"Looking for a bite to eat a little later in the evening than usual, I got a craving for pizza, and decided to finally stop by this place that I have slept on for decades. True. Even after closing in on 6 million views, and having reviewed over a thousand restaurants, I am sadly, or on the other hand joyfully, just now discovering Italian cuisine. Cugini, has an incredible menu of House made pastas, calzones, and of course, wood fired pizza. I ordered the Sicilian, with mozzarella and sopressata, and watched it sizzle next to the open fire, while I drank a glass of delicious white wine, recommended by my server, a Berkeley local who was super cool and informative and new her way around the menu. I generally have to be careful when I eat in the East Bay since it is a rare occasion when I do not run into 10 people that I know, and I usually end up spending more time talking than eating, which kind of gets in the way of my restaurant enjoyment, which is why I don't really eat very close to where I live that much anymore. However the place was thinning out, I was there last customer, and in the end had this beautiful place all to myself, with a delicious wood fired pizza, and ended my night with a cannoli, and a cappuccino. There are a lot of different kinds of pizza, and several different levels of quality when it comes to Wood-Fired pizzas, and this place is top tier. The ingredients all tasted super fresh, the atmosphere was great, and I intend to go back again. Highly recommended for people who want delicious, almost exotic tasting food, without so much spice, or without always depending on the local Asian restaurants which are incredible in their own right. The Italian thing is just a completely different vibe, and I'm glad I finally discovered this spot on Solano which until recently was a secret to me. Five stars."

"Sometimes when my husband has errands, he occasionally offers to take me out somewhere new to eat. This was one of those days that I was really excited about. I googled a few places closer to the waterfront in Seattle because it was bright and sunny out which is rare for this time of year, however, I couldn 't find anything I was interested in so I started looking for restaurants similar to the Carlile room and this one popped up. One of the things that I really liked while checking out some of the other reviews it seemed like there wouldn 't be a wait time. The entryway is a little narrow and the space is small BUT the layout is really nice and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We got a nice little corner on the edge of outdoor seating by the window.Service was interesting. I couldn 't read the vibe. It was either I 'm just here so I don 't get fined or I 'm just doing my job . Either way, I wouldn 't categorize it as friendly. They were cordial though and prompt. The food absolutely makes up for what service lacks. It was fresh and cooked well. One fascinating thing happened I ordered over medium fried eggs and half came out medium the other came out Sunnyside. Never seen that before.I recommend the corned beef and hash with breakfast potatoes. I had food envy watching my husband enjoy that. I got The Broadway and liked it, though.Check this place out.Vegetarian options: Potatoes, fruit, veggies, bread"

"Let me start by saying the brisket burger and the fish tacos were outstanding. This is more of a story than a review, you been warned! A friend took me here after a meeting when I told him that my wife wanted good fish tacos. The atmosphere was nice, inside and out, parking is a bit of a challenge, especially if you are not driving a motorcycle. So we placed our order and waited for our food, I was approached by a middle-aged Caucasian woman, who appeared to be in distress! Now I mention her race only because I'm an African from Detroit 6' plus, 220lbs...so she approached me and asked if I could keep her company because she was a little afraid. She informed me that she was awaiting a Lyft. She further offered that she did not drive. I noticed that she didn't have a visible cellphone, so I asked her how long she had been waiting. She said I had been a while, but she unsure of the exact length of time. I asked her if she had the app on her phone, she said that someone else had called. It became obvious from her actions nervous tone, that she had some mental challenges. I asked my friend if a taxi might be a better solution. He suggested we stick with the ride services. I pulled up the Lyft app and began to schedule a ride. The woman clutched my arm began to cry. The Manager of La Tuna came out and informed me that she had scheduled a Lyft over 30 minutes ago, and that she had come out to check woman to ensure she was okay. Well, I didn't exactly shed a tear, but I did clutch the woman's hand and assure her that I would not leave until she was in the Lyft. As a man with 4 sisters, I have always hoped that other men would be as protective of women in distress as I am. This was truly a huge act of humanity that is sorely lacking, a big Up to the Manager of La Tuna and people like her everywhere, who refuse to overlook those in need. You're truly amazing! Her photo is below, stop in and say hello."
