"We arrived and sat at the bar. It didn’t appear to be very busy, and two women were working behind the bar. Eventually, one of them came over and dropped the menus on our table before asking what we wanted to drink. My wife and I both knew our choices, and we received our drinks fairly quickly. After looking over the menus, we set them aside and waited. About ten minutes passed while I tried to catch the bartender’s eye, but she was preoccupied, chatting and moving around. After about 13 to 15 minutes, she finally came over to take our order—just some simple steaks, potatoes, and bread. She mentioned that the salad bar was in another room, so I went to check it out. To say the selection was sparse would be generous; I ended up with just some cottage cheese and watermelon. She promised to bring us some utensils, but after returning to our table, we waited again. Over ten minutes passed when my wife finally decided to walk up to the bar to ask for silverware. Our appetizer arrived cold, and it was clam strips. Then our steaks were delivered; mine was a ribeye and my wife’s a T-bone. We ordered both medium rare, but her steak was well done—gray and overcooked—while mine was nearly raw. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant and the gravy was mediocre at best. My wife took two bites of her steak before putting down her fork and knife, while I managed four bites before giving up. Two of the three forks we were given bent easily, as if they were made from flimsy metal. My wife, who is quite petite, bent hers without much effort! To top it all off, the bill came to $83, and the steaks had almost no flavor. If it weren’t for the sticky salt and pepper shakers, we might not have been able to eat anything at all. My wife ended up leaving to sit in the car because I was handling the situation better. After finishing my beer, I walked up to the bar to pay, and the bartender had to ask me what my wife had ordered to drink. Again, I really hope this was just an off night because that can certainly happen."
