"On the bright side, I appreciated that they didn’t drown the meat in sauce – they serve it on the side instead. The flavor of the sauce was excellent, though it was a bit thick for my taste; I prefer a thinner consistency for barbecue sauce. While they didn't serve the traditional Texas toast, the small roll that accompanied my meal was rich and buttery, which I didn’t mind at all. Everything was served on butcher paper, and there were pickles and onions on the side. Some of the sides were a little different from what I’m used to, but I’d happily choose cream spinach over beans, coleslaw, or potato salad any day. The staff was professional, and the restaurant was clean. Overall, I was impressed and will definitely be coming back."

Food was good. Large selection. I liked the serving plates. They had 3 different sauces you could get/refill yourself.

The pulled pork sandwiches were incredibly tender and juicy, and the mac and cheese was absolutely fantastic. Your chocolate chip cookies were also delicious. I loved that you offer free kids' meals on Sundays—what a great deal! The prices are very reasonable too. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was spotless. Keep up the great work! View menu

I visited Dickey's for my birthday and enjoyed a complimentary classic sandwich. I occasionally dine there, and this experience was fantastic. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and they truly made my birthday feel special. In contrast, our waiter at Houlihan's, where we celebrated my actual birthday, didn't even acknowledge the occasion. I really appreciated the gesture at Dickey's. I will definitely return with my family.

The meat was juicy and tender and the staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I both have a 2 meat plate with two sides. My plate had a lot of fat on it and the staff was ready to give me a slimmer cut! They really did my day and dinner was delicious. We also liked the 3 different bbq sauce choices as well as the pickles and onions that you can add to your plate. The jalapeno baked beans had a really good heat for them, not too hot, but just right!

First time here. Very rustic in style. Meats smoked on site. They have a different deal of the day , which it would have been nice, since it was our first visit,if that had been pointed out to us. Anyway, this is a 3rd generation family owned business since 1941,since franchised, that still has the first location in operation. They have a good selection of meats including chicken breast, turkey, pork, kielbasa and beef brisket. We ordered the two meat plate with 2 sides. The beef brisket and chicken were very good. You have your choice of the sauce to add.The only complaint I have is the meat should have been hot..it was lukewarm. View menu

"After reading several recent reviews, I decided that Big Ray 's was a must try kinda place ... mistake! Reviewers were correct in that you are promptly greeted by friendly staff upon entering this quaint little establishment, but that 's the majority of the positive comments that I have got for this evenings dinner. Ordered the Mac 'n Cheese Burger, Rodeo Fries, and a hotdog w/mustard chili (normally order with mustard, chili, slaw but Big Ray 's does not have coleslaw). Let 's start with the Mac 'n Cheese Burger which wasn 't horrible, but I 'm a cheeseaholic and the only cheese was from the Mac 'n Cheese itself, which was a bit lite for me. Rodeo Fries are made with skin on potatoes (which I like) drizzled with cheese, bbq sauce, bacon. It 's not that they were bad, they just needed more cheese and a BBQ sauce that wasn 't quite as sweet. Then there 's the hotdog, which was beyond disappointing and almost to the point of asking for a refund. Although I can deal with a restaurant not having a preferred topping, what I CAN NOT tolerate is using canned chili w/beans as a hotdog topping ... in fact, I believe it 's a Cardinal Sin! I know times are tough right now and while I try to patronize small, local restaurants with tasty cuisine when I have the chance, Big Ray 's simply falls short imho. If you 're going to call yourself a 'Burger Dogs ' kinda restaurant, then you need to expand your hotdog bun offerings to include grilled or New England style buns, broaden your toppings list, and absolutely stop using canned chili w/beans as a hotdog topping! I 'd also prefer to see a Coca-Cola fountain machine as opposed to what you offer, but that 's just a personal preference. But good luck to you guys."
