"I've visited here in the past, but it's been a few years. I fondly remember enjoying the family style dining. Most recently I ate here with a friend and it left a bit to be desired... They were busy when we arrived but my friend had made a reservation so we didn't have to wait long. We were seated in a corner booth type table. Friend is gluten free and we chose this restaurant as they offered gf pasta dishes. That did not disappoint. It was exciting to learn that all of their sauces are gluten free and they have a pasta offering as well. They had a special 2 for dinner special and we ordered that. We both selected salads, chicken fettucine alfredo and we had the caramel apple torte with ice cream on the side (ice cream is gf). I also asked if they offered a bread service and the waitress advised that they did. I was very excited for dinner! The food and service however were disappointing.... bread service arrived after the salads... There was confusion with the salads one was supposed to be gf, the other dressing on the side. Neither had croutons and both had dressing on them. The person delivering them was also confused with them and they gave us a bit of doubt about whether the gf portion of the meal would be accurate (this is very important when you have celiac). The pastas arrived and sadly they only tasted okay. I thought maybe it was a preference on my behalf but friend was also disappointed with the flavor. The sauce lacked flavor and texture.... I still had hope for the dessert but didn't care much for it either. The outer crust had a flavor I didn't care for and I didn't finish. The ice cream however was delicious! Service throughout the meal was sporadic but they were busy so we didn't think much of it. However when it was time for dessert and the check our waitress was ready and literally advised she would wait while i reviewed the dessert menu and made a selection. Overall, it was nice that they had multiple sauce offerings that were gluten free as this was a main driver of us choosing this restaurant, however based on food taste, I most likely would not return. There are too many other great Italian restaurants in st louis."

"I recently dined at this charming restaurant with two friends on a Friday evening around 6:30 PM, and we had a delightful experience. The restaurant features two areas connected by a narrow corridor. The front section has bar seating and a few tables, while the back area, where we were seated, has more comfortable table seating. It has an inviting and dimly lit atmosphere that sets a cozy vibe. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated in the back, and since the restaurant was still fairly empty, we enjoyed a calm dining experience. As our meal progressed, more guests filtered in, and by the time we left around 7:15, the place was bustling. We ordered a variety of dishes: the Soup of the Day (Lobster Bisque), Linguine Seafood with White Wine Sauce, Lobster Ravioli, and Fra Diavolo Mussels with a side of linguine. Although we had the option of choosing French fries, we decided that more pasta would be a better choice! The soup was served promptly, and soon after, the rest of our meals arrived. The lobster bisque was hot, rich, and creamy, packed with generous chunks of lobster that made it feel like a cozy hug on a chilly autumn day. The seafood linguine was also rich and creamy, enhanced by a slight tanginess from the white wine, creating a wonderfully complex flavor. The dish was overflowing with fresh calamari, shrimp, and mussels. The lobster ravioli was impressive—large pieces drenched in a creamy tomato sauce. The filling was delicious, with gooey cheese and minced lobster, and it was topped with even more lobster chunks. As for the mussels, they came in a delectable light yet spicy tomato sauce (which was more like a soup than a sauce). The sauce had fantastic flavor and just the right amount of heat, with plenty of fresh mussels to savor. While the side of pasta was a bit plain on its own, it paired beautifully with the other dishes and could easily serve as a simple pasta dish for kids. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They kept an eye on our water glasses and refilled them without us having to ask—definitely a nice touch! They also promptly brought us hot water upon request, which can often be overlooked in other places. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a restaurant. I've visited a few times before, and each experience has been equally enjoyable. It's a true neighborhood classic, with fantastic food, top-notch service, and a cozy atmosphere, all at reasonable prices. I’d rate this a solid 10/10 and can't wait to return!"

"I did not want to post a review the day we went to this restaurant because I was really too upset to write about it. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time, even though we have lived in the valley for 15 years. We are Hispanic and this is the first time in the 15 years we have lived in this valley that we have felt discriminated. The hostess took us to our table almost immediately and she brought water. After that we waited for 10 minutes until the bartender came to our table and told us that he only had to sing happy birthday to a customer and he would be right back. That didn 't happen. He did attend to the other customers but did not come back to our table, even though my husband had order a drink when he came the first time. The drink came after another 10 minutes, but it was brought to him by another waiter. We waited at least 10 more minutes and since nobody came to take an order we stood up and started leaving. It was at that exact moment that the bartender followed us outside and started yelling at us that he was going to come to our table. I turned around and in a quiet voice told him that we could talk about it but instead of talking to me he walked away. Then he came back and asked me What do I do with your glasses? Do I throw them away? I thought he was talking about our water glasses and hesitated for a second. I then realized that he was talking about my reading glasses that were left on the table and came back to pick them up. In a quiet voice again I told him we could talk about this I do not want to make a scene. But instead he told me that he could 've just thrown my glasses away and walked away from me. He never acknowledged the fact that we had been waiting for a half hour, without any service. We felt extremely humiliated and thought that we had received that treatment because we are not white. I would 've loved to talk to a manager, but then I found out that he is the manager. Too bad! They lost two clients. However I can see they really can 't care less."

"I've known about this place for a while and wanted to give it a try. My wife and l went today for lunch. Walked in, place was dead. Granted it was 3: 00pm on a Tuesday, but staff was lounging in almost all the seating area and l found it unprofessional. But, they quickly dispersed as we entered and decided to sit down for lunch. Waitress came over and brought one menu, told usmore menus were on the salt and pepper condiment holder. Menu was colorful but somewhat confusing to understand. As thewaitresses found her cell phone was more entertaining than taking our order. I got up and told her she can put in a 14-in cheesepie. Food took a while and came out a bit overcooked, oily and somewhat crunchy. We're not the type to complain, but ourwaitress was again too busy with her cell phone to find out if we needed any refills on our beverages, I even had to get upagain and ask her for the check. Place could use a little reconditioning, dining room is extremely dated and in minimaldisrepair. Would have liked staff to be a little more friendly and attentive, but again it was a Tuesday afternoon in the middleof the day. So, maybe they cheer up when the Sun goes down. Who knows. Paid cash and left more than a fair tip. Was hoping for abetter experience and better food. You live and learn Had the waitress been a little more attentive, and the pizza not beovercooked and oily. This place might have earned three stars tops Hoping you the reader have a better experience."
