"Our father's day celebration on June 19, 2022, was filled with loving thoughts, joyful hours, and memorable moments. Raven served our delicious, nutritious lunch. She was friendly, professional, and sincere as she was attentive to our needs, cheerfulas she helped us, and knowledgeable regarding our orders. Garret, on the other hand, served our appetizers. His humorous stylemade us laugh with his jokes, resulting in a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Black Angus in El Cajon is a fine diningplace because, in addition to its adequate parking spaces, the workers observed punctuality, as manifested by the timely arrivalof our appetizers, main courses, salads, and beverages. The prime rib and lobsters were cooked to perfection as we felt thetenderness and succulence of the meat while we were biting on them. The salads were fresh, prepared with the right amount ofvegetables, and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. The server mixed the beverages with the right amount of sweetness andacidity. The table was clear of unnecessary plates, cups, silverware, and other dining necessities. Undisturbed by noisy peopledining nearby and partly surrounded by high-upholstered benches, the place was quiet and provided an unexpected but neededprivacy. Raven and Garret performed their duties not obsequiously but accommodatingly, as indicated by their warm smile andcheerful demeanor. The confluence of a warm and cozy room, delicious food, refreshing beverages, needed privacy, and reasonableand outstanding service made our father's day celebration satisfying and worth repeating."

"I had requested a booth ahead of time due to our service dog, but never received a confirmation. When we arrived, they tried to seat us at a regular table. After waiting several minutes, we had to ask for menus and water. It took quite a while for our orders to be taken, and the appetizer arrived just moments before our main dishes were served. My husband had to ask a server for a water refill, and the waiter never bothered to ask if I needed one, even though it was clear that I did. I ended up waiting at least 10 minutes before the waiter finally came back to our table. Overall, the waitstaff showed very little attention. We had to request that they clear away the plates that had been sitting on our table for over 20 minutes. The bill was also incorrectly calculated; the appetizer was supposed to be discounted, and there was an attitude when I asked for it to be corrected. While the food was decent, especially with the buy-one-get-one offer, the terrible service makes it hard for me to recommend this steakhouse to others."

"I have to say, I have always loved the Black Angus, and on this visit, it was still good, but I noticed a reduction in portion sizes. I'm sure that was purposeful to alleviate increased costs. However, the salad was a bit on the skimpy side, and so was the mac and cheese dish. Notwithstanding, the steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Well done, Black Angus! What I least like nowadays, is the fact that Black Angus stopped playing country music. I find that offensive because it has a ranch/cowboy theme and country music is the best music to hear while dining. Every other restaurant in the world plays the same **** you guys are now playing. You need to fix that! Otherwise, our server was fantastic and very sweet. I will always come back to the Black Angus, but please go back to what set you apart from the other dime a dozen restaurants. Play country music, focus on great food for reasonable prices, and people will return over and over."

"I place an order for pick up at 6:00pm. Received a text message that it was ready inside for pick up so we drove to the restaurant. Got here and was told that it is not ready and the Manager could not provide a time frame for the wait. Why send a text that our order is ready, if it is not actually ready? We have now been waiting in the heat for 27 minutes as I write this. I know they're busy today, its why we ordered an hour ahead. Again, why send text that my order is ready inside of its not actually ready? 35 minutes later just got home to find our steaks grossly overcooked. Both were supposed to be rare, both are well done. My sister fed her steak to the dogs. Chile mac and cheese, no Chile and has pork on it that is also overcooked. Will not be ordering from Black Angus again and I've called the restaurant six times. No answer. I'm calling again tomorrow to ask for refund. Huge disappointment!"

"The server was rude, served us the wrong order. When my husband question her why the steak is small this time (we always order the same item), her reply “IT'S CORRECT SIZE, THEY WEIGHED IT MAYBE BECAUSE IT HAS MORE FATS” and left immediately ignoring my husband who was handing her the used side plates. My husband also ordered another glass of wine which was never served. She came back but didn't even look at my husband but instead asked my son in law if he needs anything else. She never came to ask how's our meal. Second time she came back, she ignored again my husband and all of us noticed her being hostile towards my husband. When my daughter asked for the bill, my husband told the server, that his second glass of wine was not served and her reply was “IT'S WAITING FOR YOU AT THE BAR”. The worst part is when we got the bill, we were overcharged by 1 prime rib (we only ordered 2 but she charged us 3) and a glass of wine that was never served. When we question the bill she made a new one and took the wrong one and threw it. My husband went to speak to the Manager who was nice enough to apologize and offer a discount (which my husband told him that we're not asking for discount) but the Manager made an excuse that they were busy and I even heard him saying “nobody's perfect”. We always come to this particular branch since we always get good service and food, but this night's experience ruined our Mother's Day celebration."

"Typically, after a Thanksgiving meal, you feel so stuffed you can't move. However, this was the first Thanksgiving where I ended up going home and heating something up in the microwave. The "all you can eat" dinner came with just two small slices of turkey (without gravy), mashed potatoes, stuffing, and turnips. When I asked for gravy, I was told, "We have no gravy." The turkey was a bit dry, although the overall quality of the food was decent. When I requested a little more turkey, stuffing, and potatoes—as one would expect with an "all you can eat" special—I was told they were out of turkey and stuffing, but I could have more potatoes. To compensate for the lack of turkey, they offered me extra pie. I can't understand how they could miscalculate the amount of turkey needed to satisfy everyone who ordered the Thanksgiving special, and to suggest more pie as a replacement seems absurd. An alternative entrée or a sincere apology with a complimentary meal would have been more appropriate, but extra pie? I don’t think so."
