"I have been eating at this IHOP with my friends and family since it opened. Friday, I witnessed something that I just can't put out of my mind. I am ashamed of myself for sitting there and allowing this to happen. There was this male waiter who was yelling at a waitress, my waitress. His behavior was out of control. He was following her around, yelling and cussing at her. It was ridiculous. I don't know where the manager was, but something needed to be done. I am ashamed that I did not intervene. This waitress kept trying to walk away from him and he kept aggressively pursuing her. This gal was doing her best to do her job, and was even trying to help the other servers by cleaning tables, not just her own, so that customers could be seated. This waiter wouldn't let up. He kept pursuing her and causing a very uncomfortable scene.I have had this waitress several times previously. She is always friendly, hard working, and does a great job. No matter what he may have been upset about, she did not deserve the wrath he was subjecting her (and the rest of us) to.Eating out these days is expensive and people want to relax and enjoy the experience, even if it's just pancakes. We do not want to spend our hard earned money in a place where the workers are screaming at their coworkers. It will be a while before I choose to visit this IHOP again, but if I do, I will REFUSE to have this abusive, poor excuse for a man as my server! And I will NOT be a bystander in this again. Next time, I will call the police AND I will walk back to the kitchen and find the manager myself to come out and get his employee under control. The two stars goes to the waitress...actually, she gets 5 stars, but that abusive, stalking, maniac gets negative stars and, in my not-so humble opinion, he should be fired. My apologies to my waitress for my part in just sitting there and allowing it to happen. Clearly, someone should have done something. I don't remember the waiter's name. I believe it began with a J...Joe or John, maybe Jeff? Not sure, but in my mind his name begins with an A and ends in Hole!"

"For context, here’s my account to the insurance company: My husband, our 2-year-old daughter, and I visited the IHOP in Waldorf, MD on December 9, 2011. My husband ordered a pancake platter, my daughter had the kids' French toast, and I chose the Big Steak Omelet, which I order consistently without hashbrowns inside, with them on the side, an English muffin instead of pancakes, and sour cream on the side. We finished our meal by 11:51 AM. By around 6 PM, I started to feel stomach discomfort accompanied by belching that smelled like rotten eggs. This discomfort lasted for several hours, and since I was 39 weeks pregnant, I couldn’t take any medication for relief. Knowing the likelihood of getting sick, I avoided eating anything else for dinner. This was my only meal of the day. Around 1 AM on December 10, 2011, I experienced an overwhelming urge to vomit. Despite my condition, I rushed to the restroom every 30 to 45 minutes, experiencing severe vomiting, belching, and diarrhea simultaneously for several hours until my system was empty. After that ordeal, I went to Southern Maryland Hospital Center’s ER, where I received IV fluids and anti-nausea medication. Thankfully, the physical stress did not affect my child, who was born five days later. My husband and daughter showed no signs of illness, and I had no further incidents after being discharged. I only consumed clear fluids and toast crackers for the rest of the day. When I contacted a manager at IHOP, he dismissed my claims, saying, “We cook a lot of eggs and make a lot of omelets, so I don’t think you got food poisoning from us. I’ll take your information, but you didn’t get it from us.” It’s alarming how just one bad egg or contaminated utensil can cause illness. As I mentioned, I regularly order that specific omelet, and my husband knows my order by heart; we’ve dined at this location several times over the past two years without any prior issues. This is my statement to the best of my knowledge."
