"The standout item is definitely The Brisket. Not every sauce or combination they offer is a perfect match, but everything about this sandwich is pure magic. The meat is incredibly tender and flavorful, complemented by a nice kick from the jalapeños. Although it could stand on its own, the sweet and smoky flavor of the comeback sauce is the perfect finishing touch. It's my favorite item at Peachtree, and I'd go so far as to say it's one of the best brisket sandwiches in Syracuse.
In the second and third spots, it's tough to choose, so I’ll mention both. First up is The Chicken, featuring a hefty breaded chicken breast topped with hot honey and piled high with southern slaw. The combination of chicken, crispy breading, and sweet honey is excellent. The slaw adds a refreshing crunch, but the sweetness can overpower the flavors a bit. Since the honey is already sweet, a spicier or more savory slaw would elevate it even more. Nonetheless, I still really enjoy this sandwich, despite my taste preferences suggesting a flavor clash.
Also in the running for second or third is The Bacon. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to love this sandwich as much as I did. While bacon is amazing, I view it more as a sidekick than the main attraction. When I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised; the thick-cut bacon is perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. It’s the best bacon I’ve ever tasted, transforming simple ingredients like bread, lettuce, and mayo into an unforgettable sandwich.
Next, we have what I’d call the more standard sandwiches. The club is similar to any other club, but at least you get the added advantage of Peachtree’s excellent bread and unique sauce. It may not stand out as much as the others, but if you're in the mood for a club sandwich, you won’t be disappointed. The turkey sandwich is also quite good, comparable to the club. However, I find the focaccia bread a bit odd—it tastes fantastic but holds together more like cake than actual bread. I took the other half home and popped it in the oven for a bit, which I enjoyed much more.
I wouldn’t recommend the burger. At $13.00, it comes with a rather dry patty that lacks flavor. We tried adding sauce to improve it, but it remains an underwhelming burger with no standout qualities. Avoid it.
The tenders are nothing special. They’re on the kids' menu but priced the same as anywhere else. The chili is decent and a good deal at $5.50 (definitely get it with cheese). It has just enough spice to be mildly kicky. It might work well on a hot dog, but you’d have to bring your own hot dog, I suppose. The fries, though, are fantastic—fresh cut and non-frozen. I’m not sure what they fry them in, but they taste fresh every time.
That covers my thoughts on nearly everything available here. Overall, I highly recommend giving Peachtree a try. The bread and ingredients are top-notch, and their sandwiches feature unique and delicious sauces. They really put in the effort to create a distinctive touch that elevates them above what you'd find in a typical deli or diner. Plus, you get free fudge with your meal. It might just be the summer heat, but mine has always been in a hot fudge-like consistency—I'd suggest putting it in the freezer. It also dissolves nicely in coffee if you want to give it a chocolaty twist."
