"It was a nice surprise to find this place, I was coming back from work and was looking for a different place to buy fried rice from that were on my way back home, I saw this one and since it's conveniently close to my place I decided to give it a shot andI'm glad I did! The person greeting me at the door was super nice and made sure I was comfortable while waiting for my pickuporder, I ordered the combination fried rice with chicken and shrimp and when I got home and started to eat I realized this wasreally high quality food! The shrimps they used for the rice are the best ones, I really don't know the name of that kind ofshrimp but you know how sometimes you get rice with the tiny little shrimps? Well those are kinda gross to me cause they lookdirty with the black stuff inside of them but oh no! Not this case! They had the good stuff! The big and thick kind of shrimp!It was so so so good and the flavors blended so well together. To be completely honest I also ordered egg rolls and I wasn'tsuper crazy about it, the shrimp and pork in the rolls tasted good but the vegetables they were kinda flavorless and the sweetand sour sauce didn't taste so good, I had to use my own sweet and sour bottle from the fridge BUT because I was crazy in lovewith my fried rice I didn't care about the egg rolls at all! I will be definitely be coming back to this place my only regret isthat after a year of moving into the area I haven't ordered from them before. Thank you so much!"

"All day dim sum, which is pretty hard to find. Order your dim sum by plate/size and the service is pretty fast. Parking in the lot is a bit tricky but there is street parking nearby. It gets packed on the weekends so come early for lunch esp if you have a big group. Standard plates are also available and they offer a special every weekday if you order $30+, so come get your fix of an authentic Cantonese dinner. Kid-friendliness: Small plates"

"We’ve been visiting this restaurant since our children were born, and now they’re 15 and 12. In my opinion, they have the best mì triều châu around. The crispy Chinese donuts are the perfect accompaniment to the noodle soup. This is the only place where I can get extra crispy pork fat to enhance the flavor of my soup. Other Chinese dishes on the menu are also quite delicious and authentic, all at very reasonable prices. The service is attentive and responsive, which I really appreciate. Despite living quite far away, we always choose to come here when we crave Chinese food. The chicken and broccoli are tender and cooked to perfection, and my son orders the combination chow mein every time. The XO beef is fantastic as well. This place is always busy, no matter the weather, and we absolutely love it here."

"I used to go to this restaurant as it was the only one in my neighborhood 15 years ago. The food started to go downhill. The dishes that I would get were nothing like when I first went. They let go their kitchen staff and hired ones that were Not Gourmet not even as good as a chain Panda express or below. I stopped going there 12 years ago. 3 weeks ago there was a big new banner GRAND OPENING. I thought I would give this conveniently located Gourmet Carousel where I assumed new owners took over. My friend and myself played it safe and took out two dishes that would be hard to screw up . A fried rice and a chow fun noodle dish. OMG both dishes were god awful. Missing standard ingredients in both typical dishes. Chow Fun swimming in oil . To my dismay I found out they have the same awful recipes and old cooks !! Just a new family member A a new Shiny banner. Higher priced than good Chinese restaurants to add insult to indigestion !"

"I am going to be honest. This place looks like a dive bar at 9 PM, then turns into the best hangout in West Seattle by 12:30. The karaoke hosts (usually know what they're doing; staff is friendly; Jello Shots are cheap; Chinese food...well...it exists, but nobody comes there for Chinese. Basically, what makes this place amazing is it is the ONLY karaoke spot in West Seattle with a dance floor. And not only a dance floor, a strobing disco ball! The room is built for social dynamics, tables facing inwards, so it's easy to meet people. There is a pool table/room. Occasional fights, but never seen anything worse than the usual, downtown! Used to be a bouncer, but not lately, though everyone is friendly, and it's a mix between regulars and people who know niche hangout spots that secretly rule! Only downside is don't come on weekdays, aside from Friday. It's barren, unless you want to practice! I've had plenty of girls (and guys! buy me drinks, and you should get about 3x songs per night if you arrive at 9 PM. Occasionally, there are open mics. Also, Wendy is secretly good at remembering faces, so if you're a regular, you might score a free beer! Also, the new singer from Queensryche (not Geoff practiced there, so I bought a tank top like his! If you see me in the crowd, say hi! I'm the guy doing Bowie, Floyd, and Billy Idol. Plus a few suicides that suck less than ten drunken 21-year-olds howling N'Sync suicide numbers into the mic, then expecting men to dance to get them attention! Also, if one more bad singer attempts Radiohead's Creep, I will NEVER listen to said 90s band again! In fact, the sports bar next door will be my evacuating spot for the five minutes it takes you to ruin fine art. There are some things even alcohol can't fix. "

"Bbq pork was a couple days old and very dry. No sauce/glaze on any pieces of the meat whatsoever. Not worth the $9.75 they charge at all. Mongolian beef combo plate also terrible and a joke. The few bites I took from each plate made me sick. Kudos to the people that pay these prices for such low quality food. Much rather drive 10 minutes to get 10x better in Galt."

"The place looks very rundown and sketchy on the outside, once you step inside it is not that bad but could be better. I came here cause it was the only place in the area serving food really late at night.The portions are good, the prices can be a bit high on some specific items but mostly are competitive. I don't think I would come back unless I'm hungry really late at night and have no other choice again. I'm worried about the cleanliness of the place. If you are in a pinch like I was I would suggest it, but only under those circumstances."

"We 're from LA, so I 'm sorry(? and also this is thus far the best Chinese restaurant we 've been to in Portland in the 8 years we 've lived here. We settled on thinking we just won 't experience the same dining for Chinese food in this city. Soo la voo. We 've been to all the spots you 're thinking of and nope, Gold Garden was better tonight. Even my Chinese/Filipina mother said this is better than [that spot you 're thinking of]. Sooo flavorful, huge portions, and such friendly service, even understanding our 7mo and 6.8yo had needs to address too. If you 're also used to and wondering about restaurant 'health ' grades in Portland, this spot received 100/A+ with its last inspection. These portions are family style and the menu with dining experience is just like spots we grew up going to, down to the soda can with straw. We ordered: deep fried crab Hong Kong style with garlic (omg delicious! , enoki mushroom and tofu, Chinese broccoli, salt and pepper shrimp and squid, soup dumplings, fish maw soup, and duck with pineapple (not our fav . Yes, we had a ton of leftovers for the coming days you know Asian mamas. Parking: Behind the building are some spots, and there is one handicap on the side, otherwise street parking is available."

"There was one table free at about 2pm on a Sunday. Everyone seemed to be eating clay pot rice so we ordered one each. As mentioned on the menu, it took a while for the food to arrive. The rice was nice and crispy with just the right amount of char. It wasn't too stuck on either. They provided a sauce dispenser but I didn't use it much. Having tried spare ribs, salty fish, and a combination with sausage and bacon, I'd recommend the combo. The only thing missing was veggies. Next time I think we'll share some clay pots and a veggie dish."

"Started the new year with dim sum at Paramount Superstars. Arrived around 11am and plenty of tables available, but tables started filling up around noon. Took a while for our orders to arrive. Some of our items: shrimp and chive dumplings (wrapper too soft and whole thing broke apart when picking up, would've liked more chives); steamed tripe (hubs likes this one with the sauce on the side); salt and pepper tofu (arrived hot and perfectly salty); Chinese donut rice roll (ok but donut wasn't hot so it was kinda hard); Shanghai dumplings (wrapper too thick and not soupy on the inside); green tea Mochi (liked that they were warm when they arrived, not too sweet and good way to end meal). Positives restaurant is clean and plenty of tables without feeling cramped. Negatives some items kinda pricey and tea is $1.50/person."

"This Chinese restaurant in Almaden Valley is decent. We placed an order and it was ready on time. The location is a bit hard to spot, tucked away in a corner next to CVS with a truck parked in front of an empty loading zone that blocked the view from the parking lot. The food tasted okay and the portions were generous, but there seemed to be something missing in the flavors. The combination fried rice lacked a certain element. The eggplant with garlic sauce was tasty but not outstanding. The orange chicken was good, with a delicious sauce that was packed separately for customization. We also enjoyed a dish with garlic, squash, and paprika. Overall, the food was decent but we've had better elsewhere. Despite a sign at the counter stating cash or Venmo only, we were able to pay with a credit card as well. When we brought this up to the person behind the counter, they confirmed that credit cards were accepted and we were able to pay with one."
