"We had a reservation and were seated right away near the fireplace. The seats were comfy for kicking back but not for sitting up to eat. My wife, who is short, had to sit on the edge of the chair to be up enough to eat. Her steak was really good. My chicken pasta not really great. It was a bit salty and just average pasta sauce. The chicken was a smaller portion that was grilled. It was okay. Nothing I would order again."

"The other reviews are right. We went on a weeknight and it was pretty full. The service is slow from the kitchen and the servers dont know the menu or the bar list. I get that there are 150 kinds of whiskey and scotch on the menu but he didn 't know a lot about it. The food is so so. The spinach ravioli was overcooked and mushy and drowning in sauce. It was too bad, because they used fresh spinach in there and the sauce had a good flavor. The shepards pie came out with a pasty lump of potatoes on top and the french onion soup had barely melted cheese on it. I guess the cooks never heard of broiling to brown the top of things. Again, the flavor was pretty good, but the presentation and finishing touches left a lot to be desired. We asked if there were any scotch or whiskey liquors on the menu. The waiter, of course, did not know, but asked. The answer, no. Really? There are a ton of these things on the market so that was surprising considering this is there differentiator. Fine. I asked if they had decaf coffee. The answer we only have caffeinated. Last week, we had only decaf!! So I asked for any kind of decaf/herbal tea. He brought me two versions of "lightly caffeinated tea! I 'm a tea drinker and I have never heard of this. Odd thing for a bar to have when they dont even have chamomille. Not sure who is ordering supplies, but clearly they need to pull it together. In general however, I liked the place. It fits big groups, wasn 't too too loud and had a fun vibe. The menu was broad enough and the whiskey/scotch selection rocked. I feel like they could make some minor changes, train the staff better and have a real winner."

"We drove two hours to my husband's birthday brunch on Sunday. We were hoping to sit outside and watch the freighters go by. The outside deck was closed and that was sad as it was such a beautiful day. This was not mentioned on their website. Our waiter Tony was personable and perfect. He was the best part of our dining experience. We won't be back as the food was only fair and a disappointment. There were several options, but the fish was mushy, the beef and peppers were tough, the eggs benedict were overcooked, the bacon was too salty. The desserts were substandard. The peach cobbler was made from canned peaches, the eclairs and strudel were still frozen. My husband liked the waffles, roast beef, ham, and breakfast sausages. Others had told us the food wasn't great but we wanted to eat outside so we took a chance. We should have listened to our friends and family."

"The service and ambiance here was excellent. The menu was very well rounded. We got filet mignon and Royal Red Shrimp to share with salads, sauteed garlic mushrooms and baked potato. There were baskets of a variety of breads and two kinds of butter. Truffles were provided at the end of the meal. It was a beautiful dining experience!"

"Everything started off nice. As the young gentleman with the very bushy hair came to change out the coals he was very cold as well as rude when anyone spoke to him as if he did not like speaking with black people. Which I find this confusing since you make most of your profit off of black people? The waiter was very good at the beginning but towards the end he had an altercation with one of my guest that was with me that night over a three dollar tab. When you deal with people who drink you should know how to deal with them or either have management get involved I don’t believe that he should’ve tried to address that his self with the tone that he had over three dollars"

"We were in Milwaukee for a convention and noticed that Pier 106 was the only seafood restaurant around so decided to give it a try. Its right on the Riverwalk so a great location especially for those who like to sit outside (we didn't). We had great service and our meal was very good. We enjoyed an appetizer of mussels & clams which had white sauce over them - sauce reminded me of New England clam chowder - very different than what we expected but delicious. I had the stuffed salmon as my entrée and my husband had the ahi tuna - both dishes were very good. I'd recommend Pier 106 to anyone visiting Milwaukee."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."

"First of all, I will say the ambience is lovely. It goes downhill from there. The server was fine, but I had to summon her to actually order anything. I went with the Salmon Tartino (or something like that I had seen a previous review raving about it, so decided to try it). Definitely nothing worth recommending. Bland, but fine. I then opted for two entree's based on my cravings: the cacio e Pepe and then skirt steak. First and foremost it is billed as cacio e Pepe but it is essentially Alfredo sauce with pepper on top. There shouldn't be any cream, but it was loaded with it.. The skirt steak was listed with a pickled avocado sauce... traditionally, especially in Miami, it would come with a chimichurri sauce. But, I went with it anyway. The marinade for the steak was so oily it seeped all over the plate. The flavor wasn't bad, but when you added the side avocado sauce (which had zero pickling flavor it was just a bland avocado mousse), it actually detracted from the flavor of the steak. The Truffle fries, I must say, were delicious. Perfect crust with a fluffy inside. But the kicker that dragged this rating down from a 3 star review to a 2 was the signature old fashioned. I initially thought I was sucking them down too fast, but realized after the second order that it wasn't me it's the fact that they give you a HUGE ice cube, which makes it look like a full drink, but in actuality, they're essentially giving you a shot of a full sized drink and hoping you won't notice the optical illusion that the ice cube just makes your glass look full."

"It is advisable to book a table in advance as this restaurant is often crowded. There is a parking lot directly in front of the restaurant, but it tends to fill up quickly. When choosing your meal, be sure to navigate carefully. The Peking duck and garlic sprouts stir fry are standout dishes, but other menu items are not as impressive. While items like lo mein and fried rice are on the pricier side, they do not meet expectations in terms of taste. I suggest sticking to the recommended dishes if you want a satisfying dining experience. There are many other restaurants that offer higher quality food for a similar price."

"Back in our old neighborhood for a couple of days so we decided to dine at Tao's which used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Unfortunately it has been sold and the wait staff was abysmal. There was a big language barrier with our server and that was a bit scary as one of us has Celiac Disease and needs to be sure his food is gluten free. This was NEVER a problem in the past under the previous owners but we sort of white-knuckled it and thankfully there was no cross contamination. So kudos for that. The food was as we remembered it which is pretty delicious. If not for the service delays, confusion, and language barrier I'd probably add another star."

"Very beautiful and noble place. Drinks are exceptional. Love the decor and the live piano. Starter was the Barratta that was a great choice. Delicious Prosciutto. Entree was a T-bone Steak medium rare, there was more medium, but it was a huge steak and was well spiced. The side of the asparagus with Parmigiana was good. Also ordered the seafood Risotto – it was quite bad. The pasta was extremely bland and tasted as if it was boiled in tap water. Very poor for such a beautiful place."

"What a fun tiki-themed place! The night we were at Tiki Underground there was a really good surf band, the Kahuna Kings, complete with pretty go go girls...the Lava Ladies. Even though this is a newly opened place, the owners bring in a lot of inventive fun activities such as music, Tiki carvers and an upcoming tiki flea market to trade retro memorabilia. More importantly, the drinks here are first class: hand mixed by a real bartender from homemade ingredients and fresh fruit juices. No icky pre-bought mixes with corn syrup! And my feeling about drinks is, 'Why waste a huge amount of calories on something that is not delicious? '. We had the flaming scorpion bowl for four, which was spectacularly presented and very tasty. But you will find all of your Polynesian retro-favorites here...mai tais, zombies, hurricanes...and the list goes on. We were pleased with our food...burgers with grilled pineapple and teriyaki sauce, coconut shrimp, Tiki fries with yummy cheese and tangy garlic sauce, juicy chicken wings, and amply topped nachos. The servers are friendly and aim to please, and the owners do their best to greet all their guests personally and make sure everyone is happy. Also, there is a nice little patio for when the weather is nice. This cute little place, on the outskirts of Hudson, not far from the National Park, is a great place to go for a relaxing and fun time. Highly recommended!"

"As an out-of-town visitor, my first experience at this restaurant was unfortunately also my last. While the food and drinks were enjoyable, the reservation system and seating process were extremely disorganized and in need of improvement. Despite having a reservation, we waited for about 45 minutes for our table, only to find another group already seated in our section. The waitress was helpful in getting us a new table, but we were then informed of a 2-hour time limit for sitting. We were seated late and had to move to a different table, resulting in us not placing our order until an hour after our reservation time. As we were still enjoying our meal and drinks, security abruptly approached us and asked us to leave to make room for another party, even though we had not reached the 2-hour limit. It was a frustrating experience, especially during a busy weekend with Beyoncé's Renaissance tour in Houston. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and unprepared for the influx of customers. I believe they should have implemented a reservations-only seating policy to handle the crowd. Overall, the staff, including security and the seating hostess, need to improve their customer service mentality, communication, and organizational skills."

"I was told I couldn't buy dinner on Friday night. I was denied. the bouncer told me that my “pants” do not fit their dressing order. after he had rejected me, he said: “If you help me, I can let you in.” Now I would be in order if I were denied, but I do not support the dishonest business practice to pay a bribe to be admitted. Once I told him I would pay, he told me that I wasn't able to get into any of the bars in the old town. that was also dishonest. I went to casa amigos and was immediately admitted. no problems. the staff there was friendly and so welcoming. if they think about going here. think again."

"This is a great place to eat so don't pass it by. Morgan is an outstanding bartender who hand stuffed olives with blue cheese just for us. She then proceeded to make some amazing dirty vodka martinis. My husband and I ordered the totchos one night which were enough for 4 people and absolutely sinful! The next night we each had the fried grouper and shrimp basket. I had the potato salad which was home made and my husband had the fries. Best ever! Crisp and the breading was wonderful. I can't say anything but good about this place!"
