The service was efficient, the dishes were served hot and delicious, and the manager even stopped by to check on us. Drinks were promptly refilled, and the Chile rellenos were crispy on the outside and filled with flavorful cheese and peppers. My Chimichanga was also crispy and packed with tasty shredded beef. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, with crispy lettuce.
I must say, having traveled to Mexico and various countries in Europe, the Mexican cuisine at El Matador may not be completely authentic, but it is Americanized and truly delicious. I took leftovers home and reheated them the next day, and they were still crispy and flavorful, without being greasy.
