cuisine ultimately made this a very positive experience.Cauliflower Gnocchi (tomato cherry sauce, mango chutney, charred apple purée, chives, manchego cheese, crispy fried garlic was incredible and gorgeously presented, perfectly symmetrical arrangement.Hokkaido Scallop with Curry (taro purée, watermelon radishes, crispy shallots, chives, coconut milk, black garlic dressing succulent scallops with a creamy and indulgent sauce, yum.Crispy Pork Belly (sweet plantain queso fresco canelón, ajicero salsa, mango guasacaca, congri rice Not as epic as hoped but still quite good.Crispy Maitake (shishito purée, roasted cherry tomato ragu, merken vinaigrette probably the most inventive and flavorful dish we tried. Couldn't believe how the texture of the crunchy mushroom and the creamy sauce came together.Lomito con Aligote (Prime beef tenderloin, yuca aligote croquette, beef jus perfect petite cuts of beef, plenty of natural flavor and accented perfectly. For dessert, we tried two items:Cacao Laurel (dark chocolate basil crumble, milk chocolate cremeux, bay leaves ice cream, quinoa tuile was good but not particularly memorable.Strawberry Pistachio Meringue (meringue, white chocolate cream, pistachio dacquoise, pistachio ice cream was heavenly, a divine creation we couldn't believe we got to try.And I sampled two cocktails:The Coco Tarzan (Grey Goose, Falernum, Coconut, Citrus Fruits, Mexican Cinnamon, Allspice was a lush tropical journey, but perfectly balanced. The Mango Bajito (Sagamore Rye, Disaronno, Sherry oloroso, Sumac, Cardamom, Mango, Lemon, Egg Whites kept it on a Caribbean tip for the drinks, and while not as impressive as the first cocktail, it still was quite good but just not as well balanced. Our server was unfortunately rude in the first interaction which put a bit of a damper on our special dining experience. He realized he messed up and sort of tried to make up for it later but that first nasty negative impression was indelible."
