"I want to clarify that my rating may not reflect the restaurant's specialties. The place was consistently busy, with a flow of customers coming in as others left. To be fair, most of the customers were Caucasian. I ordered the Vuelve a la Vida cocktail (a seafood cocktail), but it lacked flavor and presentation, and there was no way to adjust it. I’ve never seen a raw oyster expand like a pillow in a cocktail before. Perhaps I should have chosen something else, as everyone around me seemed to be enjoying their meals. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was friendly. It seems I just picked the wrong dish. I would be willing to return and try something different, so I don't want to discourage anyone. Overall, my review is quite honest."

"One of the best places for breakfast in downtown Albany! Brick Mortar offers a wide range of seating and makes you feel as though you're very fancy while still being perfectly affordable! The service is great, the people here really do genuinely care about you getting good food! We opted to sit outside, having this option was wonderful; I loved enjoying the weather while eating my food! The atmosphere was so comfortable, it was a great place to sit and chat with my friends. I got the grilled cheese, it sounds childish but this grilled cheese actually featured 4 different kinds of cheese (Bleu, Swiss, parmesean, and provolone) as well as sliced tomato and basil and was served on sourdough. I also got the clam chowder, and it was phenomenal. I was there with 2 friends, they got the fresh fruit crepe and the smoked salmon crepe. Both said that their meal was delicious. It was great to have both the breakfast and lunch options available at the same time. After the meal I went to the Cafe inside the restaurant and got a lavender lemonade. It was unbelievably refreshing, I highly recommend it on a hot day. The woman at the counter was so kind, I originally wanted a plain lemonade but she insisted I throw some flavor in there and she was very right!! If you're looking for a classy, comfortable, and friendly place for breakfast or lunch definitely consider brick and mortar!"

"My wife and I went on a very rare date (young kiddos) on 2/15/2022. Because of the rarity we're very particular and sensitive on what a good restaurant is. We ended up here, by chance, and it was very good luck indeed, because we came to find out that this is the best restaurant in Albany, Oregon (or really anywhere I've been in years). It is hands down better than any place in Corvallis or Salem. This establishment is a jem.The staff was very accomodating, we booked a reservation last minute and we were able to get a table in 30 minutes. Which gave us the perfect excuse to mill around town and decompress from our busy lives.There were even able to seat us early.Once we entered we noticed the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music and decorations were charming, enough so that if I had the time I would have been happy to remain and hang out just for the atmosphere alone.The food was absolutely amazing. There's magic going on there because wow. I can't emphasize this enough: the chef was the a credit to all chefs everywhere, and If I was filthy rich, I'd hire this person as my personal chef.Please try the Sturgeon, if it's still on the menu. My wife had the rockfish and loved it.Our waiter, and I apologize because I can't remember his name, was kind, and welcoming. And he was a ninja with the water because my glass was alway full: I took a drink and looked away and it was full again: if I was a desert nomad I would have been in heaven. He was the perfect level of charming and available, and yet unobtrusive.My wife and I will be back and I believe we've found our new go-to restaurant in the next rare instance of a night out.Thank you Sybaris staff for your hospitality and delicious food and wonderful experience. And it gave us a wonderful date night, and a lasting good memory."

"We have been going to Novak's for decades, we travel from Eugene and Portland to meet up for family meals. Their food and service is great. They are only open on Thursday's and Friday's now but still worth the trip. We did the buffet for $49 per person but you get an alcoholic beverage, plus your choice of appetizers and desserts on top of the unlimited entree options. It ends up being a great deal and you get to have a smorgasbord of all the menu items. Kids 4 and under get access to the buffet for free. Everything is so yummy down to their house butter. The cabbage rolls, sausage, and chicken paprikas are so good. They used to be located right off of I5 which was more convenient but now is in downtown Albany. The restaurant is cozy but cute. Always a good experience!"

"Their Pad Thai is legitimately one of my most favorite foods. Their boba is authentic and tastes great, also a fan of their ramen. Parking: Not a lot of spots in its own lot but plenty right next to it.
