"I will never come back here again or recommend it to anyone. I had a reservation booked four days in advance for a celebration. I did have to call an hour before to let them know we’d be slightly late, and they assured me it wouldn’t be an issue. When we arrived—less than 10 minutes past—we were given maybe the worst table in the place next to an overcrowded booth. We politely asked to move and were told we could, but they needed the next table back by a specific time. That was fine with us even though we also had a reservation , but when the table next to us opened up we moved again with our waiter’s approval assuming the time restriction no longer applied to the new table. This was all before we ordered anything, so it wasn't a huge hassle. We enjoyed our meal, ordered multiple drinks, and even requested a celebration dessert with an extra tip by the way. After that, staff gathered right behind us loudly discussing how they needed all three tables in our section for a reservation. Not sure how we were supposed to know that...but either way they were making it clear they expected us to wrap it up and leave. We were given our check with our last drink left. No problem, we paid it and were working on finishing up. The manager then came over and told us we had to leave, with the full drinks still in front of us. She said the hostess had mentioned the specific time limit despite the fact that we had changed tables and were never told it still applied. She also said that they had to move another party because of us. Again, how are we supposed to know this considering no one told us after we changed tables? And really, trying to guilt us after we had ordered AND paid for meals, drinks, and dessert...that was just unnecessary. She offered us a round at the bar IF we could find a seat ...seriously? but by then I wanted nothing to do with them considering how incredibly rude they were. This was supposed to be a celebration and instead we were rushed out without even finishing the drinks we had already paid for yes, they took the check before telling us to leave so rest assured they still got their money and tip. I wouldn’t recommend this place for any dinner, let alone a special occasion. Bummer because we came pretty often and had even held an event here before. Now, I wish I could leave 0 stars."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Anton Michel restaurant in Carmel, CA, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Not only did the restaurant boast a fabulous patio setting, but the combination of their dog-friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and exceptional service made it a standout dining destination. First and foremost, I was thrilled to discover that Anton Michel is a dog-friendly establishment. Being able to bring my furry friend along to enjoy a meal with me was a huge plus. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, providing water and even treats for my canine companion. It truly created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Now let's talk about the food. Anton Michel surpassed my expectations with their delectable cuisine. The menu showcased a wide array of options, from fresh seafood to mouthwatering steaks and innovative vegetarian dishes. Every dish I tried was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and it was evident that the chefs put a lot of thought and care into each creation. One of the highlights of my dining experience was the fabulous patio. The outdoor seating area provided a tranquil and charming ambiance, surrounded by lush greenery and offering a glimpse of the beautiful Carmel scenery. It was the perfect setting to enjoy a meal, whether it was a leisurely brunch, a romantic dinner, or a casual gathering with friends."

"Crackers and water are supposedly free of charge here per a manager's explanation. The customer service here is terrible, however with the exception of three bartenders. These three bartenders or servers are notable, however, in that they are especially hospitable. One is a man with red-hair whose name may be Parker, the other a latino man with short, curly hair, and the last bartender was a young woman, seemingly of South Asian heritage. These three bartenders provide quality service, and in the case of the young woman, are kind enough to let one down gently when the answer to a question is seemingly, no. Unfortunately, this young woman is no longer employed by ABO from what I was told by by management. I say this as despite management's guarantee that the crackers come without a surcharge, I have been rudely regarded for having even inquired of them. Each time, this rude service has come from a bartender named, Ian. He once turned me away the momet I walked in the bar telling me to go to Wendy's instead. Another time, a manager stated that I was clear to stay until closing time enjoying nothing but water and crackers, which are stored in large buckets on most of the restaurant's tables both inside as well as outside. After an hour, the manager asked that I clear the table for another guest, mind you without asking if I was going to order. Not once did anyone ask. I asked the manager if he would like for me to leave. He stated that he would. I then moved to a table outside that was devoid of any crackers. After sitting there for only a few moments, I was told by Ian that the general manager did not know why I was there and that I needed to vacate the premise. This is despite a manager granting permission for me to dine at ABO. When I asked to speak with said manager, Ian waffled and eventually threatened to call the police to have me removed from the restauarant for loitering. I never once refused to leave the establishment. Upon him saying this, I decided to leave rather than engage with him any further. I exited ABO stating that I would be happy to speam with both management and police alike. I was able to discuss both incidents regardimg Ian's behavior with a manager named, Josh. He was amazing and listended to my concerns. In short, while this bar may look aesthetically appealing, there is more to be done regarding customer service."

"Hats off to Executive Chef Michael Santoro. The Whisky Bar 's wall of backlight bottles is dramatic and sculptural and....sparkles like little diamonds. We started there with a cocktail that our group took into the restaurant. The Kingbird has a lovely menu on it 's own and was very busy, but the Backroom has a pre fixe special menu of 3-4 courses of dishes that are his choice at the time. We sat down with our cocktails and then comes a beautiful pour of bubbles from the chef and team to welcome us, then a beautiful plate of little special canapes....to enjoy with the sparkling. Next was a stunning and delicious amuse bouche with sturgeon. The bread course was served in a silver toast rack with pb j ....foie grad peanut butter and an amazing jelly. THEN, starts our 3-4 courses....which everyone around the table enjoyed...tuna crudo, black raviolis with melt in your mouth short rib, escargot, john dory, amazing rib eye caps and more. The most dramatic and incredibly flavorful presentation and dish was the bouillabaisse. You can see the pics from last night, but was over a microburner at our table and was warmed and bubbled over the top container of tarragon, fennel, citrus, etc. to create the most unbelievable broth....the table area smelled divine. This was later poured tableside over lobster, scallops and more. We also shared an extra small course of creamy chestnut risotto with alba truffles shaved over the top. Then came our fabulous desserts, each beautiful in their own right and delicious....which was followed by more unexpected treats from the chef and his team of delicious housemade limoncello and then a little silver plate of tiny beautiful sweets...a tiny chestnut profiterole, raspberry gelee, honey marshmallow and a chocolate black truffle sweet. An amazing evening with friends."
