"For my main course, I chose the Kabab Kubide, which consisted of two large skewers of finely seasoned minced beef and lamb, accompanied by grilled tomatoes, butter, and Basmati rice. Our meals arrived simultaneously, beautifully arranged on square plates. My wife, daughter, and friend went for either grilled lamb loin skewers or marinated chicken breast skewers and were thrilled with their choices. However, I found the minced meat skewers to be a bit too fatty for my taste. The excellent saffron rice, large grilled tomato, and even larger grilled pepperoni couldn’t quite compensate for this issue.
Moreover, the mint in my Dough settled at the bottom of the glass over time, transforming what was initially a refreshing drink into a rather overpowering mint experience that I found nearly inedible. Since I couldn’t finish everything—partly thanks to the generous and delightful appetizer—the attentive server kindly offered us a complimentary Persian espresso or saffron tea. We happily accepted, and I chose the black tea with cardamom, which was strong and sweet, evoking fond memories.
I would have loved to try the Khorma Gerdou – divine dates filled with walnuts and coconut flakes for dessert, but we had already picked up some cake and pastries for coffee. PERSIA restaurant boasts an extensive menu with a wide array of options. Although the prices are a bit on the higher side, dishes like pomegranate sauce with fried walnuts, Basmati saffron rice, okra, fried barberries, Falude, and Shole Zard likely justify the cost.
Despite my critiques regarding my dish, I would still highly recommend PERSIA restaurant to anyone who appreciates authentic oriental cuisine."
